    I mostly only use BIC, Feather and Treet carbons in my razors now. The treets are a one use only blade for me, the Feather two or three times and the BIC three or four.

    I do like the BICs, funny they are my no. 6 as well!
    Astras were my first blade, but way down on my list!
    Gillette Black's are sitting in 10th spot for me.
    Derby Premiums are on my TDL. Thanks for the reviews!

      @PinkWoolf Since this posting, I retested the Astra blades, and they are now at the top of my rank order. It's funny how things work.

      @@Sola_Scriptura_1.618 true that. I’ve realised that the shaving favourites keep changing ever so often and that’s the beauty of wet traditional shaving. So many choices ☺️

    thank you for this
    compariing the below interms of comfort and sharpness how would you rank them?
    Astra
    Gillete Nacet
    Feather
    Treet

    • @PinkWoolf
      @PinkWoolf  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Comfort - Astra and Nacet at the top followed by Feather.
      Sharpness - Feather, Nacet, and Astra.
      I have never used Treet so can't comment on it.
      Two others that I recommend are the Gillette 7O'Clock Super Platinum (if you can find any) and the BIC Chrome Platinum that is a super balance between Sharpness and Comfort.

    I think the only surprise to me was the Gillette 7 O'clock. My experience has been they seem incredibly blunt.

      That's the beauty of wet traditional shaving. Each shaver has multiple options to pick from in blades and what works for one person may not work for the other.
      Have a great day ahead.

    Loved your selection of blades! Personally my favourite are Laser Ultra Triple coated and Gillette Wilkinson Sword, i have sensitive skin and a very patchy beard so these work very well for me. I use them with the Parker 91r which is my personal favourite (i have only tried 4 different razors and this is the best one xD) and they give me smooth shaves with upto 5-6 shaves per blade!

    • @PinkWoolf
      @PinkWoolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing! There is another video coming up where I will cover the other blades like Wilkinson and Laser too. At the end of the day, as pointed out, each blade has a love affair with a skin type, so it becomes difficult to say that this is a super blade for all! I am glad you found the right blade and razor for your skin.

  • @sandynator

    Great initiative 👍
    Glatz blade is an underdog which needs recognition for sure. Very much better to Gillette Wilkinson Sword. It's on thicker side so goes well with any razors without chatter.
    Feather blade in any aggressive/efficient razor is treat for sure if the technique is perfect. Put that in Muhle R41 & see how well behaved it is.
    Been there done that.😅

    Wouldn't mind if you add beyond these 6 blades to your sample packs either.

    Some people might find that a few uses on any one Feather blade may not tug as the blade becomes duller, but instead the cutting of the hair becomes less efficient while yet not tugging.

    What i have observed is that Carbon Steel Blades like Supermax are way more comfortable for Skin rather than Stainless Steel ones.

    • @PinkWoolf
      @PinkWoolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is true as well. The Carbon steel blades are made with a softer steel hence shaves better. For lack of a proper comparison, it's like using the Mizuno Irons (made with carbon steel) compared to other cast iron/ stainless steel irons. It takes time to get used the Mizuno but once you do, the results are unparallel.
      Have a great day ahead Sir.

    I've tried several different blades from Amazon (US) , and several of them, even with Western names like Sheffield, are labelled as "Made in Russia."
    Seems like te Western manufacturers may have given up on '" safey razors."

    • @PinkWoolf
      @PinkWoolf  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a love & hate relationship. All companies want scale and hence go for the shaving razor with cartridges that provide CONVENIENCE and EASE. But you are right, the level of research that goes into cartridge razors vs safety razors is completely lopsided. For daily shaves, I prefer any blade as mostly I use it for a single shave. Cheers

      BIC are made in Greece and Derby are made in Turkey if that helps.
      I find the BIC seem to improve to match a new Feather in sharpness and a Feather settles down to be like a new BIC. So for me I find them almost equal except BIC are much cheaper.
