as she has a skin condition so i would not even trying giving her meat even once in a white, but then again she is such a cute girl and she deserves those breaks every now and then. and i am glad that you are such a pet lover person because your pet really deserves some affection 🐶

I have a pit rottie mix and he has bad skin issues. I had to stick with dog foods with high in omega 3s. No by products or chicken. Shes adorable and looks so friendly
Thanks! In the beginning I started off with adding fish oil to her food! Omega 3 definitely works wonders.

Same. Raw diet was too much to handle. Now I’m switching to cooked foods. All dry dog food sucks. Wish me luck.

I have 2x dnose Pitbulls. I got them from their 1st owner. Both had bad stomacs and itchy skin. The only retail food that did not harm them was - Bobtail - then all scraps from kitchen. This consists of vegetables and meat mixed with rice. They love my cooking.

Do you use the grain free or the wholesome grains acana? Im doing the red meat one but planning to switch to the fish one
I'm supposed to be a tough guy, 3rd dan karate and 1st dan judo, but i am brought to tears at what happens to dogs, rescued a starving, tick and flea covered, eyes invected, pit bull and after only 2 days "Guy" is changing into a beautiful dog. Loves his food, gets along with my cat and pug. (warned him that Cat was mean) Explained to him that he is now a pet, no more fighting, no more abuse. When he regains his health I will post a picture.
I give my small dog treats like this except no fish. I recall my other dog and I fed him Salmon, but it was Blue Buffalo. He never had problems. But I guess it does now. After COVID, a lot of dog brand foods are messed up. My dog is on N&D Farmina, lamb and punpkin. And I may pick up some cans of N&D wet food salmon, coconut. Thanks for the idea. I don't like my dog eating just dry food. Wet food is good too. Can't afford fresh packages of food for the dog, to much $$$$. We are both on inflation budget!

One minor point, “Sit” and “Down” are two separate commands, either tell her “Sit” or “Down”, not sit down. She’s a beautiful girl.
It's all according to what she's used to though if you say sit down all the time then she probably knows exactly what that means you could say breakfast cereal and as long as you push on her button make her sit down she'll know that breakfast cereal means to sit down it's the command it's not necessarily the commands it's saying the command and showing them what they need what we mean and then being consistent with that

thank you so much for this video, i love twix's name - she looks just like my dog - Panda and had the exact same problems, I am still having trouble with her ears. I switch to the Acana brand recommended. However, I did choose the Freshwater flavor - her skin and coat are looking amazing! I had to throw away all toys and treats to just clear up the skin and find a food that worked. However, do you have anymore suggestions for treats? Im nervous to even try the ones suggested! I feel like she has to have... grain free, fish ingrident products.. thank you again for this!

I'm gonna start doing that food for my pit bull see if it helps out as for his one year thank you for sharing. I've already concluded through trial-and-error that I think he is also allergic to many meats so seeing this kind of confirms it for me And puts me on the right path to figure it out

Same. I have bought SO MANY different brands and lots of different real meats too. Very frustrating watching your dog itch too often 😊

My dog has the same problem. Tell me, how did you understand that she was allergic to all types of meats? How long did it take you? And how long does it take for the fur to grow back?and what kind of kibble does she eat now? has anything changed?

Such a beautiful dog!! My diesel is a blue pit and he started to get hot spots all over and his neck and chest is red and looks like a rash. I’ve been trying to find an affordable food that would maybe help him but he’s 110lbs so I usually have to get a 40lb bag because I also have another dog who’s 60lbs. The vet recommended apoquel for allergies since Claritin isn’t helping, but apoquel is about 95$ for a month supply. Did u ever try omega 3’s with her to see if it helped the redness any? I’m trying to find something that isn’t gonna cost me 150$ a month for food and allergy medicine. I’ve tried like 4 different foods and oatmeal baths etc but he stays itching with the redness.
Hi . My pit bull mix is having a lot of skin and ear infection issues. Spent a lot of $$$ c vet bills. Who just told to give expensive meds monthly. Ive done some research and started doing home cooking thinking it was a healthy choice for her until a vet tech told me to eliminate all chicken by products. Now I'm giving her ground beef, lamb, vegetables, rice and special dry food with lamb and fish oil, probiotic. It's a battle but hanging here. Should I stop the rice too?. Will update if this works.

