Hey Jason, can I ask why on no A620? I just picked up an Asrock Pro a620 with a 7500f for 200 bucks. I thought it was a decent way to get myself on to the Am5 platform from the Am4 and drop this 5600x. Did I mess up or will this get me by for a while until I get a b650?
yes but i usually upgrade on a budget side, so my old 5 2600 to 5 5600x and GTX 1060 to used 3060Ti, its nice that i still have a path to upgrade to 5700x3D or 5800x3d before swapping to new platform on my Tomahawk b450 , i play on 1080p anyway, AM4 was the best release ever
@EverythingSim In general A620 boards don't support overclocking, even precision boost overdrive. However I have heard that some have PBO and I suspect that is because the mobo company forgot to disable it when creating the bios for that model. Check to see if your board supports PBO. With the 7500F you'd prefer to use PBO to get more performance out of that lower clocked CPU, but you may not even notice the difference unless you have a higher end GPU.

Yes the case isn't airtight but it is pretty close. The only real air gaps are at the PCIE slots other than the air intake at the bottom mesh, and if you really want just put some clear tape over them.
Heads up, A single stick of DDR5 will run in "dual channel" mode if you get at least 16GB. But will still run on average about 10% slower. That's a much smaller difference when comparing DDR4 single stick (single channel) vs two sticks (dual channel). And with DDR5 you don't have to worry too much about the rankings as they make an even smaller difference that can be caulked up to margin of error, when DDR4 getting the 4 ranks and not more/not less will see a 5% difference.
Man I love you LOL, I recently started to investigate about the best builds for a pc because I want to upgrade my ryzen 5 5500/ Nvdia 3050 combo and this just answered all of my questions and even gave me a better budget to work with. Thank you, keep doing great videos
Hello Jason 👋 my son is obsessed with building a PC for gaming & streaming. I have no clue about any of this but with thanks to your channel and one/two others i have made some progress. I intended to build a budget/mid 1440p PC & currently i have a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU, Noctua NH-9DL CPU cooler (as well as the cooler that comes with the 7600 cpu), Teamgroup T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 for Memory, Western Digital Black SN770 1TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME solid state for Storage, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1fan) ATX Mid Tower for the case, Corsair CV650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (which i may need to upgrade depending on the GPU?) and a 27inch Koorui monitor. So i have GPU and motherboard to buy, for the motherboard im swaying towards the Asrock B650 Steel Legend Wifi but for the GPU I'm a bit confused after watching this video. In previous videos you have recommended the Rx 6750 xt for a budget/mid 1440p build but for this video you have sugguested the Rx 7700 xt as minimum. On another channel ive also seen the Rx 6800 being a good choice. Is the Rx 6750 or Rx6800 good options for my build or should i definitely get the Rx 7700 xt? Thank you in advance and sorry for the long message 😅

Good to know the 1000 dollar value PC is back on the menu! Also if you're okay with opening up a GPU and re-pasting it, a used 4060Ti, 4070 or 4070Ti would be great if they're 10-15% off MSRP just for the DLSS (and light ray tracing)
Just built a 7600x pc and followed your recommendations closely. I paired it with a 7900 GRE since at the time it was the same price as a 7800 xt and less than a premium 7800 xt. Also got the B650 MSI Tomahawk, so far she's running great!

It runs great. 140 fps in wazone at ultra settings with zero upscaling needed. Crazy low input lag compared to previous systems I've had. I think I understood the assignment.😅
I just built a 7600x build. Corsair vengeance 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ram, with and rtx 2070 super (hand-me-down), 2tb 990 pro nvme, msi mag b650 tomahawk, kraken elite 240. In love with it, obviously next upgrade is my gpu, but I’m in no rush
I'm still rocking the 5600x with MSI B550-M Mortar wifi from 2021 :) runs great, managed to nab a 3060ti way back during covid before the market skyrocketed
Do you think the 7600X3D bundle at microcenter is worth it? Comes with ASUS B 650 PLUS (not sure how I feel about that motherboard) and G Skill DDR5-6000 RAM for $450? Looking to build my first PC and will be playing games like Valo and Call of Duty. What GPU would you recommend for it?
