Hi Guys, at first: sorry for the "booms" in the sound, i kinda fked up in some way :D I hope it´s not too bad. In this video today i show you some pictures and talk about my expirience with the fujifilm xs20 and my overall feeling if i still like it or..not? Thank you so much for watching, it means a lot to me. I am still kinda new to youtube so i really appreciate any kind of feedback, comments, like and of course your subcription to my channel.
Thanks for this video. I just bought an S-20 as an upgrade from my X-E4 so that I have better video and IBIS, but I was hanging on to the X-E4 in case I didn't like the S-20. I think I am happy after just a few weeks to see the X-E4 now, especially as I still have my old X-M1.
I sooo love ur natural and unpretentious way of explaining these things. U really are great in explaining ur creative and thought process with ur approach to take pictures and ur work. ❤
Nice simple honest review! I'm using X-S20 paired with TTArtisan 35mm for 7 mos now, and I also dont have any complaints. I love my cam. Users should have a connection with their camera. - totally agree 😊
what you say is true, fuji is a camera with a soul, build for photographers. while Sony is a computer, build to do its job. as a owner of both camera, i enjoy shooting with fuji alot, but i got frustrated with the lowlight, dynamic range, not enough MP for editing and af when i need to do serious job. Otherwise, fuji is a good sub/b camera for you to just shoot for fun (less work) also, it is easier to edit fuji raw's color compare to sony's color. However, after using it for few years, i went back to sony when i need to do serious job.
Do you think it would be better to buy the Fujifilm X-S20 with the XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 kit lens, the 15-45mm lens (black), or just the camera body and then purchase a third-party lens? Which lens would you recommend for both video and photography that is still fairly compact?
Credible vid of your experience. Your candor is great and your connection to viewers is unusually strong. When a camera becomes part of you is when the joy of photography begins, IMO. Ergonomics is so important. BTW, you don’t look old enough to have been taking photos 40 years ago😊. Cheers!
Do you have any video foortage from your trip like at 8:35, i want to see how is the handheld stabilization for panning, walking and showing around in nature not slow motion
Hey there. Sadly i didnt film in Verona..But i think i will make a video about this topic as it seems to interest some people out there..just some real field test, right? cheers
I have the X-S20. I think it's a matter of expectations. It also depends on the lens you use. Here's a short test clip I made using footage taken with the S20 and two vintage film camera lenses, a Canon FD 24mm f2.8 and a Canon FL 58mm f1.2. Of course, the only image stabilization is from the S20 IBIS. I hope this helps. Walking is OK, but you really need a gimbal for best results. th-cam.com/video/CKg2e4hWwh4/w-d-xo.html
I can connect with this. I was a Canon guy. I needed to upgrade so got a 90D that had to go back. It was an early model and the focus was all over the place. I tried Fuji and enjoyed the experience but wanted a lot more sensor resolution. So Sony R series. Brilliant, yet lacking in soul and just too heavy for an old fart to carry all day in mountains, moors, dales etc. Back with Fuji. Sticking with them. Not going anywhere else. Making my happy face.
i am so happy for you to read your expirience. I have the same thoughts...i will wait for what fuji is bringing next as i dont want to invest in a h2(s) at the moment, although it would be interesting.
I really appreciate the “feel” element of this. I shoot on a7cii for street and use a7iv for work, and I just feel like I’m taking my work out when I should be shooting for fun. One concern I have with this is weather sealing - have you ever used in rain (uk here) and have you had any issues? Thank you so much for the content! 👏
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely grateful to be able to use those for work, but I guess it’s like a chauffeur driving a nice car for work, when you take the family out at the weekend, it’s difficult to make it not feel like more work. 😅 First world problems - I know. 🫣
Thank you, I love you video (and the way you talk about this camera!) but I wonder if it worth changing my Nikon Z50 for it. Would you havé any view on this ?
Hey i am interested in the camera for filming. I watched your videos on the overheating. I read a lot about it an i am a bit concerned that it is the wrong choice maybe. The video quality seems to be great also the sony alpha 6700 seems to have the same problem with overheating. From what i heard there might be firmware updates that helped with the problem. Also it seems like the choice of sd card might also effect the overheating. Is this still a big problem… should i still be concerned?
I was a Sony user for years A6600 and A7C. Moved to Fuji and couldn’t be happier with Xt4 and Xe3 now. Btw with Sony I used to edit every single pic, the opposite with Fuji.
@thepickyreviewer do you mind sharing why you decided to switch? I have an x-t3 now, but have lately been looking at Sony a6700 because of its autofocus.
@@DimaStrangerSometimes I think that maybe if I did upgrade from the A6600 to A6700 I wouldn’t have noticed Fuji at all. But even if you did you will keep thinking about Sony Full frame options and then you will be shocked by the size and weight of the lenses specially the zooms and the low aperture ones. I still recommend Sony for professionals who are going to take mostly videos as this where Sony autofocus shines. Other than that it’s Fuji all the way. Once you experience Fuji colors you realize how bad Sony pictures were. Fuji pros colors, film sims, Xt4 beautifully videos, size, tactile user experience overall, kinda affordable great quality lenses (now I look back at the sharp Sigma/Tamron/Samyang and they are no way near fuji lenses and good luck with the G master prices), weight of the camera and the lenses.
A while ago I saw a professional videographer taking videos for trainers at the Gym. I took a couple of photos of him in action. When I sent them to him SOOC, the first thing he said “Such a nice colors, have you edited them”. This is a typical Sony user in a nut shell. However he will beat me in the video Autofocus/Tracking. At the start he didn’t trust the size of the tiny 50mm F2 😅
Ugh my film sim dial is glitchy. Just got it this week. The dial keeps going back and forth despite me not touching it. Been super fun other than that. Will hopefully exchange it
hey there :) somehow yes. and it still is sometimes, especially when it needs to go fast. but i need to accept that i used canon for a decade and fuji not. so i take my time :)
Hey!! Can you help me here! Iv been deciding between the XS20 and the XT5 for my birthday - not sure which one should i go for... Looking for a camera to basically take everywhere!
I’d say it really depends on your use. The XT5 is more photo oriented whereas the XS20 is a hybrid between photo and video. The XT5 has the new 40MP sensor so that will be a bit sharper on the images. If you want something for traveling, I love the size of the XS models. They just fit so well in the hand and are so powerful for how compact they are. Do with this info as you will haha.
i am so torn between the AF on the XS20..sometimes is super good, some it is kinda off. All over the place. Especially when there are more than 1 or 2 people in the picture...it just jumps around sometimes like a samba dancer :D
dude, own a fuji camera whilst you still own an R5 but do not completely sell your canon gear and buy everything fuji. I have done this and had to go back to canon. Fuji is nice for video but AF is crap and photos are not sharp like they are on the R5.
My same exact experience - not as sharp and AF is trash. Only the most expensive lenses actually are sharp- 16-55, 90mm etc. Their zoom lenses are soft. I've tested the exact same lens on Sony vs the Fuji and the Sony was sharper.
