Been many years since I have dove into audio upgrades but I just did after watching your video for the first time. I drive a 2021 RST Z71 crew cab. Installed a 720 watt 4 channel Kicker amp, 7 channel output converter with summing and a Kicker 8” all in one sub with amp. This all made a huge difference but I really want to add the 4 Kicker speakers like you have added! Great video too!
Physically these speakers cannot hit harder. They are 6.5 and the other ones are 6x9’s the 6x9s have more surface area to move air. And the magnet may look small but it’s very efficient and that’s why it works. And also the reason the kickers sound clearer is Becuase they are a coaxial speaker. Not a component speaker. Which means that the tweeter is built into the speaker. The factory ones were component speakers. Which means that the tweeter/midrange is somewhere els... in ur case it’s in the dashboard. In my opinion I would have kept the stock speakers instead of upgrading. I made the same mistake a wile back and learned a lot since then. The sub definitely does the trick though. That really does help
Well they have passed the ear test.. or maybe its the placebo effect.. the oem speakers aren't bad but are prone to crackling at higher volumes. Customers complain about them all the time here at the dealer. But u may be very well right.. and you obviously know ur way around some speakers. Either way appreciate your input and watching the vid👍
I would of done a more extensive sound test but tried to avoid copyright and also sound difference isnt dont justice on video. Regardless thanks ks for watching
I have the kicker 200w sub and amp audio upgrade from the chevy dealership and been wanting to swap out the doors and tweeters speakers, good stuff thanks for the video
Good job!! I’ve replaced speakers in most of my cars over the years (Camaro, Mustang, Corolla) so the way I understand it with the Silverado, the front’s are 6x9’s and the rear are 6.5’s. I was going to replace the 6x9’s with a new set of 6x9’s - would I still need a speaker adapter? I plan on adding 2x1000 watt subs and an amp for the new speakers and subs. Yeah I know…I’m going to have to be creative with the two 12’s but it shall be done.
thank you for the tutorial, did you need to hook these speakers up to a separate amp? or it is just plugged in directly to the factor harness? also, can you tell me which speakers you ordered? thank you in advance!
Frankie you helped me with my folding mirrors wanted to see if you can hook me up with the light that go under my dash like you have let me know if you can so we can link up bro
great video bro. However, the first link states on the AMZ site that it's not compatible with 19-20 Silverado. Did it say that before and still worked.
The first link. Appears to be the rear brackets.. and according to my amazon account i purchased them👍 i dont know if they will fit 19-20 trucks but they will fit 14-18 and legacy(old body style) 2019. Thanks for watching bro👌
Oh decent asf I wanna do the same to my interior was trying to find actual carbon fiber replacement parts but they don’t make em :(! Def about to do the door speakers though! I’m thinking the size is the same as a double cab with speakers for the rears.
I can't imagine the kickers are gonna sound much better then the bose. Bose are ampped different then aftermarket. In order to make the kickers sound as good or better you would need to replace the factory amp With aftermarket.
They should fit 14-18 trucks.. they did for on mine... Also double checked link for front brackets and they are indeed the ones i purchased according to amazon
Awesome video bro those are actually the speakers crutchfield recommended I have the same truck, question though the outside door handles ? It came like that looks half chrome half painted ?
I dont have bose from factory they are just the nameplates on there.. i have the base speakers.you will need an amp to get the most out of ur speakers... This is a cheap upgrade, but same process for what ever speakers u get
@@GLifeUTV I'm looking for some black/red speakers to fit well with my interior before I swap em out. Got the hot red 2020 rally edition.. couple of interior aftermarket cosmetic stuff to add red to the inside... Never messed with speakers before. I just modified my front dash in my 2020 Silverado to fit a pair of skar 3.5 inch coax. They sound crazy good. Had to take the rubber boot off of the magnet and bore out the hole for them to fit. Luckily its plastic and I only needed a razor knife and patience.
That's something. I would have to look at in person. When installing bolts, make sure to not touch the bulbs with ur fingers.. skin oil can make the bulbs prematurely fail
Love the videos my man. Have you done the dash speakers yet. I’m doing your exact amp and sub kit. Can’t wait. I think I have your videos memorized lol.
I had non bose speakers.. personally i would stick with the bose in comparison to the speakers used in this video. Unless u are doing alot higher end speakers, stick with the Bose
@@GLifeUTV did you change the door panels? As the grills read "BOSE" I have the Bose premium audio in my 18 sierra with the sub in the center console and it sounds pretty good for stock.

Well this speaker upgrade is on a budget.. you can find better speakers and put 6x9 in the front.. im happy with my setup how it is . I will say that the dash speakers are next as they start to distort at higher levels with the amp.
@@GLifeUTV Awesome appreciate the response keep doing your thing shout out all the way from Baltimore City the air horn is on the bucket list gonna have so much fun waking up these zombies on the streets out here and the Jay walkers
Hey man, I just bought some aftermarket door speakers for my Silverado. You didn’t add an amp, correct? Is there still a noticeable difference is sound over stock with just the door speakers? I have watched your later video where you add the under-seat sub/amp and plan to do so later this year. Just wondering about improved sound over stock with stock head unit. Thanks!
I felt they sounded clearer .. they where no longer crackling at max volume like my stock speakers were.. the amp woke them up. But now my dash speakers are popping🙈 ill be replacing those soon
This is cheap and easy upgrade.. you can do this setup with speakers of your choosing.. even fit 6x9 in the front but none will be a drastic change in volume until u add an amp
FrankGLife - thanks for the info and videos. I’ve got kenwoods on the way, 6x9s in front and 6.5 in the rear. Will be snatching up some dash speakers too when I see some available. I’m not crazy about “bump” just like good crisp & clear sound when jamming. Cheers 🍻
@@MarcosTechHero they are better then the lt fosure, but if u want more punch then yea these speakers i installed wont be an upgrade . U would need higher end, maybe some jl audio or rockford..

I want to say those are the wrong connectors for 2016 atleast.. cuz i was looking in to getting some but when i took off the speaker they where different

Why didn't you just do 6x9 speakers?
Could of definitely. I made this video for those that aren't adding an amp. But definitely 6x9 would be a good option for front doors

Just vinyl wrap
