    How did you wire the new speaker? Harness adapter, if so which one?

    The wires that feed this dash speaker; Do they run to an amplifier behind the rear seats, or do they run to an amp somewhere buried in the dash?

    I just replaced the tweeters in the dash of my 20 Silverado as well as the speakers in all four doors. What a totally crappyjob to do. All the snap apart crap is horrible to get apart and get back together. Here's a middle finger to the GM engineers that designed it. The dash speakers are in parallel with the front door speakers and follow them when you use the fader. The dash speakers have a capacitor attached to them which you can plainly see in this video when he shows it after it has been removed. The capacitor is in series with the positive wire of the dash speaker. The value of the capacitor is 6.8 uf. I would say it is being used as a tweeter.

    So I have a 2019 Trail Boss Custom. The original speakers including the tweeters where replaced with aftermarket speakers. The original wiring in the doors were also replaced. The door speakers were run directly to the amplifier. The stock wiring was tapped into and ran to the converter. With the exception of the stock tweeter wire. The aftermarket tweeters were tied into the aftermarket front speaker wire. Unfortunately now I don't have control of my windows they will not go up or down with the exception of the front passenger window. 😕 Have any idea what the installer did wrong? He couldn't figure it out.

      Damage may have been done when wires were ran through the door jam
      Are you able to pull the boot back at the door jam and see if anything looks like it has been damaged ? Are you able to roll any window down from any door or just from the master door
      I would go through every fuse in the vehicle to see if anything has blown
      That’s where I would start is with the fuses
      Also check that the drive door window module is plugged in and also make sure the window roll down kill switch is not activated like the ones they use so kids can’t accidentally open the windows

      @@connectedcaraudio OK Thanks I really appreciate it. I checked all the fuses so I'll check the harness thanks again.

    Is the truck dash speakers powered individually as a 6 channel from factory or is it tied into a crossover shared with the front door speakers?

    • @connectedcaraudio
      @connectedcaraudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I remember it was tied together but in the premium stereo it may be amplified individually

    • @TommyTrentonJr
      @TommyTrentonJr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can! Check out Audio Control they have converters. You run factory speaker wire to the new amp, out of the amp and into the new speakers. I bought an audio control d4.800 because it has dsp control!
