    Hi Ira. Thanks for sharing.
    I think, you can get an achievement for that game if you want.
    "Win with all companions being alive."
    Which strategy do you think is better in general?
    - Play military but move the fellowship once per turn to keep the option of a ring victory and make the SP alocate an eye.
    OR
    - Play full military.

    Uooo fantastic game Ira, being myself a big fan of the military option for the FP, I consider this is also a great example of how to "go all-in" in a FPMV attempt. We both played nicely, and the end was an awesome colophon. The fact you decided to play this way in a tournament game, shows your bold; but also the clear viability of this way of play. My congratulations.

      You finally won a military victory. My favorite game I played with my friend turned out to be a 1v1 in dale where it was whoever rolled a 5 or 6 first won the game. I was shadow my opponent was free. He had the military victory and dale was my tenth. I won in the 1v1 to end the game.

    WOW! That ending! Maybe The Return of the King should be re-written by Peter Jackson to incorporate this new end to the story? I don't think Tolkien would mind ≽ܫ≼

    Crazy!
    Would be cool to know the official ruling on the corsairs of umbar attacking free people in Umbar. Maybe will go for FP military next time

    Damn, thanks for the fun game! What a clutch ending! I've only ever won a single FP military game and that was in WOME with help of ents and eagles. You explain your thoughtprocess very nicely but when I'm in similar situations my FP armies always seem super small and sluggish - whenever I think about attacking it feels like my opponent will have all the time in the world to counter muster and I'll have wasted more dice on the attempt than them. Anyways, thanks for showing how it can be done!

      Yes, this was surely a crazy game with an unlikely finish! Thanks for the nice note, and sorry for my slow reply.

    I'm pretty sure that when using the hobbits guide abilities on the same tile, they have to be separated to the same location.

    • @WarOfTheRingChamp

      Interesting comment! Remember that they're not being separated simultaneously in this case; they are being separated sequentially. The only reason why you can use the 2nd hobbit's guide ability is because the 1st hobbit has already left the fellowship, and now you need to pick a new guide. And once you pick a new guide (the 2nd hobbit), you can immediately use it's guide ability. So I feel quite confident it's OK to separate them to different locations using their guide abilities. If you had instead used a C die to separate them, then you're definitely right that they'd need to go to the same place!

    Did you consider using Through a Day and Night at @40:14 into Fords of Isen to attack Saruman?

    • @WarOfTheRingChamp
      @WarOfTheRingChamp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting idea! I don't recall considering that, but perhaps I should have. I think I was looking for a 2nd target before making my move with that primary army. Also, looking at that situation, I'd be a bit worried about all the Wargs in Helm's Deep...

    Thanks for these videos, Ira. On turn 6, around the 40 minute mark, you talk about how you'd have played an ent card if you still had Gandalf in Fanghorn, but are they not playable if he's anywhere in Rohan as well? Thanks.

    • @WarOfTheRingChamp
      @WarOfTheRingChamp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The combat effect can be played anywhere in Rohan (or Fangorn or Isengard), but the card effect that kills Saruman requires some companion in Fangorn, plus Gandalf the White in play anywhere.

      @@WarOfTheRingChamp Seems I had a 1st edition card summary. I downloaded the almanac from the link in your notes.