Since February I own a 7600X+(at the base 7600XT, but I switched to 7800XT). Insane value. Cost around ±215€ in France. Great motherboard who will not bottleneck a higher CPU (I said bottleneck due to weak VRM or just a few VRM so no Overclocking or only one 8-pin) for ±160€-180€. Great RAM 32GB kit (3000MHz CL30) for ±125€. Getting you CPU+MOBO+RAM for near 500€ (This system give me ±6140 point in CPU-Z 2.10) and over 15K in Cinebench (I think it was 15500 something close to that) WITHOUT overclocking (I mean, yeah technically everything higher than 2400MHz for RAM is overclocking but, hey, you understand). But honestly, the greatest performance is from my cat.
Built my first PC in January just playing around on pcpartpicker - Ryzen 7600, 7800xt, Vengeance DDR5 32GB 6000mhz CL30, ASRock B650M PRO RS, been killing 1440p on high/ultra settings for me! Glad to see a lot of my parts still being recommended months later, only jealous of how much cheaper they are now 😅
I’m going to be building my first pc and I did some research on what cpu I should buy and I just found this video thanks for the help and link to the other video
No that will be a huge GPU bottleneck sadly. You'll need to either upgrade your GPU asap or pair with a proper sized CPU for it. See our "Best Gpu/Cpu Combo 2024" video for more
Just built my PC last week with Ryzen 7600, RX7800XT, B650 AORUS Elite AX V2, Samsung 990 Evo 1tb (on sale at the time for 70$) T Force 32gb 6000 CL30 RAM.
I'm picking up a few of these parts for my birthday in December. Wish me luck! Upgrading from Ryzen 5 5600 AM4 Setup. Thanks for the suggestions and info!
I wanted to buy a rtx 4070 super in combo with the ryzen 7600x and my motherboard would be the ASUS TUF GAMING B650-E is this an good choice or should i opt for another one?
I’ve had absolutely zero issues running 4 16 GB sticks of gskill trident with my 7950x. Sure it’s a stronger chip than the one you’re talking about in this video but I’ve seen a lot of channels act like it’s impossible for Am5 to run four sticks. Updated bios, added two identical sticks to the ones I already had in it, enabled expo, and has worked flawlessly
I have been running 4x16gb sticks of ddr5 at 6000 mts on my 7800X3D for over a year. I am aware not all CPUs can pull it off tho. I won the Silicon lottery.
My recently built rig consists of a MSI B650 Gaming plus wifi, Ryzen 7600x/Arctic Freezer 36 RGB, Gibabyte Gaming OC RTX 4070ti, 2x 16gb Vengeance RGB 6400mt's 32cl, 4tb Crucial P3 plus(Gen4), Corsair RM850e PSU housed in a Be Quiet PB 500DX case. I bought all new components in various Black Friday/Ebay open auction sales for £1150($1500). My ram runs at 6400mt's on Expo/XMP with PBO on auto, apart from a few minor stability/blue screen/slow boot issues to begin with everything is now fine, even more so since I updated to the latest MSI bios( 7E26v1F). I also enabled Memory Context Control and Power Down mode in the bios to counter slow boot times which seem to be a thing with MSI boards, it's something I would recommend to your viewers if they are comfortable with tweaking in the bios .. Learned so much from your videos Jason, keep up the good work, Thank You.
I want to choose from 2 mobo msi b650m p or gigabyte b650m gaming plus wifi both are in bundle with 7 7700x and t group 6000mhz 32g ram for 498$ CAD which one should i pick ?
I'm planning to build a 7600x PC and i've seen the MSI Pro B650-S Wifi motherboard and it looks decent but i haven't heard you talk about it. Is this one worth buying instead of, per example, the MSI Pro B650M-A Wifi?
Glad you liked it. I don't but will be dependent on the GPU you end up going with and the resolution you play at. Should be quite high with the 7800 XT we used.
