Here on my channel I share my journey, topics for adoptees, my vlogs, and support for others adopted, including their stories and journeys with my An Adoption Story series.
As a Russian-New Zealand adoptee, adopted at the age of two from an orphanage in Arkhangelsk, Russia, I share what I've been learning on my journey with my upbringing here in New Zealand, my current life, and how I connected with my birth family. I also share what my bloodline means for me with those connections from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Thank you for giving us all the gift of this experience. And thank you even more for giving this life altering gift to your birth father.
You seem so brave and sweet and kind. All of these people who raised you and loved you are so proud and so should you be.
It was very special that Misha was there with you and your former caretaker was still at the orphanage! I know these are just snippets, but for you, these videos are such a beautiful way to preserve these key moments and discoveries. All the best to you, Alex
Hi, Alex! I saw your father in the shop пятерочка😁 I was in shocked, I didn't know that I living near your father😊
A small world of course! Next time say hello- I’m sure he would have liked that!
It had to mean SO FUCKING MUCH to Olga, to see you--alive, well, _prospering_
That's a great video Alex, spoken from your heart. It is exciting to see your family tree grow and I hope you can find any missing links as soon as.
Misha is SO much like you! Not only your happy personality and looks but his heart as well. I know you’d never have been in that orphanage had he known you were coming but then you wouldn’t have gone to your amazing parents and been raised with such love by them. They will always be Mom and Dad to you.
How wonderful to connect with your heritage.
😊 I could put this picture of you and your dad up just to make me happy every minute. The natural mimic of the love and the smile is so beautiful. I'm smiling too. Thank you.
It is understandable that this trip was important to you but I also get the impression that you "took charge" of your past and managed to blend it in with the present. Writing these words was easy, but to actually do it must have been harder. Well, you succeeded and my hope is that things will change to the better soon so you can go back and connect more with your birth parents and siblings. It would also make it possible for them to go to New Zealand one day and I'm confident that good things will win in the end.
Life is something special.
Great story and thanks for supporting the orphanage. Was great to see familiar places as I was born and grew up in Arkhangelsk. Moved to Australia and haven't been there for 12 years..
Mischa seems so nice and kind!
Good to see you again. God Bless. Jean
You're an inspiration for humanity.
Well Done! Alex...another lovely update to share with us. I enjoyed every minute and particularly loved the way you included your birth Dad and those wonderful people at your ' old ' orphanage. Your ongoing life journey is so heart warming and very uplifting. Thankyou again Alex ...and Best Wishes always to you and yours❤
Very touching. I've followed your story for years now. It's always good to see updates and news about your journey.
I didn't know about your half brother 😢
Love watching your videos
How do u like our city for real?
Great video! Loved it all! Maybe one day you’ll be moved to adopt one of those children and bring it full circle. You’d be a fantastic parent! Blessings to you and yours. ❤
how fantastic that you not only got to spend time with your dad, but to visit the orphanage and his parents resting place - i know that it is important as a dad to pass on the experience and knowledge of such meaningful places with your child. you seem wise beyond your years, humble and grateful - i love that you put so much effort into helping others, knighthood material oneday perhaps? :)
Pretty Kool, man, I would think they're
many people like your father, have an unknown child!
I think so too. Sadly yes. As it’s important to know your family of course!
I can feel the love your father has for you❤
Not much touches me like your videos do. Thanks Sasha Alex!
You have the same smile as Misha!
You have your dad smile and thanks for showing us your journey
You are so lovable.
