    SWEET BRO!! Im doing this exact same thing, on a 2016 silverado crew cab... this very weekend - I got the component kit from Kenwood, comes with the same dash speakers, I just put in the Kenwood matching 6.5" in the rear doors today - I added sound deadening, inside the door where i could reach and all around the speaker.... Im only doing that on the doors, no where else. Tomorrow I plan on the front doors and the dash speakers! I am going to install an Audio Control 5.1300 and a kicker sealed box with an L7T 12" Sub under the rear seat... thanks for the video, i learned some things.

    Smart man out off all the videos I’ve been seeing everyone is cutting their factory wires that not an option for me this right here is the way I’m going good video 👌

    Solid video. Few things to mention. White stripe is positive. Solid black is negative. Second is that the passive crossover is not a capacitor. A capacitor stores electricity until needed. Frequency doesn't have much to do with a capacitor. Likely you hooked the speaker up backwards if you left them like which will cancel the crossover frequency between that speaker and others making it lower volume. Unless you hooked all the speaker the same way.

    For that 7mm bolt by the windshield, i used a piece of cardboard and a swivel attached so it can articulate. Other than that, clutch video my guy. 🤘

    FYI please use cardboard as a shield for that screw by the windshield

      That is a solid idea I didn't even think about. I will do that in the future.

    Not sure if you need to connect the 2 crossovers as the one that came with new speakers, should do the work of suppressing bass

    Did you end up removing the factory capacitor? I couldn't tell if it was still on. Wish they made adapters for this connector. I haven't been able to find any.

      @dennysdrives1020  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cut it out of the circuit but it is still physically attached to the connector. The factory one is not being used and I used the ones that came with the speakers.

    Did you run into any problems with sound due to installing two bass blockers?

    • @dennysdrives1020
      @dennysdrives1020  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I had no trouble with them and would recommend using them.

      @dennysdrives1020 Dennys thank you very much, mine is the SLE and I don't know if the speakers are 6x 9 at the front doors.
      Once again, thank very much!!

    Are u still useing the stock bose amp or did u use a aftermarket amp?

    • @dennysdrives1020
      @dennysdrives1020  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My truck did not come with a Bose system so there is no amp powering these speakers. It is just the factory head unit running them. In the video after this I do install an amp plus a sub and power all the speakers that way. Give it a watch if you like.

    Thanks for a great video. I have a 23 Silverado with Bose. I absolutely love my truck. I was told that 3.5" speakers would work in the dash. Do you think there would be any cutting to get them to fit? I have a pair of Hertz DCX 87.3 sitting around. They are 4ohm and 92spl. I heard the Bose dash speakers are 2ohms. I am putting in a sub and thought doing the dash speakers would hold me over until a better interface comes out for a full install. Not sure.

      Thank you! Your truck is the generation after mine but i did a quick search and saw the factory speaker size is 2 3/4 like installed in the video. If you wanted to install the hertz speaker in your dash you would have to modify it to make it fit. It would not be a direct replacement. The Kenwood KFC-x2c speaker I installed is also a 4 ohm speaker. Let me know if you got any other questions.

    I’ve just purchased the same speakers for my dash, have you ran into any problems with the way you’ve set it up? Also just to clarify, you removed the factory capacitor? Or did you re solder it back with the wire from the new tweeter?

    • @dennysdrives1020
      @dennysdrives1020  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't had any problems out if it for the several month's ive had it installed. I the factory capacitor is not being used because I am using the capacitor with the speaker kit.

    Idk but every where I looked the capacitor is hooked on th positive.

      I checked my polarity with a multimeter and was getting positive values. It doesn't sound out of phase so im just going to run with it.
