In regards to Jon’s hair changing, I’ve always thought Jons resurrection will be a parallel to the tale of Sweeney Todd. He’s unfairly sent to a near inhospitable place (jon/the wall, Sweeney/Australia), thought to be dead only to come back, changed/meaner/merciless, practically a different person with a white streak in his hair to seek vengeance on those who wronged him with his unique trademark weapon (longclaw/chase silver razors). I also feel that Darkstar with the black streak in his hair as a peculiar attribute that seems might be a reflection of this

Great stream Joe and MJ!!! I really enjoyed it. I agree with MJ: Ghost CANNOT be killed under any circumstances!!! I think Melisandre will bring Jon back similar to how it was done in season 6; therefore making his resurrection different from Beric or Stoneheart. I don’t see Jon being dramatically different and being able to rally and lead the North. I think Jon will be more aggressive and therefore wolf like. Jon and Ghost must survive!!!
Actually if you reread Mirri Maz Duur's ritual and only look at what she's doing ,saying, and what Dany see's pertaining to the tent (block out the background noise with the chaos that's happening) she has a special knife (bronze), singing, blood and fire magic (killed Drogo's horse then burned the body...... but Drogo wasn't a Warg........) at sun set ["strength of the mount go into the rider, " Mirri sang as the horse blood swirled into the waters of Drogo's bath. "Strength of the Beast, go into the man."..."my song will wake powers old and dark. The dead will dance here this night. No LIVING man must look on them. ".... inside the tent the shapes were dancing, circling the brazier and the blood bath (fire and blood), dark against the sandsilk, and some did not look human. SHE GLIMPSED THE SHADOW OF A GREAT WOLF, AND ANOTHER LIKE A MAN WREATHED IN FLAMES.] ["When will he be as HE was (the great wolf and fire man?)?" Dany demanded. "When the SUN rises in the west and sets in the east (the Sun's son aka Quentyn Martell)," said Mirri Maz Duur. "When the Seas go dry (Dany in ADWD notes how the Dothroki sea is going dry around dragonstone) and mountains blow in the wind like leaves ( either Mereen burns, or Ser Strong is about to get blown away? TWOW). When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child (Dany's current miscarriage at the end of Dance, another future pregnancy?...) Then he will return, and not before."] Now we got the Azor Ahi reborn story, waking dragons from stone, salt and smoke (possible fire and blood reference or the wall and fire), Mel despite not being good at her visions can work some crazy magics and we don't know what she does or does not know. (Vals gonna help burn Shireen, blood sacrifice). And then you got a specific reference from Jon about a hunger inside of him sharp as a dragonglass blade (possibly small detail from show that was correct with dragonglass to the heart?) I don't think Jon/Ghost (who is really in charge?) is coming back like Stoneheart/ Beric, he's coming back differently. This has been bothering me for a while but all the connections pointed out with Ghost made me think of all this.
I wonder how Ghost would react to Dany. Would he like her like he does mellisandere and val, or would he dislike her like he does Tyrion? Can't wait for that to happen.

The direwolves are for the Stark children like the daemons in His Dark Materials, basically an external, physical manifestation of their soul. Or also like a Patronus in Harry Potter.
That's cool, I never saw it this way. - I thought it is a two-sided bond: like making a real animal one's 'horcrux' the one that dies lives on in or by the help of the other.
I do think Ghost will function similar to a Horcux for Jon Snow, until he can be resurrected, but I don't think Ghost needs to die for Jon to be brought back .

