Omg! I’ve never heard it explained so well! Your description of brain fog makes me feel so heard, when I’m completely unable to try to explain it. I’ve been in my worst flare ever, since a hospital stay back in October. I’ve been mostly bedridden since then, and the brain fog has been so debilitating. Thanks for making me feel not so alone in this🙏😔

Thanks for a very detailed and accurate explanation of brain fog. I think it’s the best I’ve seen on TH-cam. Usually, people mention inability to think clearly. but it’s not only that. It’s also feeling of being in “other dimension” as if there is glass or a cloud on your brain. Like literally! It is almost physical sensation.. not only mental… thanks a lot!

You can recover from cfs???? Ive had it for over 20 years. Just 2 days ago my brain fog was so severe i felt 8 needed medical intervention. Also i have dysautonomia (not pots) i have the kind where its opposite tremors and electrical surges to my brain. I have other health issues as well. Most people consider me the biggest hyperchondriac. Ive had a central nervous disorder from childhood. None of this was because i over thought. Bright light, loud noises, strong smells and too many people or activity around me sends me over the edge. Sensory overload is a real central nervous system aggitator. Sometimes i cant hardly do daily tasks they exhaust me. I cant be around stressful people or situations. The tone or pitch of someones voice can be so unpleasant

I have awful brain fog ever since I got covid in March 2020. Now I have long covid, POTS, chronic fatigue and brain fog which for me is one of the most debilitating symptoms. I feel like now I know what Alzheimers or dementia must feel like. When my brain fog is bad I can't even operate my vehicle. I cannot concentrate at work, it feels like my brain is swimming and just like so inflamed. I have found that the ONE and main thing that unfortunately usually eludes those with CFS and POTS is adequate restorative sleep. All of my symptoms have gone dormant when I can get months of consistent rest and deep sleep at night. That and anti inflammatory diet and reduced stress in my life. When 1 or all 3 of those things are lacking the brain fog and other awful long covid symptoms return.

Hey, bro! I understand how frustrating it can be when you're in a new job and struggling to retain information. Don't worry, you're not alone in experiencing brain fog, and it doesn't make you dumb at all.
Try improving your cognitive function and combat brain fog by following these simple suggestions:
      1. Allow yourself short breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge.
      2. Ensure you're getting enough quality sleep each night. Sleep plays a crucial role in cognitive function and memory consolidation.
      3. Utilize tools like to-do lists, calendars, and reminders to keep track of important information and tasks.
      4. Incorporate mindfulness exercises into your routine to improve focus and mental clarity.
      5. Seek support from close colleagues or supervisor for clarification or guidance.
Remember, you're not alone in this.

Brain fog is the worst! I think it affects the speech and memory sections of the brain the worst in me. Calling it brain fog with CFS/ME isn't descriptive enough. It is like large ceters of the brain don't even work like they are asleep or dead. It is hard to make sense of things. I am on my way out of my first full blown crash and I am still not free of brain fog. It has gotten better with some of the treatments I have done. Mental exersion fatiges me more than physical - though they both still do. Clming down so the parasypathetic nervous system to engage is absolutely neccessary. parasimpathetic

DPDR is the most debilitating symptom for me. It has made me bedridden its that bad. Moving around makes me feel even more disoriented. It just feels like I'm high or drunk all the time but without the good effects. I lie in bed and just feel like I'm floating off into la la land and can't make sense of reality anymore. Mine was triggered by weed. The dpdr community is a lot of help. Except I have other physical symptoms they don't deal with so that's where the cfs community comes in handy. I'd give one of my legs to be free of that one symptom.

Hey Kristen , one thing I do mention in the video as well is that you have to deal with the immediate problem at hand first, so you have to deal with the Lymes and mold, and once doctors don’t have any other solutions for you that’s when I can say that my approach can help you. If you’re in the same environment of mould that caused the illness in the first place then unfortunately the problem will likely not go away until you deal with that issue first. Can you call someone in to get rid of the mold?

