Great tutorial. I wanna learn this in order to get on top of the bar with little power and quick. In practise I want to get up on a tree branch or something efficiently. Since you were distinguishing between a gymnast kip and a crossfit kip, I am now wondering, if I am learning the right technique.
Depends on how you think about it. Swinging movements are major part of the sport of gymnastics. Yes, we teach strict movement first to build strength and overall joint stability. Additional to that we teach the importance of mobility and maximizing range of motion to be able to build towards to new types of movements, which include swinging variations. Should swinging pull variations be learned in place of building strict skills? No. But can they be a useful for further skill development in the gymnastics world, absolutely. Understanding the place and the correct progressions for these skills is critical so all athletes have more tools in their tool belt that they can implement in a safe way. Thanks for the note 💪

How to perform the PERFECT movement to stifle all your gains from a pull up.

This is why Dave is the best out there when it comes to teaching proper technique and progressions.🙏🏼
Was waiting for this kind of comments... I guess you are not understanding the point of the kipping in this situation.
@@MrSxe34 it's really the only comment lol.
