      I think it's a neat piece I always like a bit of versatility. However efficiency is priority with busy lives, and this honestly looks a little too dangerous for my tastes. It's one of those things I'd probably have bought without watching an honest review and left it set up for preacher curls and cried about my wasted money.
      Thanks Gluck!!!

      It looks neat but since I’m already flustered at how long it takes me to setup and tear down for each exercise, this looks like a no-go.
      I also have a Titan Fitness rack so it may not even fit.

      I got it and it is too complicated for me, pretty pretty heavy and I am 180 lbs person. I was super excited and waited for almost 6 months and when I got it, I realized that I am not going to use it, so I will sell it soon since I got to that realization after the return period has passed.

    This is one of those pieces that I would have all kinds of great ideas and after 2 weeks probably use it for one or two things. I think I will pass with the $1000+ price tag when I could get something like a Rep Athena for around that.

      Honestly it’s intimidating just thinking about how intricate it is compared to a barbell and weights. Great creative product but I don’t think I’d be creative enough to get enough uses out of it haha

    • @peterdearborn
      @peterdearborn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thepokechoprx I feel like that flexibility is exciting, but I just struggle with the cost of that. It's not that it can't do a lot, it's that so so much of the basic basic pieces of equipment do most of those things absolutely fine. A dedicates ham curl machine can't be made from a basic barbell and rack setup, but Romanian deadlifts have been building hamstrings for let's say a minute.

    This is more or less what I've always thought about with jammer arm, landmine, and pendulum strap squat hacks. Super cool product I hope this gets the industry thinking about ways to implement similar ideas and have some competitive cost savings in there. The options for something like this are super low right now and could use some refinement too.
    Edit: @Gluck any thoughts/plans on the powertec levergym?

    Great overview of its functionality and limitations. I like the idea of having the ability to do a ton of novel movements that I could not usually be able to do in my home gym. I could see permanently mounting this to its own dedicated overhead crossmember and post in a corner so I would never have to take it down, but just set up different movements depending on my program.

    Much like a quality power rack, I think they should add numbers to every hole. I'll use Angle for the circular adjustment point and Position for the linear adjustments (rack, weight arm, pivot arm). Then they can create/sell a template book so that people can record setups for each exercise and make it quicker to get going. I don't know all the options, but something like Exercise, Rack Position, Static Attachment, Static Attachment Point, Static Attachment Angle, Pivot Arm Angle, Pivot Arm Position, Weight Arm Position. Then people could record their setups easily in their book (or spreadsheet).
    Example loosely based off the Preacher Curl Setup in the video.
    Exercise: Preacher Curl
    Rack Position: 12
    Static Attachment: Pad
    Static Attachment Position: 1 (of 2)
    Static Attachment Angle: 23
    Pivot Arm Angle: 13
    Pivot Arm Position: 9
    Weight Arm Position: 9

    • @northeastcorals
      @northeastcorals ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly what I was thinking! I already have spreadsheets that I periodically update & print out to keep in my gym, which show me how to set up exercises I do using my rack, freemotion functional & adjustable bench etc so set up is instant & it saves so much time messing about trying to get all the various things positioned correctly. My Rouge bench doesn't have numbers so I just count the holes starting with flat as number 1 but I will get a stencil & spray paint some numbers on if I ever get some spare time.
      I'd imagine trying to count all the holes etc on the Bulletproof thing would become a nightmare so it really could do with having numbers.

I am completely maxed out with space in my garage gym and this enables me to add both of these exercises to the mix within my power rack. All of the other exercises are an extra benefit. Thanks for the comprehensive review. Confirmed my suspicions. It's not for me, even if I had that much free real estate on either side of my six post - which I don't.
    In my home gym experience, time is more valuable than money, and the constant setup and teardown of any particular "work station" is more cost prohibitive than the sticker price. I prefer static setups, ie a separate dedicated squat/press/bench/deadlift area. This device would impinge on at least three of those, so it's off the table for me.
    It is an interesting attempt at building a better mousetrap though, and I can see it being useful to people who are really big into accessory "gym machine" style circuits who don't have the space for dedicated machines and don't mind the setup/teardown aspects for every exercise.

    Definitely does a lot, but... I'm thinking the set up time and storage issues might make it a hard decision. I've been contemplating the purchase since I saw it on Carter's Gym channel. The resistance curve is also a downer for me. I'd like to see this type of system with some sort of consistent curve. Maybe a cam type attachment to hook to a cable system? Maybe I'll have to purchase this and make the cam attachment so I can hook it to my Surplus Strength UPS?

    • @GlucksGym

    I have this thing and let me tell, you can deadlift 315 but you can't deadlift this thing. IT'S THE HEAVIEST LITTLE THING YOU HAVE EVER PICKED UP. Adjusting height is super difficult, also note that on rogue racks, you might not be able to get both bolts in (as the case with me) and therefore lose some stability. Overall still a great product though but I am still getting used to setting it up for different exercises.

