One game that completely DESTROYS this guy's argument is easily Elden Ring, Elden Ring is the biggest game this year with an amazing community and even better gameplay, after the games release PC and console gamers have been absolutely loving it. Sure it's not perfect but it has so much content and much love into it then most Nintendo games now. I honestly don't see any good points from him when I'd rather get Elden Ring over Nintendo Switch Sports, While sure they don't price the same anyone would rather spend more money on a game that they know they'll have more fun with and have more time out of since most switch games on the eShop have either been awful ports of mobile like games or just overpriced games from years ago that aren't worth it at all anymore, PC gamers also have a great deal since emulation has been improving in a very quick amount of speed with switch emulators. For example, Metroid Dread was able to run DAY ONE and is only going to improve from here from it's dedicated community and dedicated developers.

@@lilsoonerfaninmo To be fair, every community is pretty toxic no exceptions, hell most are actually very toxic but i can say that some of the fans for the game are actually pretty cool and nice to talk to, and Nintendo had made some really good games but now it just seems like they're trying to put there actually most important games like BOTW 2 on the side which i understand why but then they release some unfinished games like Mario Tennis Aces, which wasn't a bad game but it was pretty mediocre at launch with almost nothing during those first couple of days/weeks. I love Nintendo but honestly playing on PC or other consoles is so much better for the better variety of games (Like Halo and Ratchet and Clank). Otherwise that i still really respect all companies for what they did for gaming.

Guess its how much value you place on your time. If you dont mind setting up emulators and monkeying with it for the chance itll work 100% fine. But i prefer to get a finished product without glitches etc

I am floored with what he said about FFXIV. The game has exploded in popularity to the point they had to stop selling it, twice. Of course, it is not available on Nintendo consoles so he says stupid shit like that.
Downloading emulators is not only cheaper, but better and easier.
When he mentioned the eShop, my eyes fucking ROLLED. The eShop is one of the worst digital storefronts to exist. It's slow, imprecise, impossible to navigate, and discoverability for anyone not a AAA game is impossible. I despise the eShop.
And that's to say nothing about the Switch's NES/SNES/N64 offerings. You have to download Nintendo's emulator, play their shitty ROMs, and pray they work right.
I could rant forever about how much easier it is to emulate Nintendo games than deal with the eShop but we'd be here forever.

So I looked this up out of curiosity. The Yuzu emulator was first released January 14th, 2018. This thing has been out for 4 years and he still doesn't know that the emulator not only exists but runs pretty well now.
I will acknowledge that emulation (especially for the PS3 and Switch emulators) can be a lot, or even too much, for many systems to handle. You do have to have some decent specs. However, you certainly don't need a $2k PC. I am now using a prebuilt that was 1500 (note that prebuilts are almost always going to be more expensive than building it yourself) and it runs emulators just fine. I will maybe need more RAM and a better CPU at some point. So yeah, he's wrong about needing some amazing hardware.
And of course, there is the fact that we can play the games we want instead of just what Nintendo decides they want to offer to us for their stupidly priced online service. We also can download games from any region instead of whatever region you're in. I'd be remiss to not say modding these games is a very nice bonus too. Some Switch games can run way better on PC.
The only concession I'll make is that piracy can be slightly less convenient than just going to one store and getting things, but the "oh no it's illegal" and/or the "you can get in trouble" things don't sway me too much. I think piracy laws are stupid. Even if some of us do indeed buy the games we emulate, I'm not going to get sanctimonious with someone who doesn't.
If Nintendo doesn't want people pirating, they need to offer a better service than the pirates. That's the lesson Valve learned and it's why they're the biggest PC games storefront.
Nobody enforces those anti-emulation laws, because they ALL know that the game (and console) companies don't have, or want to have, all the classic games on their storefronts.

Same here, in the past I've owned a NES, SNES, Wii Wii u, and have a switch, but this guy? Jeez just talks total shit, and yes I emulate old NES and SNES games on my pc for the nostalgia, even have NES and SNES style usb controllers for my pc.

4:24 i am LITERALLY running mario odyssey on an emulator at a resolution that would light a switch on fire with motion controls mapped to pushing the thumb stick and it is *leagues* better in every conceivable way and i don't have to exhaust myself by violently shaking the controller(playing with a ps3 controller btw)

We're at the point (for years actually) where emulators can be ran on not only your pc but on phones. Yuzu is doing wonderful right now and its only going to get better. I personally don't use it cuz I feel like using an emulator for a system thats currently being sold is a bit of a gray area, but its performance is great. I just find it funny that the 3ds/wii u eshops are shutting down and everyone is scrambling to get those games when those systems are easily moddable and all of their games are available online
Shouldn't be an issue on current consoles, as long as you buy a copy to support the devs.
Let me see, more games, more variety of games, far superior performance, far superior graphics, you can mod games to absurd degrees, oh and lets not forget you have emulators for just about every console ever made available on PC and can run the games at far better settings and get much better performance on these emulators. I'd say with 110% certainty that PC is far and away superior to Nintendo.
plus it doesn't take that much or any great length of time for the latest Switch games to get up and running on emulators, I don't really give a f*** about motion controls so that's not a big concern to me.

