Why would you take the factory radio out? It takes a lot of the functionality of the truck with the radio. Like the lights control, door chimes, climate control settings, navigation, location, smart phone start, ect
Hey man, I did similar setup but didn't want to change my head unit. Did you by change put a DSP in with your installation? Or I would imagine not considering you have a new HU
I did not, but I just started competing in SQL and am about to add a DSP, another amp and an 8 inch woofer in the stock location. Where are you located?
@@728patman I'm only asking because after replacing my door speakers with kickers and adding a kicker Amp I'm getting some terrible white noise coming through them. I've exhausted all options as to finding the interference. I was told MAYBE adding a DSP between HU and AMP may help. Located in Oceanside CA
Stock doesnt have tweeters. It has those 2" drivers he is showing in this video. (If bose) If not bose, Its a crappier version of the already crummy 2". Personally I wouldnt call his upgrade high end as he is using passive xovers and inexpensive midrange components. Acuton makes some decent mids, but if you want something that fits and is a little nicer, try Morel the 728's or Scan-Speak berlillium tweeters. Accuton has some decent stuff as well.
I have a problem. I got a 2020 gmc sierra ( pre owed) had a system in it but pervious owner took out the sub and amp. All the wiring is still there. But my door speakers don’t work. There DS18. Not blown just don’t no Audio comes out only from dash board. What could it be

Sitting on a shelf in my garage and threw out the speakers
Those dynaudio speakers cost to much.....they are nice for sure but dam.
My pref is Scan-Speak with active x-over. (MiniDSP / AudioControl) I suspect that makes the dynaudio look like a bargain bin alternative.
