When you come from a childhood lacking security and emotional support you often end up looking for it in a partner as an adult, hence the attachment, looking for a partner to fill the role a parent should have filled. Wish I could have learned this lesson you teach today back when I was 20 years old. I do now know how to love without attachment. It frees both yourself and the other person.🙏

We learn through realisation and correcting our ways slowly by slowly. That's what my experience taught me. Not all of us were lucky to be born in a healthy family. But I think it's the way it is. For some of us it might occur that had this video been released much before we would have the love of our life still with us. But I quote again it is what it is. Learn from your mistakes and move forward. One cannot go back and change their childhood experience. Let's be sorry for that child ,let's pardon ourselves to carry forward those unmet needs to our partners and most importantly realise it embrace it and let's move on. This is how I healed and healing myself.

    - love is wishing other's happiness
    - attachment is wishing your own happiness from others; wanting to be with someone forever and not let go; over-protecting, holding on, and controlling someone; being afraid of losing someone
    - everyone lives in their own private world, everyone needs freedom
    - you can control how you live in your life
    - 3 truths in life on how to love and be compassionate: (1) no one is permanent (everything is subjective to change), (2) everyone is suffering in their own world, and (3) not everyone is under your control

Right now we are in separation and because of my attachment I was trying to take control and not able to let go of the things I can’t control. This video opened my eyes. I am trying to change and be a better person. Specially when it comes to love. I want to love unconditionally and selflessly. Affirm.

i recently broke up with someone i loved with all my heart. when we were dating, i had the mentality of love without attachment. however, the more and more i realized we wouldnt work, i started getting attached. consciously, i didnt know it wouldnt work, but my subconscious knew. it knew as soon as the first hint came to my attention, no matter how much i tried to deny it, i knew it wouldnt work. i have known them all of my life, so its hard to let them go, but i hope that soon i can set aside my anger and wish them happiness again like i used to. they truly deserve to be happy.

Perhaps the hardest of all is letting go of deceased loved ones (relatives, pets, friends). In order to free their Souls (and ours), we have to sever our attachments to them to break the karmic bonds that cause both you and them to continue to suffer on the Wheel, lifetime after lifetime in the earth plane. This is very hard, so repeating mantras like "I want your Soul to be free and independent" can help to let go. That is true love.

One of the most compassionate things we can do is love freely, without conditions or attachments.
It is painful to think that me or my own child will have to part one day but it is so liberating to understand that this one fact makes every day spent in love and appreciation of my child, a great gift!!!
When the time comes for either of us to journey on, it would be kind to say thank you to the soul that befriended mine while we lived together!

If someday that person is gone because of breaking up or death then we have to learn to let it go. It is ok to attach to someone but at the same time we have to learn how to let thinngs go. Navigating on the spiritual path I have come to conclusion that when it comes to pure love you wish the other person to be happy even if you are not included in their life that is the definition of unconditional love but the more awaken and spiritual you become love without attachments is the way you begin to love the others.. Thank you again for answering my sign and thoughts yet again .. peace and light x

Thank you . This was very enlightening. I will keep these lessons with me :
    - Love is thinking about the other person's happiness, even if it does not include you. Attachment is thinking about your own happiness.
    - Other people have their own suffering to deal with just like you. As such, they can never fulfill your needs completely.

The question 1:20 "Why aren't you making me happy?" reminds me of anger and frustration. I notice thatl "Why," similar to Yoko Ono's song if the same name, is secretly an angry word. I can see how attachment leads to emotional abuse. I have felt both these in my life and I am ready to stop abusing others emotionally. Thank you so much
