  • We have known for a while Joey has allergies. He has been on shots but I wanted to get to the root of the problem. So yep, turns out he is allergic to a TON of stuff he eats and is around everyday! So trying him on his new diet.

Thank you for your time in posting this. On my wish list is 1. A grinder like you have and 2. That canned pumpkin becomes available in Australia ( I use pumpkin but get it the hard way 🤣🤣🤣) 👍👍👍💕💕💕💕💕💕

Good luck to you! The grinder stays on our counter as we use it so much! I never would have guessed Australia wouldn't have canned pumpkin!

OMG... what type of allergy test is that... the results are AMAZING!!!

55 strands. Im happy with it as some of the results have proved that my dog is very allergic to some things. I don't think it's 100% but it has helped alot!

Well with chicken they are more omega 6s and lower in omega 3s that’s why most dogs have and allergic reactions to it, maybe ad some more omega 3 high food with it might help.

I too did 5strand test, 1st the pet food, then after realizing how many allergies he had to all ingredients in commercial dog food even fresh ones I started to make it. I ordered the raw food and environmental to hopefully get more food options for him. I actually found the 2 tests had some conflicting results on the 2 and like your test results certain types of meat from same animal were okay and some not. So its and interesting journey we are still working through to find a good food combination for him. I'm considering reaching out to a local vet to help but giving a elimination diet a start for him but gotta find a base he doesn't react to first! Good luck to you and Joey!

Hi, I was so surprised to see the results! I was curious if it was accurate though. At least you and I have a place to start. Good luck to you!

I have fed Raw for over 20 years. And I know many other people who have fed Raw for a very long time also. I wouldn't even bother with the allergy tests. If your dog is eating kibble or can't, there's so much other crap in there that you'll never really know what your dog is allergic to. Half the time there's actually stuff in that food that's not listed or What's on the bag is not even in the food. So don't worry about those tests. Often once a dog is used to eat raw diet you will find that they have very few if any true allergies.

  • @nogames8982
    @nogames8982 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I know this is an older video for people watching it now please please do not pay much attention to these allergy tests. They are not accurate. And there's a huge difference between a dog being allergic to kibble versus raw. So when you get test results like this Start with proteins that are not listed as allergies, single, pro Tien mixes for a while. And then after your dog system is used to a raw diet. Chances are you will be able to start mixing in the so-called allergy foods without any issues.

We did get a baseline on the test which was very helpful. I know they aren't full proof but did confirm 100% he is allergic to chicken, eggs, beef liver and a few others. So now we know and feed accordingly. I should do an updated video as we have learned so much what he is VERY allergic to.

My dog’s allergy test came back as allergic to dust mites and grass mold. How in the heck.

I'll trade you! My poor boy is allergic to more than he is not. His "intolerance" includes Pork, Chicken, beef, venison and most fish. I don't raise lambs or rabbits which is what I am trying to feed him. It is costing me a fortune! I would love to be able to access fresh lamb and rabbit meat.

I joke that my dog is alerted to everything but air and water but even then hes probably sensitive lol I started adding back a few things and chicken was a huge reaction for him! The poor guy got inflamed ears and inflamed stomach and as soon as I took him off of our homemade chicken he got better so I definitely know hes allergic to that. Its annoying!

Do you ever add greens, broccoli, cauliflower, squash or anything like that? Your recipe is kinda like the vet gave me. Mine, however, is a one pot cook. It makes a weeks worth of food for my Taz

I do add pumpkin and have tried several variations of whatever is not on the list of allergies. The recipe is different each time. I have found that my dog Joey is a bit picky!

Bay didn't like peas either but she loves French cut green beans (frozen) and for egg replacement, I did broccoli, and baked cauliflower. since we both are allergic to turkey, chicken, eggs, I once a month give her salmon with skin on, and rabbit. But now that I saw how about Guinea pigs be maybe replace, Bay's meat protein with organ meat of heart/kidneys of beef, and blend with pork meat since I don't have rabbit meat source any longer. Wish living in apt. with no backyard wasn't so hard for going with food and meat grown/raised myself.

It's kind of crazy to look at your animal's allergy report. I did not have a clue how many things my dog was actually allergic to or sensitive to.

it's awful knowing as hard as we try to feed the best food for ourselves and our pets, seems over the yrs. its become difficult. I grew up a farm and GMO's were just being pushed like drugs onto farmers. But still in are own personal garden we stuck to the heirloom seeds and natural fertilizing/pest control but still was hard with crop dusting planes etc. on all sides and wind drift still would contaminate. But since my 20's Ive lived in cities and was unable to grow/raise my own food with limited space. so depending on commercial food for self and after my accident I've had S, Dog for the last 12 years I've struggled finding healthy food for her and both our allergies. Even buying premium human grade food for her doesn't guarantee the food inside the cans or bags don't have GMO veg./fruits or hormone injected meats. And that reading past the added salt that remaining ingredients have more than 1% of required nutrients/minerals etc. for good nutrition,

@@2shay337 You are spot on. The pesticide ingredient list should absolutely be posted on not only animals food but humans food as well. I think everybody has a right to know what our food is being fertilized and treated with. I've oftentimes thought about about how pesticides and chemicals are affecting us because it seems like I'm more unhealthy now that I was 20 years ago.. Since I've been feeding homemade dog food not even with Starbuck ingredients my dog has not had any ear infections! Kind of says something for the quality of food we are feeding our animals I guess.

My dog gets constant really bad ear infections that keep coming back, so I started to make my own dog food too !! So far so good but I feel like it’s too early to really tell !! Is this a symptom u would try if ur dog had this to make homemade food !!

Yes! Joey got really bad tummy rashes too. Paying for an allergy test is helpful too. Elimination diets are tricky but can help if you are consistent and patient. Turns out my dog is allergic to some synthetic fabrics too so we changed his bed cover and that helped alot.

If he hates peas dint give him peas. He hates them for a reason. Peas gave my dog really smelly gas. I believe he couldnt digest them.

How long can you keep it in the freezer?

I'll go through it pretty quickly but if I store long term I'll vacuum seal it and I'd guess it would last over a year.

I asked the lab people when my dog was tested and they said mincing meat changes the protein structure. So, beef chunks or broth may be tolerated, but not mince or meal. My girl has several allergies and suffers with itchy skin as a result. I am now working on restoring her gut health by giving kefir.

I was surprised to see meal, fat, broth, organs and meat from the same animal all have different tolerances. I would have thought if its from the same animal, it would all be an allergy but I guess not. Interesting for sure.
