  • Hang out with me while I walk through re-potting my root-bound Sansevieria Moonshine, and share how I determine when my plants are root-bound to the point where they are not getting enough hydration despite a regular watering schedule.

Black Gold cactus mix is very fast draining and way better than the Miracle Grow cactus mix I used to use. The Miracle Grow retained too much water. Black Gold cactus mix actually doesn't contain perlite at all but instead pumice, earthworm castings, compost, and forest humus. I love it!

Good to know! I thought the "perlite" looked a little strange-- pumice makes more sense. I've used their potting soil a few times for my houseplants-- it's actually all that I use with my edible plants, but have never tried the cactus soil until now. It really drained like a dream. :)

Beautiful plant. It looks like someone drew a thin black line around the edge of the leaves. Nature is just amazing!

Agreed. Watching the changes my plants go through as they mature blows my mind. I have one that is currently changing from bluish/green centers to bright pink and even though I see it everyday, I still can't believe it. :)

It may sound weird but my grandma got me the exact set of garden tools and that one shovel looks exactly like mine😂
Beautiful plant by the way, looks better than mine!

Hi! Just found your channel and subscribed :)
I ended up picking up a very very similar plant, same pot, same size. My question is about the multiple I guess i'd call them stems or bunches of leaves coming out of the ground. Is the reason you don't repot them all separately because you want to keep it one bigger plant/it doesn't need to be replanted into separate pots? Thank you!

Hi! 😊 Yes--I did want to keep these three together and they should do just fine in the same pot for now. We'll see what happens as they get larger! However, when other sansevieria that I have put out pups, I do tend to separate them. I have a video where I propagated one for a friend, by removing and potting its pup, here: th-cam.com/video/3RZQP8O58Es/w-d-xo.html.
