Giovanni, Near's right hand man basically, the real MVP of his team. Near of course is incredibly smart though. Also Near at the very start when we see him is 13, post time skip, which is the majority of his time on screen he is in his late teens. Typically thought to be around 18. Given everything we know, he could be seen as maybe on the scale of autistic or some other sort of social or mental scale.. Of course like I said he's a genius level intellect, but that doesn't mean socially he's that adept, much like L
@@LeonC0704 Yeah like Giovanni has like BALLS for doing what he did. He could have easily been killed since a lot is unknown about the extent of the powers of the Death note and it's rules, or just getting caught by Mikami and then being killed possibly. Not to mention the things he does in the future episodes. While Near is the brains, he does of course need those who are physically and mentally capable to go out and do things
L already knew that Light was Kira, he just had no proof due to Light's plan which made him lose his memory. L will always be the goat but Near and Mello are great as well!
Ok I just thought of something. When this was made, did Japan have laws similar to the U.S. where an investigator needs to have warrants and stuff before going through a suspected person's belongings? Iirc, in U.S. courts, isn't it possible that certain evidence can be thrown out if it wasn't gathered in a legal manner? Or am mistaken?

yeah people tend to forget that people in Near's team are special agents.

Near isn’t using “L’s findings”, L had Watari delete all his evidence. Give that boy his flowers. Melo too.
Tbf the anime skips a good portion of nears investigation around this point. The manga is much clearer
