Yes but, I have a lot of iCloud space and it says I need to buy more storage and remove some photos EVEN THO I REMOVED EVERY SINGLE ONE

Not helpful if you need to download over 1000 photos & videos. Don't know why Apple can't make the ability to download "ALL PHOTOS". This is precisely why I use Windows computers and and Android phones. My wife uses Apple and I have to find other workarounds to download all her Iphone photos.
Just gotta pay them the cost of a Netflix subscription every month to fully backup your phone
I have never backed up since I bought the phone and I have bought more space yet still when I back up the numbers keep reducing in percentage wise
I bought a new iPhone 15 Pro and have neen using it as my primary device since the beginning of November. I wanted to transfer my WhatsApp chats but I didn't initially do it. I've read that I would need to erase my iphone and set it up from scratch, but apart from ising Move to ios to restore my WhatsApp chats on my iPhone, could I also restore my icloud backup with all my photos and apps thats I've been using for the last month?
Any chance we could do it with Time Machine or the Mac in the future?
Do we need to click backup now regularly? Or is it automatically backup as long as connected to WIFI? thank you

Is it necessary to put my phone on powert source while doing icloud backup?
Yesterday i put my phone on icloud backup with chargeing on but after my phone charged 100% backup stopped automatically...and i am trying to backup my phone since last 15 days but aunable to do that

i deleted an old backup on my iphone. however i tried to do another backup it says there's not enough storage on icloud. i deleted all my photos that i didn't need tho. i even restarted my phone. any ideas?

Is my entire iPhone backup for free or I need to buy storage for device backup ?
That would depend on the size of your backup. An iCloud account comes with 5 GB of storage space. If your device backup is less than 5 GB then you’ll be able to use the included storage. If your device backup is more than 5 GB, then you’ll need to change to a larger iCloud storage plan.
You can view your backup size by going to Settings > Name at the top > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Device name, then look at the Next Backup Size field.

If you need to change your iCloud storage plan, you can do so in Settings > Name at the top > iCloud > Change Storage Plan.

Says my backup is 15GB but my phone storage is a lot more than that, about 300GB. how do i know if everything is backed up when transferring to a new phone? this is confusing

I have a 14 Pro Max and by default, it seems 'Messages' is turned Off. I've read conflicting info on whether all my SMS messages are still backed up regardless? (and that turning it ON is mainly to 'share' your messages in iCloud). Can you advise on this?
Also I do not have access to Wi-Fi but I have a strong cellular network and have "Allow More Data on 5G" enabled in settings. I have had no problem with updates since the beginning of the year. However iOS 17 is 3.3 GB. - thank you! ☺

Messages in iCloud is meant to sync your messages across all of your devices. If you enable that setting, those messages will no longer be included in your iCloud backups.

Please help! I updated to iOS 17 and now my Settings > Apple ID photo, is now sideways!! How do I fix it? (I have the AppleCare+ plan)
If the photo is one that’s in your device’s photo library, then you may try checking for the photo in question there to see if it’s also rotated. If it does show rotated in the Photos app then this page can help with rotating it as desired: s.apple.com/dE5W6C7R7b
After rotating the source again you may need to reselect it in Settings > [your name] > Tap the photo.

@@applesupport Thanks for your help. No it was a Selfie and I don't have the photo anymore. Though the great news is I fixed it (by guess work). I went into my Settings > Apple ID and tapped on my pic to edit it. It came up with the new suggestions page (and my old pic was still in there). I think I picked another pic, then re-selected my old one again and it instantly fixed it. I hope this info helps others.

iPhone se2. backup 3 gb. photo library off, firefox 60 mb, duckduck 35 mb, facebook 30 mb, tunein radio 20 mb, some apps 10 mb. why is 3 gb? after delete go again 3 gb next backup. on backup has not app 2-3 gb data. firefox is 60 mb…

I’ve deleted so many apps so I don’t have as many gigabytes so I can backup but it keeps saying “not enough iCloud storage t9 backup.” I gotta do it bc I haven’t done it since 12/31/23

Did you solve this? It’s happening to me too. I don’t know if I need to delete more pictures or what but all i know is that my iCloud storage isn’t full but it’s saying it can’t backup bc it is full.
Is it expensive to back up. ? A warning came up saying it add cost to your mobile plan.

How do you back up to a physical hard drive?
Once you’ve backed up your iPhone using a Mac or PC, you will need to then locate that backup and copy it to an external hard drive.

We want to help with your Apple Watch question. Here is how the Apple Watch backs up: Your Apple Watch data is backed up to the iPhone that it's paired with. This happens automatically as long as your iPhone and Apple Watch are near each other, so you don't need to do anything to keep your watch backed up.
When you unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, the watch is backed up completely to your iPhone to make sure that the latest data is saved. You can use the backed-up Apple Watch data on your iPhone if you ever need to restore your Apple Watch, or when you set up a new Apple Watch.

terrible part of getting a new apple device.
i take off all the pics and vids before i get rid of a phone and literally the only thing i want to copy to the new phone is contact list , passwords and notes.
despite removing all bids and pics AS WELL as all text messages including recently deleted it still does not let me backup the most basic info .

Learned this after I broke my phone
EVERYTIME I CLICK BACK UP IT COMPLETES IN 10 SECONDS BUT THE BUTTON DOES NOT DISABLE WHICH MEANS THERE'S MORE TO DOWNLOAD AND I CONTINUOUSLY PRESSED IT OVER AND OVER BUT IT JUST WONT STOP I THOUGHT IT DOWNLOADS ALL OF IT IN ONE GO HELP ITS TAKING SO LONG IM SPAMMING IT SHOULDN'T IT DO THIS AUTOMATICALLY ITSELF

Put an option to backup the phone to an external hard drive!!!
my iphone 11 is malfunctioning, only charges to 64% and is tweaking. I have a replacement on its way but I can't seem to get a current icloud backup to start. Last one shows a year ago. It is not a storage issue as I signed up for enough and I have it plugged into power. Is there anything else I can try? before new phone arrives? I need to backup my entire iPhone 15 Pro Max to the cloud to reset it so I can transfer the WhatsApp messages of my old Android phone. I already have a few chats on my iPhone though. Will those be backed up as well and will they be on my phone along with the Android phone chats? Also will I be able to download all photos and videos from the cloud once I reset my phone and have all the editing history and ProRaw data still available?
