As a mom I thank you so much!!!!! I’m always scared of mold in my water bottles and I kept thinking about my sons contigo bottle and I kept gaslighting myself into thinking I was crazy. Thanks to your video I finally took the stubborn thing apart and sure enough mold.

Contigo should come up with a better solution for this or their product, this is a health hazardous, if this happen to me I'm just going to soak it in hydro peroxide overnight best for killing mold. Not going through all that trouble.
This was oh sooooo helpful! Thank you so much. I’ve been using the pipe cleaner type brushes and bending and pulling as hard as I could trying my best to clean my son’s water bottles. I couldn’t figure out how to get them all the way apart but now I do thanks to you!!! Again, thank you so much!!! PS: I definitely will not be buying any more of these water bottles or ones like it. The amount of mold is disgusting. I was so shocked. I don’t know how we all haven’t gotten sick drinking from these bottles with the amount of mold hidden in these tops. Absolutely blows my mind.
These bottles are quite expensive and I already had to buy another sipper bottle because I couldn't figure out how to clean the first one. I had tried with pipe cleaners, baking soda, vinegar but still could see dirt/mold that was just out of reach to clean. Thank you for this video. We have a bottle from a different brand but the same build and I was able to pull the spout apart easily and clean it.
They are expensive, unfortunately the nature of these folding straw designs seem to always have spots for mold to grow. I’m really glad it helped. What other brand uses this same style?
Ashley Marshall It does take a decent amount of force to put the mouthpiece back in. Contigo Engineers were probably told to make this difficult so people would throw them away instead of cleaning them. 🤦🏼♂️