Games on switch: -nintendo exclusives
-some multiplatform games
-old nintendo games (not all of them)
Games on pc: -every multiplatform game (how do you play elden ring, rdr2, cyberpunk, etc on switch? :) )
-xbox games
-some playstation games
-pc exclusives (factorio, inscryption, total war, noita, trackmania, age of empires, ultrakill, etc...)
-almost every nintendo game in existence except online ones and some switch games which don't work perfectly for the moment) even Zelda BOTW in 4k60fps while your switch barley runs the game at 720p30fps lmao
-almost every retro game through emulation
I can play all of these games at 1080p60fps+ even with a 500-700usd pc (second hand gpu), no online fee, cheaper games, upgradable in the future, and I can use it for productivity

Switch Online _is_ cheaper than legitimately emulating games, but not in the long run. And I really wouldn't blame someone for not through the effort required to emulate games properly.
I’ve been playing Nintendo emulators since 5th grade and I’m 22 now. All the pre wii stuff was already running well by then and the whole emulation world has only gotten better nowadays. Nintendo fanboys are definitely not the ones to try and fight an emulation battle

Sadly, I don't think price for GPU is going down in my country. Even official 3rd party providers are selling them at scalper price.
Been using emulators ever since I was a kid until I got my first DS in my teens and ran it with an R4 card to avoid spending money on games I didn't know I would like...
Now I have a solid gaming PC to play MMO's on and the more 'detailed' games like Assassins creed and Witcher 3, My switch is for more 'low graphic' games and the chill games that I wanna play on the couch like Hades and Animal Crossing. ...My point is they are both great, but I still think the Switch is more of a handheld console, that you can dock for co-op games or if you have a big enough screen and just wanna chill on a distant.
Also current Warcraft sucks, they destroyed it by making it a pure unfair grind with a story that gets weaker with every expansions lol xD
i hate the arguments between consoles and pc... they both have their own advantages and disadvantages. i play primarily on console, consoles and pc are both great but arguing on “which one is better” is such a lame argument. almost as bad as xbox vs PS
PC is far superior to Nintendos consoles. Amongst emulating all console games, outperforming in framerates and resolutions, massive peripheral support and many other beneftits PC gives the user.
I don't recommend you buying RTX 30 series because really soon we will get RTX 40 series. I just recommend waiting, you already waited for so long, so just wait couple more months.
Yeah I'm not rushing out to buy anything just yet, gonna wait and see what happens with pricing. I have a 2070 rn so any of the 30 cards would be a huge upgrade but I wanna see what the 40 situation is before I pull the trigger on anything

Nintendo doesn't have an excuse for low-end handhelds anymore, especially now that the valve steam deck exists, they need to step up their game or they're just going to keep getting left behind, Even if Nintendo releases another handheld I'm likely not even going to bother unless it's moddable and I can use it to dump the latest games instead of digging through sketchy sites for them
*some* emulators take years to get going on the development end. PS3 Emulation has only recently reached a decent level with RPCS3 Recently, for example... However Nintendo Consoles are so underpowered (and typically based heavily on their old hardware these days, there is a reason that moving dolphin from a pure gamecube emulator to a gamecube/Wii emulator back in the day was trivial, and I imagine that a good chunk of the work for Yuzu and Ryujinx was already thanks to Wii U emulators like Cemu) that it can be a matter of *months* before emulators get ingame on their first games, and at this point... yeah we are seeing the unheard of point where console emulation for the switch is *better* than origianal hardware while the product is still current and onshelves.
Also... and while I dont condone Piracy, Dump your own roms... with PC emulators, if you download a rom, you have that rom. unless Miyamoto himself breaks down your door and deletes super mario bros off your PC, its effectivly yours. By paying nothing and pirating a rom, you actually own it more than someone who pays monthly for nintendo switch online does. thats kind of sad.
I gotta vent about something. Something I absolutely can't stand about console gaming has been bothering me since post-GBA and GameCube. In most cases when a new console comes out, everything basically goes back to zero and resets. You're at the mercy of the console manufacturer to allow you to carry your legacy content over to the next machine. If it doesn't, you have to buy a whole new console, new games that are not compatible with the previous one and are likely put into a new ecosystem.
I just thought of this as a point to add to the fact that the Switch, for example, has a minuscule amount of legacy content available on it. I'm so thankful that I don't have to worry about that on PC. I have a couple PC games I've owned since I was 5 that still work on my current rig. That I feel is really special about the PC as a gaming platform. Emulation is only a plus on top of that.
I can play 3DS games on my phone even do local Multiplayer with the emulator and play local Multiplayer with other devices that have the same emulator. So in pokemon I can trade and battle with other trainers in local Multiplayer.