Ofc it is good to be as stress free as possible at the beginning but have hope ppl with 0 money are healing. Check dr cat out! I think that at this point I have heard all the recovery stories and many people healed in a moldy enviroment as well as with kids, bas relationship, in a big grief… life is not perfect and you need to teach your nervous system that you can handle anything! Not that you need to live in a perfect bubble. There are rich people with lyme and they cannot heal (justin bieber for example) because the main thing is regulating your nervous system! There are people wit lyme doctors who cannot heal for decades. I do have lyme and brain retraining is the only thing that helps me slowly recover. I was not improving on any physical treatement for 3 years maybe only fort short period of times. I left my job, my flat, and tried everything under the sun. As I said brain retraining and regulation of your ANS is the main thing the root cause! Ut is the stuckness in that dysregulation that unables your body to heal from lyme. I am making great improvements from bedbound to taking over 5000 steps few days ago. Ofc you can support your body as holistic as possible but you cannot fully heal without some kind of brain retraining just check out some recovery stories and you will see that 99% will recover using mainly that. I feel like your reading my mind every video I watch. I honestly didn’t know how to put in into words. I would say it felt like walking through pudding. Like a thickness to my thinking and moving. About six months before things got really bad and I was bedridden and my body was about to completely shut down, I would have moments, like after I went grocery shopping and got in the car, that I couldn’t remember where I was going what I was doing or even who I was or what my name was, like complete amnesia. It would only last a few seconds to a minute or so but it was really terrifying. It happened to me twice. At the time I had been under extreme chronic stress with no mental support for years. I was really fearful that I had some thing neurologically going on. Also around that time I would sometimes have to rest in the car before I would drive home because I would be so exhausted just from going to the store. After watching your videos, looking back I can see all the signs and all the warnings from my body telling me to get help and slow down.
The different dimension description is so on point. It’s scary. The emotions. I’ve always been more sensitive but through this process it’s so overwhelming. In the beginning it got pretty scary for me mentally. My kids are the only reason I didn’t end my life. I just couldn’t handle what I felt like. That was the worst point in my life. I’ve have made progress in my recovery but still have a way to go. But even now my thinking is different. Not only still having more intense emotions sometimes, but because of this experience I think differently. The way I see my kids and how appreciative I am for every moment with them. I see everything in life differently. it’s just being so grateful to be here because there were so many times I didn’t know if I would get to watch them grow up.
Watching your videos have really helped me change my mindset, and release my fear of my symptoms. I’m so grateful, thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about your brain fog and headaches after having long covid. Brain fog is a common symptom, and it can make you feel like you're really hitting a mental wall. It's frustrating, but many people have experienced it.
Resting, staying active with gentle exercise, eating well, and managing stress can all help with recovery. It's important to be patient because it takes time.
Remember to take care of yourself and give your body time to heal. Many people have seen improvements over time, so stay positive. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional for advice.
Take care and be kind to yourself on your recovery journey.

    • @cfsrecovery

My suggestion is listen to your body and assess your energy levels. If you're experiencing intense brain fog, it is beneficial to take a step back and give yourself a break from mentally demanding activities. Pushing through when you're already struggling with brain fog can potentially worsen your symptoms. It's more important to prioritize self-care and allow yourself the rest and recovery you need, rather than pushing.

Yes! I smoked weed for years and then I quit because at that time in my life I needed to...I had also started having CFS symptoms. About 8 months later I tried to smoke and omg.. my heart rate shot up and I became short of breath and the room was spinning and it didn't help that I started panicking. I threw my whole bag of weed away because I thought I got bad weed. About a week later I tried it again in the same thing and then I realized something was wrong. Same thing with cigarettes. .. it took me five years to get a diagnosis.. I can no longer have my wawa coffees because of the caffeine. Not even decaf. I can no longer take over-the-counter medication for a cold like NyQuil or Benadryl. I can only take Tylenol. No stimulants at all.
