    Amazing tool, it`s basically the base for a whole pulley system on your rack and you don`t need to use your lever arms for this purpose. Great if you are short of space like me and don`t want to have a separate pulley machine and/or attachment which takes up a lot of space. It`s all within your rack`s footprint with this, pretty much!

      @fwiffo42 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@futbol1972 it’s not bad, especially for pull downs. My biggest complaints are the setup to switch from belt squat to pull downs was long enough that I didn’t want to do it. I used a hip thrust bench to lock my knees in during pull downs and that’s really what took the long setup time.
      If you have a better/faster way to get your seat set and knees locked it was great!

    I like this a lot but is there future R&D that will involve using this as a functional trainer as well? How about development of their own pulley system? What is the future of this glyder system? Would love to see how you could DIY this with the UPS by Surplus Strength. How about a quick attach system? I have questions...so many questions...

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol...so many questions!! Buffalo told me he actually had a few people order a pair of Glyders for the purpose of using them as a functional trainer! I'll be interested to see what they come up with! As far as a pulley system, he has one in the developing stages (He has plans to build upon the Glyder system for sure). Don't you worry Gary!! 😁😂

  • @Macnelius
    @Macnelius ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think a properly sized ball lock pin could replace the bolts that fit through the rollers? Perhaps this would make installing and removing the glider a bit quicker and easier?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While the idea is great, I feel like it would introduce a ton of slop into the setup as the whole unit depends on the bolts holding it together. If the side plates aren't tight, then you risk them shifting which would result in the rollers shifting....I dunno...just seems like an accident waiting to happen. Honestly, installing the bolts isn't bad at all if you follow my suggestions and once installed, there shouldn't really be a reason to move it around/uninstall it IMO. Good question!

    Hey brother I think I’ve asked you 648 questions about this by now 😅 but you mentioned adding weight with even distribution similar to tires on a car which I totally agree with and I do believe is true. However I notice you load it evenly when using it as a cable pulley but load a plate on one side of each Glyder when using it as a Smith machine. • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว

      The seat and low row section is completely removable if needed (held on to the rack by hitch pins). As far as the cable length, I don't have any issues at 5'11" (You can see that I get a full range of motion in the video). Keep in mind that you can always lower the glyder as well to take up any extra slack you might have.

    What would you think about combining this with the Surplus Strength UPS that you reviewed a while back?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว

      While it technically CAN be paired with it by purchasing additional parts/pieces, I personally wouldn't suggest doing so due to the cost alone. The Surplus Strength pulley is intended to mount perpendicular to your rack's crossmembers whereas this system is intended more for pulley systems inline with the uprights (Rogue Slinger)

  • @derrik5329
    @derrik5329 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you think this would work with the Surplus strength UPS and LPS systems? The angle of pull on the cable causing any issues?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's actually not compatible unless you're willing to spend some time/money dropping in a dedicated upright that lines up with the UPS (which I don't at all recommend doing lol)

  • @idw85
    @idw85 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love the product. I don’t love that the cable doesn’t adjust with it. It looks like you daisy chained the cables which is not seamless. What good is having a trolley if the cable does adjust with wherever you want to put it?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว

      Think of the trolley as a weight loading pin that glides up and down your upright as opposed to free hanging/swinging around. You can set the trolley at whatever height you want and go. The Slinger high/low setup utilizes two cables (which is what you see in the video). You use the cable running through the top pulley for your high work and connect the lower for your low work.

    Hey, Matt. I have been wondering since I ordered mine if I would need to consider using collars. I notice you use some axle collars, but given the enormous length of the loadable sleeves, it doesn't seem collars are needed. That said, if I wanted collars, your video seems to indicate that I need axle collars and traditional collars won't work. Thanks

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว

      lol, I actually did originally mention collars in the video, but ended up cutting it out! Dang!! lol. While you technically don’t need collars to retain the weights as the glyder is only traveling vertically, I personally use Olympic lock jaw collars on mine and they hold just fine. If you want an even tighter hold, I do recommend using axle collars (but they aren't necessary)

    Great review Matt. What height is your rack? I have a 90" rack and it seems most Slinger reviews say the cables are too long. Wondered if that played a factor for you.

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I appreciate you watching! I too have a 90-in rack and agree that the cable that ships with the Slinger seems a bit too long due to it hanging down so low. What I found to be the actual issue is the stopper that Rogue added to the cable. It basically dictates how much cable will hang down off the front and in my opinion they positioned the stopper up too high which allows too much cable to hang down. What I ended up doing is using the cable that came with my solo slinger as it does not have a stopper! Without the stopper, the cable retracts further up and gives me a fantastic range of motion! If you don't have the solo slinger, you can actually flip the cable around that comes with the slinger and use it backwards (with the stopper section on the inside connecting to the weights or trolley) Hopefully that makes sense 😂

      Thanks @@MattPendergraph. That does make sense. I am 6'2" with a longer wingspan so I'll update you on that cable length. As awesome as this looks, do you think its worth it over buying a standalone lat pulldown? While the bully glider seems well priced, by the time you get a Rogue slinger, lat seat/low row set up you're gonna be into the entire setup for a decent chunk of cash vs just buying something like a Titan selectorized lat pulldown?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  ปีที่แล้ว

      While I definitely see what you mean, I think the ability to perform belt squats seamlessly/effortlessly alone is worth the price of admission (and it's considerably cheaper than a rhino even after buying all the Slinger accessories). It really depends on the space you have and how much you're willing to give up for standalone items in my opinion. Both will work equally well but the quality difference going this route will be quite noticeable in my opinion (I mean Rogue is Rogue for a reason 😂 compared to Titan and this bully glider fits right into the mix). Hopefully this at least gives you something to think about if you're in the market. Let me know if you have any other questions and I appreciate you watching the video!

      I'm sure you could certainly rig up something with swivel pulleys, but I honestly don't know how even it would feel/effective it would be (plus I feel like it would look like a mess of cables! lol). If the Glyder was centered between the two arms I would possibly consider it, but probably not as is on a single upright off to one side. Having two Glyders would ensure that each arms is pulling evenly (which is what I would prefer). Also keep in mind that Bully is building upon this Glyder system (a functional trainer idea is in the works) therefore having two Glyders isn't the worst idea IMO. Hopefully that helps! You honestly won't go wrong either way IMO. Also...while I don't have any experience at all with the Squat Max, I can say that I specifically avoided it due to I absolutely HATE top loaded pins!!!