a lot of people say you can't ride direwolves because they are bittey ...BUT nobody ever mentions their spine can't hold your butts , and sabertooth even less so. Felines have dainty spines, horses and zebras are the ones with serious rigid spines.
Ghost is the R2-D2 of ASoIaF. He is there at major moments and saving the day! (but viewed by most as a "sidekick"). Ghost has a MAJOR role to play in the final resolution of the story (housing Jon until resurrection? Dying to allow Jon to defeat the White Walkers? Saving Bran? Tearing out Dany's throat? Who knows what it will be?)
I thought Ghost was the only one who had his eyes open when they found the pups... If that is so he couldn't have been driven away. The others couldn't see yet. More like he went exploring on his own and didn't know how to get back. I think that's a true thing for wolf pups, they are adventurous. ^^
Late on commenting, but I couldn't pass up when it's two of the best doing what they do best, about the best boy! Confession time. I really don't care one way or another about Jon. But those around him, most ghost, I'll take any time of day. Absolutely love the wolves. But now I'm completely stuck on this idea of the wolves being the embodiment of previous persons. I may now be caught on the thought of who in the past would most want to protect the world from Bloodraven and be sympathetic to Targaryens and Starks alike...
Something dawned on me when Gray mentioned that the north is a magical place. The impression is given early on that the dragons haveb brought magic back, but those comments are made in Essos, where the dragons are, and in reference to blood and fire magic. The north is where CotF magic is prevelant, and the Others have returned recently. So it's not just the dragons that are doing it.
Alliser Thorne overheard him. "Lord Snow wants to take my place now." He sneered. "I'd have an easier time teaching a wolf to juggle than you will training this aurochs." "I'll take that wager, Ser Alliser," Jon said. "I'd love to see Ghost juggle."
I think BR can do magic through the wall because he's hooked up into the weirwood net. Massive network of weirwood roots pass directly under the wall... Therefore one directly connected can do magic
Theory on Blood Raven warging Mormont's raven and the wights being animated in Castle Black. You need a member of the Night's Watch to let you through. Like Vampire's needing to be invited into your home. The Raven is Mormont's and he brought the warged Raven through the wall so Blood Raven can still warg it. The wights were brought across by members of the Night's Watch. This is also why I believe Jon will mistakenly bring the wall down. It has to be a member of the night's watch.
Half a day later and I eventually listened to all, thanks Joe and Gray. Mellisandre will have to do the Ghost/Jon death. Everyone knows that dogs understand human speech and can accumulate a vocabulary even without tone innotation.

So when you guys were talking about ghost and him having green see’er/green dream capabilities, what affect do you think Jon will have if he does actually watch into ghost after his death and becomes alive again, considering the hypothesis that Jon and ghosts souls may bond or become more as one during that time. Do you think that some of that power will be available to Jon after his resurrection? This is so fucking exciting

You guys ever hear the theory that Jon will come back but he will be different but at the end of Winds we will have a ghost chapter and it will be the cliffhanger that someone else is in Jons body? May not happen in that context but ghost howling could give away Jon isn’t really jon if he’s back but ghost is acting weird or something like that I know that’s a very crude idea
I think GRRM did make the direwolves bigger in the books than what they were in the past in real life. Like I seriously think they are at least POA pony size which is at least between 11.2 to 14 hands (46 to 56 inches) high. Also we do need to take into account how GRRM is so bad at sizing things. Everything always ends up bigger with him. :P
You should institute a rule where every additional one hundred likes you get post stream, you have to put the Gandalf hat on again, regardless of where you are or what you're doing.
I have extensively developed this theory: The love triangle around Arya was switched to Sansa, involving Tyrion and Jon. Sansa is put through three Beauty and the Beast storylines: with Sandor, then Tyrion, and last will be wolfman Jon. Jon is Sansa’s Ghost wolf, and her good-hearted prince.. She has already telepathically connected to Jon in her dream she wakes from in the final chapter of A Storm of Swords. Either Sansa will come to Wall and help wake Jon back to life with a kiss, or Val will do that first, and Jon will come and rescue Sansa fleeing for her life from the Vale. As a Byronic hero and a Targaryen, Jon was always destined to fall in love with one of his “sisters,” and there has been super foreshadowing of this w Jamie and Cersei and all the Targaryen marriages to sisters and cousins. Let me know if you want to see my full theory write up of this.
Prediction: Ned Dane, a boy wielding Dawn will slay The Nights King(if there is one). Not Jon. Not Danny. It's the only way to explain why they wouldnt give the killing blow of this central 'baddy' to a main protagonist that at least has something to do with the north and the others. Arya had nothing to do with these narratives-- G.M has been holding off on using the Danes for a few reasons. I think this is one of them. G.M must have told them who would deal the killing blow--- so either there is no nights king and its a plot device that is irrelivqnt or there is a nights king and the show didn't want to add more characters or preferred to do as they often did, amalgamate actions and persons into single characters

