On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Former Thunderbirds pilot Ryan Bodenheimer (TH-cam channel "Max Afterburner") has been bringing a real-life famous Top Gun pilot, callsign Grey Ghost, onto his channel to fly in his simulator. He's still getting used to flying in DCS instead of in a real aircraft (apparently the F-16 stick doesn't move in a real aircraft, you just press against it?). Anyway, you might try to help him get used to the simulator, and then perhaps you could fly against each other, once he gets the hang of it. Apparently he won lots of Top Gun awards. The video Ryan has of him is titled "F-16 Gray Ghost Pilot DESTROYS Russian Fighter Jets in DCS".

Every time GS says "Everything's fine" or "We're good" I tense up, knowing the missile can smell those words and wants blood.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the missile had the willpower to just phase through the hill at that point

I love Gripen but I seriously miss Viggen in the Swedish airforce…even it would be technically outdated now if not upgraded, but the power of those engines 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That shot reminded me of a chapter from Pierre Clostermanns book.
His flight of Spitfires were escorting a flight of Hawker Typhoons over the english channel carrying a payload each of a 500 pound bomb under each wing, but still doing 600km/h - 380mph.
At 30feet altitude.
The Spitfires were struggeling to keep up.
Can't believe how high they were flying, but makes for a beautiful shot indeed.

How does a METEOR fired fired from 500' at ~10 miles have a higher PK..?
Than an R77 fired from 14,000' and ~10 miles ...? Easy. It's kinematic magic:
See..? NATO missiles can CLIMB _and_ accelerate to Mach 2.5 ...
Faster (somehow) than a Russian rocket can hit Mach 4.5 ... in a dive.
It's perfectly explicable: Once you realize the devs are rabid nationalist nazis who can't stand Russians.
That Gripen with that paint scheme is such a beautifully terrifying machine.
I like this style of video where you have a little scenario, makes it a bit more interesting even though it doesn't really change much in terms of what you do in the video other than give some context. I also like that you added some annotations about what and why you do things.
Switzerland decided between buying new fighter jets last year, and they picked the F-35 over the Gripen. would love to see a BVR fight between these two sometime! :D

All Orion had to do was stay low for one more round and then could've chased you down and splashed you with an R-77-1 after your last Meteor shot.

Yeah, he went cold too quick after shooting his last 77. Could've gone to Gripen's 6 since GS didn't have time to fire back on that round. Or at the very least hang back on the other side of GS's little hill
That turbine sound was nearly spot on. Live just outside SAAB Test aera so I have Gripen E humming around here. And when they come in low and fast You get that turbine whistle..

I've seen it before in other videos, when you're defending a fox 3, why are you dropping flares? Are the countermeasures combined in DCS? If not, what its the rationale for using flares on a non-ir seeker?
sometimes you see flares because some aircraft run programs where they drop both flare and chaff.
which is actually pretty useful if you're fighting these russian fighters, because russian doctrine is to take a long fox2 shot and then a follow up fox3 shot so you have to always assume there is some IR missile in the air when fighting the russians.

Such a lovely little jet that Gpripen. Wish the Dutch would have seen the value of it. We to are a small nation and that low cost (for a fighter jet atleast) mobile plane would have been just perfect for our small size.