you can go buy a console for the price of just the gpu alone. add in cpu, mobo, ram, psu, hd, ssd , computer desk and peripherals and its not even close. theres good and bad to both console and pc.
My all in one doesn’t run games mostly past 64 but I still play it more than my switch membership. I only bought it for animal crossing dlc.
Between yuzu and Ryunjinx, they tend to have switch games running day 1. In fact, there was a controversy with Metroid because an early copy got leaked and PC players got to play it before switch players.
If you have a softmoded homebrew Switch, you could also play it before release date on the Switch.
The main problem was that Kotaku wrote an article that basically told people to download the rom and INCLUDED A LINK TO DOWNLOAD IT. They corrected it to make it more neutral and removed the download link after immense pushback but that was the main issue people had

A professional journalist company like Kotaku should know, that they can't pull stuff like that off (atleast without backlash). I'm honestly shocked Nintendo didn't sue them for that action, because Nintendo is well known to use legal action if anyone touches they copyright material.

I know this video is a year or more old by now, but I grew up on the NES/SNES, went to the 64, and currently own a Switch Lite. I spend more time on my Xbox One, not paying for GamePass, than I do my Switch, and my Xbox grows an inch of dust between my uses of my PC. Just saying. PC has rocked

Well I just started playing Hell Let Loose and I'm loving it, it's so damn fun. And I'm playing on a 3 or 4 year old pc and I'm able to run it on max settings without any problems at all. PC will always have more games, just because there's no Smash Bros or Pokémon exclusives doesn't mean shit but these fan boys wanna act like consoles have anything to offer.

I know about emulators but i don't know squat about getting one. However, i play 95% of my games on PC, i have a switch but i only use it for Mario party, lethal league blaze and multi player games like that when i have people over or go to friends houses. Getting into PC gaming is indeed expensive if you want similar performance to the current Xbox and PlayStation consoles. There's always a pay off. I like my switch but i like it for what it does at get togethers over a PC since i haven't set up anything on my PC. Nothing is about the money for me, i do what i like and that's that. People, just do what you want to to, it's your playground. And that dude saying that PC is going down made me laugh 😂
Wrm no, no it's not, pc gaming is not more expensive than xbox series x or ps5 ?
Upfront cost yeah, but who buys a xbox series x or ps5 and not pay for subscription? No one does because even casual gamers want the option to play online from time to time, so just to buy a xbox series x and a ps5 and subscription for the life of the console (6 to 8 years) you are paying just as much, in the UK 3060 or 6600xt card is already down to £360, ps5 and xbox series x are at best equivalent to a 5700xt graphics card in performance. So you'll end up with a pc that'll outperform current consoles for roughly the same price just for hardware and to get to play online. Not to mention pc games are cheaper, completely backwards compatible, and if you want to retro game, emulate 🤷♂️.
So the consoles are cheaper arguement falls flat. Now if there was no subscription fee to play online, then yes consoles would be cheaper, but since that's not the case, the arguement doesnt stand
My stance on emulation might not align with yours. But i think from my mindset it makes the most sense for me. Obviously emulation is legal, as it should be. I think its perfectly legitimate to emulate these older games that are not as easily accessible on newer hardware. Have the Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft made efforts to make their older games available on newer platforms? Yes. Is it perfect? Absolutely not.
Not all games are available and in some cases of games that have been rereleased on multiple consoles have required repurchasing it. Look at Nintendo with Virtual Console, Wii, Wii U, 3DS you had to buy all those games more than once even if you had them on previous consoles, not to mention of you bought them back in the day on original hardware. At least Sony and Microsoft have been somewhat better with this. I don't know exactly what you can play on each Xbox console in terms of older console, but to my understanding you can play physical media from older consoles on them (baring digital only consoles.) Correct me if I'm wrong. But on Playstation back when i was on it i could play all my physical games on every system up to the first iteration of the PS3 and then later PS3 models it was just PS1 and PS3 games (with some digital PS2 games.) And if you owned digital PS1 games on your PSN you could also play them on PSP and Vita. You didn't buy them multiple times.
Emulation is much easier than all this nonsense. Personally i only emulate older games that are out of print. If my only option to play an older game is to pay way too much on eBay or emulate I'll take emulation. Even if its being offered on newer consoles I'd rather just emulate since Sony/Nintendo already got my money back in the day. For newer consoles i do go to the trouble of buying new Nintendo games before emulating them, because i do want to support the developers and i do like having games on original hardware for my collection.
Ah yes, FFXIV totally isnt "as good as people say", thats why last year they quite literally had to halt digital codes because they ran out of them and servers were constantly full.. I repeat, they RAN OUT of digital codes, that almost never happens, and when it does it's usually cause the game is.. good?

Console market is literally the blood line of innovation in the gaming industry you think if console's didn't exist all the PC games would be trash quality DayZ and Arma quality upgraded slightly every new release. PC only game's suck 90% of the time and that's being generous. Like all of PCs greatness is just gate keeping for price inflation for not much improvement especially with the XSX and PS5. Console is one or two gens away from that difference between console and PC quality being not much at all because PCs improvement just seems to be same as what you already had just higher frame rate
