Wonderful video. You are a very good teacher.
As an ordinary lifter grinding out regular pull ups, I knew kipping was "not for me" but had an imperfect idea of what it actually was and why anyone did it. After watching this, I now understand that (1) it is a gymnastics type movement, not a strength building exercise per se and (2) it is a particular part of a sport. I know that is all pretty obvious but I think a lot of lifers who diss these lose sight of this.
If I ever did want to learn how to do these, I would start right here.

Great in-depth explanation. You made me recognize that I've been dropping straight down from the bar rather than pushing back into the swing. Thanks for the video, I'll be implementing this over the next few days.

An astounding explanation in this video tutorial. Technique, mechanics, movement and even what is required to strengthen your pulls is covered in this video. I’m currently practising my pulls daily but just can’t seem to perfect the rhythm and what is needed to focus on the muscle that strengthens the pull. Now, I can so relate while correcting my pulls. Thanks a bunch!!!

Gymnastics has always been my strong suit but been focusing on OLY lifts and aerobic capacity for the last several months. Lately I have realized that my pull ups and toes 2 bar aren’t as strong and flawless as they used to be. This video was fantastic to be reminded of the fundamentals and get back to the basics that I forgot! Thank you Kristi and Patrick! Love all your content and my go to channel when I need help!