It’s „Jason-time“, wohooo!!! 🎉 Btw. I like the MSI B650m Gaming plus wifi. It looks very nice and is cheaper than the Pro Rs that you recommended. I think it has the same features. 🤔
2:39 why not recommend the Intel Arc A770 16gb for moderate budget builds, I was able to pick one up brand new for $240 on newegg. Additionally haven’t the drivers came a long way since its initial release? I’ve heard that it is somewhat comparable to a 4060 ti especially in 1440p gaming. Just a question, love the guides!
Been looking online for so many mainboards with DDR 4 ram and Processors,Got from now to new year to think on what upgraded hardware to get for my old gaming computer,Then I be upgrading it to Windows 11,Had my old gaming computer since 2020,Been 4 years now,Getting out datted and slow,Also won't load Windows 11,Im back to Windows 10 again

Depends on the part but yes! These builds, absolutely a good time as prices are rising on things like RAM, SSDs and possibly cases. But this is one of the only CPUs I'd recommend buying right now so it really depends on what you are looking for. The next big sales will be October Prime Day but we have no way to know what parts will go on sale and what will go up as it sells through
I recently won 50k off a scracth off and i was looking for the best prebuild 4090 option i can buy without breaking my bank. Prob would spend 4k w/o feeling guilty. Im not bullshitting either I would seriously like some advice, aint tryna waste money and want a kickass pc.
@@Dinksten Wait for the 5090. Might release next month, If it doesn't come out next month then id buy a 4090 / 7800x3d Prebuilt around the 2.7k - 3k range. Research up a bit before pulling the trigger. Gratz!
Yeah, CPU def go for 7800x3d, and Gpu either wait for new releases or go for 4090. Every other component is up to you, but wouldn't spend much over 200$ on Motherboard since there are plenty of choice in that price range, SSD's and RAM is pretty much personal choice. Then for the case and power supply just go for basic stuff and you should be fine around 2500/3000 spent
if you want the best 4090 build period then do the research and build it your self a prebuilt will never ever be as good for what ever the price is you are investing, then what you can build your self in my opion if my 12 year old grand daughter can build one i beleave any one can and she did it all on her own just watching u tube creators build them , it was so fun watching her do it without any advice or help from me. buiding your own to the custom way you want it to be , there is no better machine out there that will satisfie you more then the one that is your own design.
This is gonna be big upgrade from 9400f and 2060 to this. Ty a lot Jason i gonna buy this i know its price little high but i want to be cool about 3-5 years.
Glad I could help!! Actually the price to performance on building a gaming PC right now is really insane. Yes GPUs are a touch higher but all the other components are so cheap it massively offsets them. I think people obsess over GPU prices too much without looking at everything else.
Dear PC Builder, You and everybody else keep telling that an A620 Mobo can not use Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO). In my BIOS (AS Rock A620i Lightning WiFi and installed the 7600X) I still can Enable it. A note says that the PBO will let the CPU use its maximum Potential to the Limits of The Motherboard. Is it maybe the only A620 that has it or is it a "non real PBO".
Will it be fine to pair the 7600x with a 6900xt for 1440p gaming? I found some used 6900xt cards for less than 500 usd (the Gigabyte Gaming OC one) and buying brand new cards like 4070 super is out of my budget
On a 5600x, AM4 ROG mobo, DDR 4 RAM, 3080, RM650 PSU. Just bought a 7900 XT and ohhhhh mama, I need to upgrade I think. Sure, it'll run with my 5600x but it'll be held back even at 1440p max settings. Also just bought a RM850X PSU to get a higher wattage and another PCI-E cable as the 650 only has 2, and the 7900 XT requires 3. I'll be getting an ASUS TUF Gaming B650-Plus WiFi I think as they're pretty cheap now and does everything well while being great build and value, replace the DDR4 for DDR5, and get a 7600x for now. The 5800X3D is more expensive and while better, it's the "best in AM4 slot" and I have to move to AM5. While the 7600x is not the best CPU, it's pretty cheap and will do the job fine for now. I can then swap out in a gen or 2 from now when the 9000 drops in price, at least I have expansion room until around 2030 when AMD drop AM5.
pwde kaya mag build ng am5 na walang gpu legue of legends lang kasi nilalaro ko at youtube movies any suggestions msi at asus prefer ko mb at ryzen 7 cpu edit black build sana
@@PCBuilderChannel sry for asking again lol but does the pulse version have any downsides in performance compared to the gigabyte? or is it the same just with less cooling
I like the board, and it has ALC1200 upgraded audio. If you have high impedance headphones and want to plug in without an external DAC, I'd recommend moving up to ALC1220 or 4080 so the Tomahawk, ASUS Strix-A are good boards.
