I don't get why people are against Light. Isn't he killing criminals so that he can save millions of innocent lives. Light is not killing agents because they are just opposing him, they are trying to catch and execute him. So if Light kill them isn't it consider self defence and why in the first place L and other agents try to catch Light and even called Light an evil person 😢 Isn't it L and other agents who are trying to kill Light because he is opposing them. Light didn't go to them, they are the one came after him.
The leaders of each country then have a similar god complex because they have the final vote in deciding who will die and who will live. So Kira is not evil, but simply a competing force with the Japanese government, and since the source of funding for this anime is Japan, it's pretty obvious what final ideas they will bring to the anime in terms of evaluating the morality of the main characters. Kira originally wanted to cooperate with the Japanese power structures, even though he was the main person. People are just afraid to give one person that kind of power, that's the main problem.
Who knew a show about a teenager writing some names down could be so stressful and unique. One of my favorite animes right here. It's always nice to see people's differing reactions to Light as our Protagonist
L was able to determine Kira's general location because while the broadcast was announced worldwide, it was actually being broadcasted to a specific region, meaning only those in that region would be able to kill Lind L. Taylor.

Miyano Mamoru and Brad Swaile both gave excellent performances for Light. I prefer the Japanese dub, but, like you said, they are both very good that, even though I have my personal preference, I also really like the English dub.

This is a straight up classic you’re experiencing Morgan. Death Note is so damn good for so many different reasons. One of the most recurring themes in this show, is how much of blazing hypocrite Kira is.
You should watch the dub, this anime is the one exception where the dub is better than the sub. Their voice actors could not have been cast better, they suit the characters perfectly and makes some scenes and moments waaayyyy better in my opinion
Not meant to be hate, but I dont get why so many reactors think the the heart attack was the guy faking it at first, why would he know to fake it exactly on time with the notebook and that it can even kill magically from far away it doesnt make any sense

One thing.. At the end, when Lind L. Taylor had a heart attack... How would L have known the exact time to fake a heart attack? If L had used a fake name and actually did show his face, he would have learned nothing. He needed to test his theory that someone was using an unknown method of killing at a distance with real situations.

And then they probably overrate the actual quality of the dub since it's nostalgic to them, because it's how they experienced it for the first time when they were younger
Agreed. Light's VA kills it, as does L and Ryuk's. It's pretty rare that a dub can actually hold its own in a fandom, but it's understandable if people prefer the original version.

Every freaking time a reactor decides to watch this or FMAB in sub people just get mad for no reason. Not every viewer grew up watching english dubs, sub is generally better for most audiences as we're all used to it so stop complaining. Also, japanese VAs are in another level.

It's not about people "growing up" watching media in their own language. That's the default, and most audiences do not prefer watching shows in languages they don't understand. The reason animes are commonly watched in sub is because comparable dubs are not present for their respective shows (whether due to poor quality or delayed release dates). This is NOT the case for Death Note or FMAB. The dub/sub are on par with each other (saying anything else is utter cope), and as an English speaker, there is no justification to watch it in a language you don't understand.

I saw this anime 10 years ago, I liked it, I did not see it again since then and now that I see it in your reaction I still think it is a great anime to watch, it does not lose its charm over the years ... enjoy it :3 the soundtrack that handles the anime is the best, there is a version in latin spanish, for some reason I always liked it better in that dub :p
The real taste of death note is own to the person, who watches it will neutral perspective from start to finish many times, cruel sides of L is discovered in the anime as well., But people just ignore it.. Deathnote is not a simple good-bad anime