Odd, how people read books differently. O.o I just had to look it up, since it is obviously far less obvious than I thought on my first read. The way I had read Jon's assassination: "Wick, put that knife..." '...away, he meant to say' and then he tries to dodge and 'the word turned into a grunt' - at that point he does not realize how badly he is hurt, he thinks he made it away, and it's just a scratch, but his narration is unreliable, his throat was slashed. For the question 'Why' no voice is needed, you can breathe that. And when he last say's "Ghost" it's only a whisper - and as such voiceless. Then, dying, he 'grunts' again. I thought, it meant he was gurgling blood. Therefore I took it for granted he was 'stonehearted': his vocal chords were cut - and he'll be silent as Ghost at least until Melisandre gives him her ruby-necklace or can fix that by other magical means or a better needlework than Lady Stoneheart's. I somehow expected Jon's Ghost will sort out the problems in the North while Jon himself is staying buried in an icecell in the wall just like all the other Oathbreakers from the Nightswatch, and that he will be awoken by the magic of the wall to fulfill his vow the moment it breaks (a bit lord-of-the-ringy: Undead Oathbreakers that follow Aragorn into battle but in this case 'the true king' being dead, too) It would be cool, if Mel could breathe warmth back into him (but I had hoped that would be done by Lady Stoneheart, who should give him her fire-life, since she wronged him before, but GRRM does getting-even-by-proxy, so it will most likely be Mel..) and Ghost 'talked' for him in future, and women attentive as Val or Melisandre might be able to read Ghost - or perhaps his mind, but the job as the King's Voice might cause troubles if something gets lost in translation Mel for certain, she has no history of good interpretations - I can see that would be highly frustrating for Jon and translating turning into Bran's job, I could see Jon feeling too wolfish and wild and overwhelmed with ruling people that question his rule, leaving Bran behind, and to cement his authority Bran will have to warg Drogon, because for a medieval 'king' it's pretty the same as for a khal: a king that can't fight is no king. But Drogon would bestow him with a better argument. The point with Huan from Tolkien is a good one, I never thought that Ghost might actually speak. But Jon is not treacherous Celegorm to be left by his dog for the blue woman - in this case the red woman.
I think Jon will have a good ending, he will fulfill his mission which is to defeat the Others, and live free Beyond the Wall, Bran has a good ending, Arya will have a good ending, Rickon I think he dies as in the series, Sansa will also have a good ending. For something the last book was going to be called "time of wolves." .... the Starks after suffering will have their reward ... The 8th season was regular, but it has facts and endings that GRRM told, so Dany has the sour end of the saga. Season 8 did not like so much, because of the end of Dany. Ghost for me survives.
And Jon will steal Val for his wife ( or maybe Val will steal Jon for her husband! ). Jon is a wildling at heart. When it is all done, he will spend the rest of his days beyond the Wall with Ghost, his faithful friend.
Does no one else think that Jon saw Ghost before Ned agreed to let them live, then pretended to hear something and go back? I haven't read the books, is there a Jon POV to the contrary?
When the direwolf raised his head, his eyes glowed red and baleful, and water streamed down from his jaws like slaver. I wonder if this could have been a pavlovian response, and someone else have training the dire wolfs remotely ?

In his pov chapter Jon recounts it from his side as a memory. No reason to lie to himself in his head about what happened.
Okay, thought there must've been something making people go against Occum's Razor.
I actually think summer is the most important direwolf. Summer is what we’ll wake up to after a dream of spring

Thank you
Wait....I thought I cut out the opening parts. Hang on...
I did, the version in my dashboard has the opening part cut out. I don't know why the live version doesn't match. Wth
When the direwolf raised his head, his eyes glowed red and baleful, and water streamed down from his jaws like slaver.
I wonder if this could have been a pavlovian response, and someone else have training the dire wolfs remotely ?
Ghost is a ladies man
“Could you ride them?” 🙄🙄 he just said they were almost 3 ft tall. Put down the pipe and pay attention to the man