@@PCBuilderChannel If I were upgrading my cpu in the future would it be better to go for something like the 12900k, or just wait it out and try for something like the 14600k?
Good case, I just think it tends to be overpriced but if you want that one go for it! After all, you are the one who needs to be satisfied when you look at it!
Hey i bought the Skytech RtX 4090 build you recommend. It came with a Kingston 2TB SSD M.2 nv2 pcie 4.0 nvme. should i be concerned? A lot of reviews say this is the cheapest brand and it will fail in less then a year. I’m worried please let me know if you think i should return the pc?

I’m thinking of going from the i7 10750H to the 7600x, would that be a good upgrade? Thanks!
Algorithm Appeasing Alliteration!
Thank you for the build.
I won't be going AM5 for at least another couple years, but I do like following them.
Thank you for appeasing the algorithm gods!!! :)
Congrats on your build!
i just built with this same cpu 7600x with rx6900xt 1year back
Awesome! Congrats on the build and I hope it has done well for you!
Thanks a lot for this video. I've already chosen almost 100% the specs said here but this made me sure about my decisions.
Glad I could help!
It’s crazy how you’re always so spot on what I am searching for
Love it when the timing is good!
As someone who hates rgb I specifically went with the hdv board for my 7800x3d
I'm still rocking the 5600x with MSI B550-M Mortar wifi from 2021 :) runs great, managed to nab a 3060ti way back during covid before the market skyrocketed
Nice!
What GPU would you recommend for it?
i took my chances got the bundle at microcenter for the 7600x3d it has zero issues glad i got it , so far its awesome no regret's at all
oh and im using a 7900 gre love it period matches great with the bundle
The 7600x3d won’t bottleneck basically any gpu. At that point it’s just whatever gpu you can afford
Good drop Jason. This gives me alternative build ideas with a newer AMD CPU generation.
Glad I could help!!!!
I set multiple world records in 3D-MARK with this system haha. Very proud.
The cat is key
Would an AMD RX6750 XT be a good video card for a 7600?
Subscribe. You saved me a lot of time and money. I didn't know that much information about the things I'm buying. Please keep doing this!
Thank you! I’m so glad to hear we could help
i have an asrock b650m h/m.2 + is that fine ??
Built my first PC in January just playing around on pcpartpicker - Ryzen 7600, 7800xt, Vengeance DDR5 32GB 6000mhz CL30, ASRock B650M PRO RS, been killing 1440p on high/ultra settings for me! Glad to see a lot of my parts still being recommended months later, only jealous of how much cheaper they are now 😅
Congrats on the build!!!!
I’m going to be building my first pc and I did some research on what cpu I should buy and I just found this video thanks for the help and link to the other video
Glad you found us and happy to help!
Will my Zotac GTX 1660 ti 6gb go well with the ryzen 7600X ?
No that will be a huge GPU bottleneck sadly. You'll need to either upgrade your GPU asap or pair with a proper sized CPU for it. See our "Best Gpu/Cpu Combo 2024" video for more
Just built my PC last week with Ryzen 7600, RX7800XT, B650 AORUS Elite AX V2, Samsung 990 Evo 1tb (on sale at the time for 70$) T Force 32gb 6000 CL30 RAM.
Congrats on your build!
I'm picking up a few of these parts for my birthday in December. Wish me luck! Upgrading from Ryzen 5 5600 AM4 Setup. Thanks for the suggestions and info!
