Though hailed as one of the most resilient houseplants, the ever common snake plant may develop some issues from time to time. Here we see one of mine that needs a little extra help. Let's troubleshoot this one together. Feel free to share what you would do in this case too in the comments below.

personally with snakes you dont have to water them more than every 2 months, but you gotta make sure you absolutely soak the soil at least once every 2 months, you could also water it once a month tho, maybe even 3 weeks. they like water they just dont necessarily need it too often. Good luck with Your snakey Summer

i like planting in thin plastic containers, like the ones you get as default pots on most plants at the store. I cut slits down the pot from top to bottom every 6 inches or so around the pot, as well as a bunch of holes on the bottom of the pot, allowing the soil to breathe easily. Doing this You dont even have to use perlite as long as you dont overwater too much

i did something similar to mine then added cuttings of a different plant so the pot may still look good, I hope this will do me good in the long run

i bought my snake plant 4 years ago, and when i bought it i repotted it into a very large 1.7 x 2 foot pot . Since then it has grown in size about 300%, offshot several pups that have outgrown the mother. Just like any plant I guess, they like space to expand

The other day, I thought there was a weed growing out of my Snake Plant, turns out it's flowering... I didn't even know Snake Plants do that.

I have two snake plants I'm starting from cuttings and sheesh they take a loooong time to take off! One is two leaves and the other is still the original stem I've rooted. They are both almost two years old. Good things come up those who wait, I guess 🤷‍♀️

i put rocks in the top of mine to hold them in, but its rare, that these will really snap back, once they dry out, like this , its very hard to save them, i normally whack off the bad leaves and save what i can, that seems to promote growth

Ive had snake plants like summers. Its due to neglect of watering on my part. What I do is I take out all the soil rinse the roots and put it in water. It has much faster recovery for me. Some of my snake plants is in water for months and their growing fine😉.

I would usually get rid of the droopy or yellow dry leaves and plant them in new potting mix... The substrate i use and the snake plants are doing great in there is normal potting mix + perlite + vermiculite + compost + river sand.
