    Great video for fellow owners of the W800 Cafe! I am struck by the comparative ease of a chain adjustment on my Ducati 900 GTS from 1979. It seems like all things motorcycle have become more complex over the years. By the way the GTS was also bevel drive and a great bike to own and ride with very easy maintenance. Thanks for putting this out there, I am thinking of getting the W800 standard at age 74!

      Thanks for watching! That Ducati sounds pretty cool. The standard w800 is really nice package and more comfortable over the Cafe’. Unless you really need the cafe colors and styling I’d go standard. Big plus is that it comes with a center stand 🤣

    I saw one of these in the shop yesterday. I want it badly. But I already have an '04 W650 so.... Yours will be grand.

      Thanks! Haven’t ridden a 650, but I’m sure it’s a blast as well!

    Nice relaxing vid , I just did my W650 , noticed moving it around that there was a tight-spot I didnt pick-up on...so did it again . there are two holes for the cotter-pin on mine (90degree to each other) might be the same on yours . Another bike guy (vid) pointed-out , not to move the upper chain-runs tension, when moving/measuring the lower chain-run . I think I might have done this the first time . Dave NZ

      Yeah, I just check the bottom of the chain. Thanks for watching and the comment!

    Hi from the UK .I have a 2017 triumph t100 .I have to take off the silencers to do the same job. The w800 is a lot better design.

      That’s what I hear from a lot of current/former Triumph owners. I haven’t owned a T100. It seems like a good bike tho. What differences did you specifically notice?

    Hey Bert, nice video. What is your idle speed when the bike is cold/warmed up? Thank you

    • @bertsbike
      @bertsbike  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Thanks for watching. On a cold start it idles at 1900-ish then drops to 900ish and levels out once warm to 1100ish. It stays there pretty much like clockwork.

      @@bertsbike That’s what I remember mine doing before but since I removed the throttle cables and adjusted them, cold start is 1500 and then goes below 1000 and stalls at times. I’ll need to adjust the idle speed. Thanks for letting me know.

      @@st.5218 Yeah if you check out my review on the bike there’s a shot of the cold start. Also there are some recommended numbers in the manual I believe.

    It’s easy to adjust the chain. What is not easy & a complete buzz kill for the café is cleaning the chain. No centre stand & the only real spot to do this is the rear sprocket with the back wheel on a spinner, but the bike is very heavy so no easy feat. I know this as I had one & sold it for this very reason.

      I agree. Cleaning the chain is a pain. The bike really does need to come with a center stand from the factory.