You're so welcome! Good luck, sending savings vibes your way!! :)
I wanted to buy a rtx 4070 super in combo with the ryzen 7600x and my motherboard would be the ASUS TUF GAMING B650-E is this an good choice or should i opt for another one?
yeah just saw it xD
Was it a good idea if i go with 7600x with my current gpu 6600xt em also gonna upgrade it next year
Hi! what's your opinion on the i7 12700k compared to the Ryzen 7600x? Thanks!
I think it was Wendell over at lvl1tech that found 2 sticks performed better in his initial review of zen 4. That was like 2 years ago though.
Good to hear!
Thanks for sharing and congrats on your build!
I want to choose from 2 mobo msi b650m p or gigabyte b650m gaming plus wifi both are in bundle with 7 7700x and t group 6000mhz 32g ram for 498$ CAD which one should i pick ?
The Gigabyte Gaming Plus Wifi seems a little better to me but either is probably fine.
Asus ap201 or corsair air 4000d airflow which case 2 go with for a new build? am4 or 5
I have a question. Ram Gskill ripjaws 5600 doesn't show expo so it will run with bus 5600 or just 4800 ?. My mainboard is msi b650m gaming plus wifi
I'm planning to build a 7600x PC and i've seen the MSI Pro B650-S Wifi motherboard and it looks decent but i haven't heard you talk about it. Is this one worth buying instead of, per example, the MSI Pro B650M-A Wifi?
Thank you again! Do you have the fps for call of duty for this setup?
Glad you liked it. I don't but will be dependent on the GPU you end up going with and the resolution you play at. Should be quite high with the 7800 XT we used.
This came at the right time, I'm finally going to upgrade my 2700x GTX 970 PC, its been a long time 🥲
Is 48GB 6000 overkill for the X or non X?? That’s what I bought for the same price as 32GB from Crucial
Wow this video is so good covering every thing for begineers like me😊
So glad to help!
Is Deepcool LS520S Zero Dark enough to cool the Ryzen 7600x? Or is it better if I use Deepcool AK620 Zero Dark?
It’s „Jason-time“, wohooo!!! 🎉
Btw. I like the MSI B650m Gaming plus wifi. It looks very nice and is cheaper than the Pro Rs that you recommended. I think it has the same features. 🤔
Thanks for the tip!
7600x here! No regrets so far
Nice!
I wish TDP was accurate when it came to CPUs. We need to have PPT become the new standard for power.
For gaming is it better the 7600X or the 7800x3d?
is the QICK309 Radeon RX 7600XT and the 7600x a good combo?
My recommendation is to go up to the 7700 XT if you can as it is way faster for the money. But if you can't that is fine as well.
i got the 7600x its lit af
Thanks for the vids Jason and Sarah!
Pls bring back the under USD 200/USD250 suggestions for the monthly GPU recommendations 🙏🙏
So glad you enjoyed! And heard!
Built my pc few months ago an had been running perfectly n I love it fr
7600x ,4070, Corsair vengeance ddr5 32gb cl32 Samsung 980 pro ASUS rogstrix b650a mobo peerless assassin air cooler corsair rm750
Congrats on your build!
What build is recommended if I care about fast computations but not gaming?
Is this a good time to buy pc parts? if not when would you recommend to buy?
Depends on the part but yes! These builds, absolutely a good time as prices are rising on things like RAM, SSDs and possibly cases. But this is one of the only CPUs I'd recommend buying right now so it really depends on what you are looking for. The next big sales will be October Prime Day but we have no way to know what parts will go on sale and what will go up as it sells through
I recently won 50k off a scracth off and i was looking for the best prebuild 4090 option i can buy without breaking my bank. Prob would spend 4k w/o feeling guilty. Im not bullshitting either I would seriously like some advice, aint tryna waste money and want a kickass pc.
i have a prebuild cyberpower with a 3070 12th gen i7-12700kf
Love the build! I have a ryzen 5 7600x and a rtx 4070 Ti super and unfortunately it bottlenecks sometimes on some games
Thanks, Jason. This is a very helpful video. Keep 'em comin" :-)
So glad it was helpful!
@@PCBuilderChannel Yes you are right thats why i always watching and listening you. 😁
Do you think it’s worth it going from 5800x3d to 9000 series?
