This whole time I’ve been lifting weights at the gym to build my biceps. Little did I know all I had to do was build cinema rigs like my mans lookin’ all swol 💪🏼🤣
I appreciate that! Thank you Dylan! Slowly but surely this page will keep growing. And I am very patient considering the impact I hope to make on TH-cam.
Great setup, and great video overall! I would really love to see how fast could you go between the rig, handheld, AND on a gimbal, since many of us shoot mostly on a 'run-and-gun' situation, requiring setup changes on the fly. Also, would it be possible to set up a video transmitter on that rig? One other thing as well... your link for the battery doesn't work (not found on amazon). Maybe suggest an equivalent?
Hey man, I just wanna say that you can power the R6 and R5 over Usb-C, just like the Sony ones! No, not just charging, but also powering. All you need is a charger or battery with Usb-C PD function!
Thanks for showing vmount and talking about the voltage. I'd flip-out the Camera screen along with the Atomos in case you need quick access. Thanks again.
Great video! I'm having trouble finding accessories for my EOS R Cage Setup. I have a Ninja V and cannot get it to be stable enough and not move on my glidecam.
As a person that has very little experience with a Glidecam, it’s hard to say. But what I would do is attach a magic arm to the side of the glidecam and put the monitor there
Bro, how do you not have more subscribers?? Your style and overall quality is high end! I love it! You Gained a new sub and hope to see your new stuff!
thanks for the wonderful video but i have a question...its it SAFE to connect all your devices on one D-TAP splitter.. my V-mount battery has just one D-TAP slot and i got a splitter to be able to connect other devices .. please advice me
Thanks for your video, I am just waiting for my mail to bring me a V-mount battery, and I was not aware that the 12v is too much. I double-checked, and it comes with 3 output 8.4V is the minimum. It doesn't have 7.2. Is 8.4v OK for my camera? Thanks a lot!
Hi!! If you are using a modern V Mount battery, most of them come with USB A or USB C. So just use USB cable if your camera takes USB power delivery. If you’re using a dummy battery, then 8.4V should be fine. But I HIGHLY recommend USB power. I’ll make an updated video soon as this video is outdated for what new V Mount Batteries are capable of. Thank you for the question!
Thank you Alejandro!! I wanted to make it different than most of the TH-camrs I see online. I wanted a distinct "look" that would almost be a brand standard.
SUBSCRIBED!!!!!Love this! Never thought of 2 baseplates, My current cage allows me some room for my Gitzo monopod and connecting to my gimbal but it's tight and a pain. I'm only using a single rod on the side for my follow focus but might change that to allow for your suggestion of Mat box. Now for the bad... I gotta order more stuff lol :). Thanks for sharing a to the point and exceptional video!
Mario, I’m a little overwhelmed with trying to pick my parts for a run n’ gun rig for my EOS R to use to get some B-Roll footage of my kid playing baseball. Think like dugout and team/coach sideline interactions. Would like your thoughts on some parts to build my rig.
These are the 12 inch rods correct? The link in the bio says its the 16" black rods but in the video you have the carbon fiber rods which are only made up to 12"
@@mariodevon_ Ok I just wanted to make sure cause I ordered the 16 inch after seeing this and then saw some other videos and they were all 8-12" rods, thank you!
No omelets with your camera, lol. Love your energy but I’ll have to rewatch the video to catch all the information you shared (oh darn! I’ll have to watch again 😊)
Love this real talk!! Quick dummy question…do you have an adapter for the dummy battery in the r5? For the power cable. Literally bought everything on your list and trying to set it up as I type lol
Haha amazing!! Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! Now for the dummy battery. One side of the battery is shaped like the Canon battery. The other side is typically D-Tap, which is specifically powered by most V-Mount batteries. V-Mount batteries have a D-Tap port that provides power to the dummy battery in the camera. Hope that makes sense!
Love the video bro! This is the kind of video I was looking for. A real easy breakdown of what to buy and why! I'll be using some of your affiliate links👍🏼
I'm glad you enjoyed bro! And I'm also happy it was helpful. Thank you for using the links. It's a small kickback I get, but I appreciate anything you all get through any of the links. I hope the links are helpful as that is the main purpose of having them below.
Great video man love the info and the color grading. How much filming time do you get with that battery running your R6 and monitor shooting in C-log 4k 24p?
Very nice and easy to follow video...thank you oh and also id love to see on your right how to build my own lens shelf..could u please show us a closer look. Thats so cool..id love to build one in my room too..
Brother Mario Should I use this cinema rig with my Gimbal. Your videos really help me with my CanonEOSM50 in process of shooting my independent horror film. Inshallah, Peace and Power Brother
Hi Mario! I purchased a plate which only has 12v output. But I use 7.4V DC cable out to a dummy battery, is it gonna be okay? Thank you for sharing your tips!
They are actually just RGB lamps that you can get on Amazon easily now. When I got them, I had to get them special ordered. But now, they are easy to find. Here's a link: amzn.to/3xeuRfJ You can search "rgb floor lamp" on Amazon and find other brands too.
@@mariodevon_ hi ... 👋 thank you, I bought shinobi 5" sadly there are no connecting cables or mount included however they added power adapter for not much use 🙂, I am happy with quality overall, it works fine but I don't have access to my camera screen and 'Q'uick option 🤏. Thanks again 🤝
Very nice and detailed vid. I have one main concern though. I keep hearing from time to time that powering any mirrorless camera via D-Tap will fry the camera. What's your say on the matter?
Try out the 5V first. See if it will power the camera. If 5V isn’t enough, I would research if 8V is too much for a camera. Over 10V for sure is too much for a camera. Hope this helps!!
What Up King! Great Video to ME. I just got my R6 with the intentions of Trickin it out. Q: The Base Plate which you linked in the description says for Sony & GH5 compatible. Do I ignore it & get it because it works for your Rig? Because I’m purchasing everything you listed for the Camera Set Up except for the items I already have: Monitor “Atomos Shinobi” Tilta Matte Box, Separate Audio “Lava Mics/NTG3”, Video Transmitter 400s & Dummy Batteries.
I know you're loving the R6! Apologies for my delay! i will tell you that most Base Plates are universal. They are not fitted specifically for cameras, but can be fitted for cage brands like SmallRig or Tilta. Hopefully you got the Base Plate already!!
Great video! If I went with the RF-EF variable ND adapter, would it be accessible enough on your rig? I own both types of adapters, but I was just curious if you might know. Thanks! Subscribed!
I dont really understand how the variable nd-filter is supposed to work with the matte box on. can you explain to me how the matte box is not rotating with the nd filter?
My best advice is to focus on shooting. You just started. You don't need a cinema rig. What you need is time to grow your craft. Be patient and use what you got now. Don't worry about future gear. Just do what you can with what you have. Good luck!!!
Hi Randy, I honestly couldn't tell you lol. These are pieces I've collected over time. But my initial cost for my first build WITHOUT the V Mount was about $400. Most builds can range from $300+ depending on what you need.
This whole time I’ve been lifting weights at the gym to build my biceps. Little did I know all I had to do was build cinema rigs like my mans lookin’ all swol 💪🏼🤣
This is a nice, no BS video on the freedom of building a rig snd how its up to you to determine what you want from your rig.
This video is gold, and your personality is awesome man! I was surprised at the low subscriber count!! 😎

Just picked up an R6 and small rig! Can’t wait to build it all out! Thanks for all the equipment info!
