As a Russian-New Zealand adoptee, adopted at the age of two from an orphanage in Arkhangelsk, Russia, I share what I've been learning on my journey with my upbringing here in New Zealand, my current life, and how I connected with my birth family. I also share what my bloodline means for me with those connections from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Very sweet of Vera to take you to places, Yuri Gagarin’s memorial and a train museum full of history. Thanks for taking us there too! Those are beautiful wooden houses surrounded with beautiful trees. Looking forward to seeing “Kiwi” growing taller as an evergreen tree!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This video was great and beautiful Vera is great and i am alway,s amazed that at almost 70 i never thought i would see Russia .and i rember the frist man in space . Also Russia had the frist sattlite and Women in space thank you for this. He was so young.
Loved this video! So educational and entertaining and funny. In Canada we call those wooden houses "log cabins" or "log houses".

Caucasus is great but the Black sea shore might remind him of NZ a bit too much, although it's the only Riviera for Russians:)

Such a cool and interesting video, Alex! I never knew Russians were into the log cabin-look until I started watching Sasha and Masha’s videos on the I_am_puma & I_am_cheetah YT channels since their house it that way. It makes sense though seeing as how you showed us that the landscape has a lot of lodgepole pines. Please give my thanks to Vera, too for showing all of us those places as well. Yuri G’s memorial 🧑🏻🚀💐 was something that a lot of us travelers may not get to and I’m glad that you guys didn’t get gobbled up by the famished bears coming out of hibernation. I love all the project's with Vera, you two were full of adventure in Russia. Very beautiful country side to enjoy. Great to travel with you guys and see some interesting things. We have the same log cabin's in South-Africa. They are nice and warm in winter.

Who is Vera?
She's a friend of Alex's that he met when he first went to Russia :)
If you have played Far Cry 5, you know that there is an evil character "Faith" in Russian, the name of this character translates as " Vera". Australia is now in danger, it is scarier than Petrov and Bashirov. Urgently evacuate all the kangaroos in the Vologda region, you will not be saved, we will save at least them.
I'm genuinely surprised there are people at those museums who can speak English (kind of).
