    I love these old restoration videos. It always warms my heart to see old neglected miniatures getting some TLC and put back into action. These are some great old gw models as well. Wonderful video as always!

      Thanks! It's probably my favourite thing to do, it's getting harder to find these originals now though.

    Old Dwarfs were my first love, getting all misty-eyed here.

      I love the dwarves from this era, always hated lining up against a dwarf gunlines with my all melee Khorne lists back then though.

    It's great to see restorations of ebay salvage and dodgy paint jobs. The Dwarfs from the early GW ranges (Perry, Marauder etc) have so much about them and a decent paint job just transforms them. It's always satisfying to put the finish touches to a classic and get it on the table.

      I completely agree I'm literally right now working on a classic Daemon Prince and some of these old sculpts hold up so well!

      @@ScruffyCrow I'm working on an army of the '87 Jes Goodwin Elves at the minute, for Oathmark, and yeah they have stood the test of time really well. There's so much life in some of the sculpts.

    Awesome rescue of these figures. You have tempted me to hunt for all the models I wanted as a kid lol

      I think this has what has caused the recent price hikes on Ebay, all the people my age who couldnt afford the models they wated back in the day but have the extra speding power now and also are not interested in GW's current aesthetic.

      @@ScruffyCrow I have a 1990something (96?) Imrik on Dragon and thinking I might just try to get a hero for each army I played. Undead, Lizardmen, High Elves, Dwarfs, Brets, Skaven.

    Dettol antiseptic is my go-to for stripping minis. Does metal and plastic and is nowhere near as nasty to your skin/lungs as some other alternatives.
    It is a lot slower than this method though, I usually leave stuff to soak overnight.

      It's not a bad shout but I hate the smell and in my experience it seems to linger

    • @ScruffyCrow
      @ScruffyCrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure these won't be the last dwarves across my desk so I'll go over them again but I was worried about repeating myself as they are just done the same as the rest. Also the vid would have been half an hour long 🤣

      @@ScruffyCrow I love the longer videos tbh you've inspired me to get some Oathmark Linebreakers for my own army, the Dwarven heavy infantry oathmark offers would be a great addition to your army as mine ;)

    I cant talk for the none acetone nail pollish remover. But acetone is not toxic at all. You don't need gloves, ventilation or masks. You can even drink it, wont harm you but you will feel ill.

    • @ScruffyCrow
      @ScruffyCrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the non acetone version is Ethyl acetate which according to Wikipedia is also not particularly toxic. It will dry out your skin and trigger eczema but that can be avoided by using the right soap when you wash your hands after and/or a bit of handcream

    Quite like what you did but i think you used 25mm bases and if it's oldhammer you're playing dwarfs are on 20mm bases. It doesn't matter for artillery crew since they are skirmished but if you are building a more comprehensive army those should go on 20 mm bases. (better for fighting orcs anyway!!)

    • @ScruffyCrow
      @ScruffyCrow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are for use in Oathmark where everything is on 25mm bases. However because of the way they are based they would be pretty easy to swap if I ever wanted to.