Thinking about upgrading to a 4070 so i can play 1440, are my components compatible?
7600x
MSI B650M-A pro
32gb ddr5 6000 cl36
650w bronze psu
Yes though Jason prefers 6000 CL30 for RAM.
Also if in the US I think the 7800XT and 7900GRE offer better value for Gaming vs a 4070.
Dear PC Builder,
You and everybody else keep telling that an A620 Mobo can not use Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO).
THISIS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! THANKS MAN! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT, bless your heart dude.
You're very welcome! Happy to help!
Will it be fine to pair the 7600x with a 6900xt for 1440p gaming? I found some used 6900xt cards for less than 500 usd (the Gigabyte Gaming OC one) and buying brand new cards like 4070 super is out of my budget
Totally fine. It's about as fast as the 7900 GRE.
Would the Montech air 903 base be a better preforming case option? I’m just looking for performance rather than looks.
That's a good value case too
Built my pc on Saturday with 3080 ti, 7600x, msi pro mobo, aqua 3, dominator platinum ram, and a thermal right aio
Congrats on your build!
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you!
I bought a brand new b650 tomahawk off fb marketplace for $60. Such a crazy steal
wow!
Hi im a fan your full of energy and seem happy all the time
On a 5600x, AM4 ROG mobo, DDR 4 RAM, 3080, RM650 PSU.
Is the 7800 sapphire pulse a good option for the r5 7600x? thinking of making a build with one but idk if I should get a diff gpu or not
Good combo!
@@PCBuilderChannel sry for asking again lol but does the pulse version have any downsides in performance compared to the gigabyte? or is it the same just with less cooling
is Asus TUF GAMING B650 PLus Wifi board good with 7600x?
I like the board, and it has ALC1200 upgraded audio. If you have high impedance headphones and want to plug in without an external DAC, I'd recommend moving up to ALC1220 or 4080 so the Tomahawk, ASUS Strix-A are good boards.
So I have Ryzen 5 7600 and I'm waiting for 7900xt Pulse to be delivered, i will play 2k, would you think i really need a CPU upgrade?
No that’s a fine combo, it’s actually my combo for my personal gaming rig
Dang I built my pc about a year ago with a 12600k and 3060ti its great to know I have a “great” upgrade path 😢
So frustrating I know!
@@PCBuilderChannel If I were upgrading my cpu in the future would it be better to go for something like the 12900k, or just wait it out and try for something like the 14600k?
@@ItsMintyGDif wanting to upgrade soon the 12900K but you'd want to upgrade your GPU before you do that.
May I ask if the corsair 3000d rgb a good case for ryzen 7600x thanks also keep up the good work
Good case, I just think it tends to be overpriced but if you want that one go for it! After all, you are the one who needs to be satisfied when you look at it!
@@PCBuilderChannel thanks also at my country it costs 80euros that's why
What do you think about the 7500f?
Great CPU if you can get it, and this build guide will work great for it.
Do you have a combo recommendation for video editor build?
If you have the budget the best would be our 9950X build guide, and that guide also covers the 7950X or 7900X.
Looking to upgrade to a 7600 CPU but I’ve got a 6750xt. There won’t be any bottlenecks right?
That's a fine combo
Hey i bought the Skytech RtX 4090 build you recommend. It came with a Kingston 2TB SSD M.2 nv2 pcie 4.0 nvme. should i be concerned? A lot of reviews say this is the cheapest brand and it will fail in less then a year. I’m worried please let me know if you think i should return the pc?
Not at all, thats one of the ones I use. See our Best SSD for Gaming 2024 video for more
Is this a worthwhile upgrade from an I7 10700f?
As long as you have a GPU that won't bottleneck is yes
This build would give you a huge boost but in terms of an "upgrade" from an existing pc it will depend on the rest of your system. See our "how to upgrade your pc 2024" video for more
hey so would a rx 7900 gre be perfect with the 7600x or is there a slight bottleneck. i currently have a 7600x and 3070 8gb so i just want a good 1440p gaming experience
That would be a great combo
Good combo
