I’m so grateful I found this! Been meaning to properly clean mine forever but never figured out how. I think they make cleaning the tops into rocket science to make us give up and just buy a new one.
UPDATE: if you don't mind breaking the soft plastic tubing, the little tab at the bottom can be pulled completely out if you pry hard enough with the screwdriver, which makes the whole process a lot easier, you can just pull the entire tubing along with the plastic spout out.
It's hard but there's a crack running through, I put it on the edge of the table and then used a screwdriver inside the crack and pushed against the table to open it at 1:29
