Nope just slightly richer fuel mixture, but negligible

Hey I am sure you already thought of this but attach a plastic shield to the "bonnet " to. Direct the air flow away

is the engine completely standard when you fit the dump valve? any over fuelling issues
This is the third subaru we've had, all with dump valves, none with over fuelling issues. The sensors simply remeasure and injection is adjusted. The beauty of modern electronic fuel injection.
What does the small pipe and the larger one that was blocked off do?

The stock dump valve dumps the air back into the air box so no sound. This dumps to the atmosphere and makes a whoosh noise. So no overall performance boost, just a nice noise.

andrewb12000 Get a proper one. Not a good idea to be cheap when it's engine parts.
Been working fine for years. Worst case is it'll either leak boost or won't dump. Both of which you would notice pretty quickly.

Did yours throw a check engine? None of our cars did.
How much are BOVs?
You can get really cheap ones for £20 ish, but no idea if they'll last very long! I don't even have one on my subaru - it's blanked off!

what is that hose you blocked off?
+Fdhz Rtsy The standard blow off valve sends the vented air back to the air intake via that pipe. Blocking it off prevents unmetered unfiltered air entering the engine.
Remember: Bov increases ammount of fuel in AR misture, increases internal temperature, increases fuel usage, increases exhaust and turbo temperatures, causes backfires
So did i stay with the original parts or et better install that is juste for the sound or? I got a wrx sti 2004
+4Hunter360 There's no real need for an external blow off valve. It just sounds cool.

not trying to be a smart ass but wouldn't adding more fuel lessen the internal temperature as opposed to running lean

They are a bad design, they piss out air from the vacuum side down the side of the piston and out of the hole. For a bit extra cash a Collins or Forge item are miles better.