It's all processed food... imagine what your skin would look like if you only ate processed food. It would get better if you ate higher-end processed food. But it's still processed. If you were to buy some of the same things at the grocery store and put it to your together yourself you would save a fortune

Commercial dog and cat food is bad. Reason why they are having allergies and cancer at alarming rate. Even the ones that say organic have issues. Its where they are getting the meat product from filler they use. Vets are now seeing this. I kno everyone can't afford or have time but it really not time consuming to make yr own dog food. Just love and effort literally 1-2 hrs once a month.. fyi: All that stuff has preventatives and chemicals which our pets are not designed to eat. I make my girl food, jerky, treats. Doesn't mean she will live longer, which i hope she surpasses her breed life span but for me I just wanted to give her my all.
Yess I love giving my pup fresh cooked food as well. I can easily whip up her whole week’s worth of food in 30 mins!
fresh cooked food or a raw diet is definitely the best option... also easier to eliminate what the dog is alergic to

My pitt has skin problem. He is 3 minths old now. Will feeding her raw diet increase the chances of the ailment?
It really depends on your pup, you won’t know until you test it out. I’ve seen some pits and other dogs do very well on a raw diet. I’d definitely suggest reading up on how to properly transition your pup on and off raw food. Send an update on what you decide to do!
We are having lockdown here in my place. So i am not continuing the raw diet as of now. I started raw diet When he was two months old. Just visited a close pet store to find a kibble like you described with no chicken or bee
f by products. I couldn't find one. Had been feeding him smart heart kibble for few days. Have you by chance fed your dog or know anyone feeding clarified butter/ ghee ? I had been feeding him ghee .
@@Wonderw72 I haven't heard of anyone feeding their pups ghee. Do you mix it with the kibbles? It was hard to find chicken free and beef free kibbles at first but I feel like there are more brands offering fish. I go to petco, petsmart and my local pet store. Usually the limited ingredient kibbles don't have chicken/beef/turkey in them.

The vet couldn’t figure it out so I decided to switch up her diet and as soon as I did, she stopped scratching like crazy

Thanks for the video. My girl, blue pit, has suffered from extreme allergies since about six months old. The only thing that would help was Apoquel prescription meds from vet. I tried just about every food and have eliminated beef, chicken, etc.. I have her on Instinct turkey only dry food and has nothing else in it. That has seemed to help but not totally. The ear infections continue and some red spots. What do you suggest?
I suggest trying fish food for at least two weeks to see if the red spots and itchiness stops. Try Merrick’s pacific catch, I started with that and saw a huge difference within the first week. Any fish formula kibble works, just make sure there isn’t any chicken/beef/turkey byproducts in the ingredients list. The ear infections can be from her allergies or bacterial infection. Try saline/salt soaks while bathing her, you can soak her ear real quick or swipe the solution with cotton balls. If the infection persists you might need the vet to prescribe a ear gel. It’s gets tiring but definitely keep trying. Dogs shouldn’t rely on meds. Best of luck, update me when you can.

@@Michelle-he1hg What you’re saying is so on point! I just took my American bully to the vet yesterday and she suggested everything that you said. My dog’s ears were so bad that the vet used a gel. I’m going to try fish. She’s now taking prescribed kibble.❤️
My dog that I rescued came with 3 different infections from yeast problems. I tried all kinds of different dogfood, even prescription dogfood from the vet. But then I tried Fromm dogfood and all the itching, hot spots went away. I still have to clean his ears with Malacetic which I get from chewy every once in awhile but soooo much better

I give my guys omega 3 fish oil (mercury removed) Olive oil (extra virgin) is great for their skin and coat. Ground flaxseed is great too, for omega 3.

Never tried raw food but I do cook her fresh food a lot and mix it with kibbles
Is she on any medication? How did you find out her allergies?
The vet gave her steroids at first but I stopped giving it to her after the first prescription becuz it felt like they weren’t trying to find out the cause. They only tested for mange on 3 separate occasions and all were negative. So I just did process of elimination with food. Twix reacted to her allergies pretty fast like within a few days. In the very beginning I was only feeding her chicken and beef kibbles/treats and eliminated that first. I saw improvement but she was still red (minor excessive itching) so I decided to just go all in with fish since fish oil is good for their coat. Her coat is soo shiny and super soft now. I play around with other types of seafoods and she doesn’t get irritated so I declared her a pescatarian lol I give her plenty of options (diff kinds of treats, add veggies, cooking her fresh food a lot) so she doesn’t get tired of it. Hope this helps!
My pit Reese is bad I noticed like 3 small bumps and now he's got spots all over him and he's has hair loss around those spots i thinking his food might be a problem and I changed up his doggy shampoo to baby shampoo hoping these go away
I used oatmeal/aloe shampoo, it helps relieve the itchiness. This spring was Twix's first time having seasonal allergies so I recently tried apple cider vinegar (half acv & half water) to soak her paws and was surprised at how well it worked! I hope Reese gets better soon!

Those are garbage products for dogs. I make my own dog food and my own snacks from my dog.
you feed yor dogs high carbs ? paella is very high carbs, carbs turning into sugar. Dogs need fat not carbs