    @glucksgym do you know if the hexport attachment made in 2x3 can be attached to the left upright? The reason I ask is I think it has to be flipped upside down to orient in the correct position for the attachment to point inward toward the right side of the rack. Also do you know if the 2x3 version inserts on the front of the rack (2") or on the side (3")of it?

    Very detailed review Adrian, I think you sold me on why not to purchase this piece of equipment. I am not the most mechanically inclined person, and I already struggle with my damn Jammer Arms (Iso Arms from Rep Fitness) figuring out the height etc. for different exercises. My main need for this piece of equipment would be for Leg Curls/Hamstrings as I do not have anything particular in my gym for those exercises. This seems somewhat similar to the GOAT attachment from Stray Dog. Too be honest I may just eventually buy the Leg/Curl Machine from Sorinex/or Prime Fitness which are really nice and not too big and awkward for taking up space. (I would have to be very creative) I do only have a one car garage Gym so space is a premium, however I do rent out my space to Personal trainers where they can train their clients for cheaper than in a commercial gym, so a decent leg equipment machine would definitely be a bonus.

    Price wasn’t too bad but over a 1000 bucks shipping to the uk was a big f-no. Am exploring jammer Arm options instead and it might be my excuse to break out my welding set…

      For the record, the rogue lite roller doesn’t quite align on a mirafit m4. I think it can be solved with a smaller bolt for the secondary anchor point and some washers or uhmw.

    Another great review Gluck. I always get a laugh out of your self-deprecating shots. You mentioned that you used this on your Ares rack and I was curious if the cables that run down the front post caused any problems with using either the Isolator or the Ares functional trainer itself?

    • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      On the 4 post you have to move the cable (depending which side you put it on) to install it but there's no rubbing. I just move it to the side to put it on and then let it go back into place. It works but It would be better on a 6 post so you'd have more room. Or maybe if I didn't connect the racks together and it wasn't so crowded 😂

  • @OptimalTraining

    I think it is a neat device if you have a six post rack with no weight storage or an eight post rack with weights. I don't like like to leaving rack attachments laying around on the floor because I need to use my rack.

    Great review, Gluck!! When I first seen this piece of equipment a few weeks ago. I was fired up about it. I couldn’t find any reviews I really trusted but in the meantime I kind of starting thinking about all there is to set up. And storing it would def be s problem. I’m going to still process it but for right now I think there are other things I’ll buy.

    This piece looks awesome. The rotary system with interchangeable attachments is huge if someone has the patience for a bit of setup. Bravo, Bulletproof. Also, Carter is an awesome, down-to-earth guy, and I love his content. Great review y’all!

    Question? Can I set this up on the middle post. I have a PR-5000 with the Ares attachment. My middle post is 16” from the back post. Can I set this up on that inside post without it hitting the Ares mechanisms? Thanks for all the help and support. Great review.

    Nice video.
    Iam debating between the titan leg curl v2 machine and the bullet proof isolator?? I have the stray dog goat with all the attachments but i think i will sell it to ether get the titan machine or isolator.
    Also will get squat max or rhino dont know which one yet🙄
    By the way since i have 2 lower back buldging disk, i think by isolator not having back support will agreviate my back more when doing leg curls??
    Been overthinking everyday forever about what to buy between the pieces above😢 money is not a problem right now, the problem is that i dont know what to buy. Lol

    Looks cool, but I can easily find work arounds on my ares that will pretty much do the same stuff and not risk killing myself in the process. Can't count the times I have injured myself with heavy ass lever arms. This would be a deathtrap

  • @Aquefaque
    @Aquefaque ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmmm...
    This is indeed interesting 🤔
    However, I've build very adjustable lever arms on my side that I really love (it's like if a Goat 🐐 had too much fun with a Griffin or Griffith 🦅) all in in 3x3 one inch.
    And this very nice monstrosity thought me that yeah, we have to keep things simple at some point... it took me a long time to "build" my setups for my exercise and my wife still sending me pictures of all in one machine because she said that my machine are like me, overly complicated. But I still really like it and it's so efficient... When you found out the few exercises that works out of the box.
    But if you don't already things to do certain exercises, that's where something like thing is interesting.
    Like, okay you already have an Ares for lat pulldown and such, the isolator will not be a good fit...
    Unless you don't like your money or you're so rich that you just don't care.
    But if you need something for leg curls, hamstring curls and such and have nothing... That's an interesting piece.
    Otherwise, it will stays in the dust bunny collection, even if it's still very nice.
    This piece also would really fits well on a rack that would be dedicated for that kind of attachments... The more it goes, the more I think we will need another small rig for these kinds of Chimeras...
    We need more racks...

  • @andrewforsmark6103

    I heard Coop! suggest that you mount this thing on a single post attached supported at the top and bottom coming off a rack or wall. You'd leave the thing permanently attached to the single post so you would have minimal "tinkering." I think something like this is going to get snapped up by either Rogue or Rep and then modified into one of their systems... I'll probably buy the evolved version down the road... Great video! Keep up the perverted one liners!

  • @chjeltness

    I think for this attachment you HAVE to have a MacGyver attitude about gym equipment. But once you know your own setups seems like the setup times will get a lot easier.
