@@AirGunScientistHello, good day, your videos are super enjoyable, thank you, my friends are betting with me, I showed them this video and they remained silent :). No slug in the world can have better accuracy than pellet. I am telling the truth you think?

Thanks for that Joe! I've always thought of the Impact MK1 as a pellet gun; the MK2 as a pellet gun that could shoot slugs and the MK3 as a slug gun that could shoot pellets. People complain about all the marks being released but I see it as FX listening to what their customers want. The accessories can be a real rabbit hole but they are optional - unless you are into serious competition where you have to buy every advantage you can you don't need to spend the money unless you want 😉 My stock .22/700 MK2 shoots JSB pellets very well with the factory tune straight out of the box with reasonably priced Element Helix scope. I'm waiting to see a Panthera video (hopefully a .22/700) video from you! Cheers!
Two things......If you twist the cable reel, and I know it is heavy, you can make the target more perpendicular to the camera, which could make it easier to see. Second, is the Mk3 usable by a left handed person? This is the first time I have seen one and it is hard to tell. There are no airgun shops in this state and I am looking into buying an air rifle.
Steve, Thanks for your reply 1) The MK3 can be changed to LH cocking. 2) As for the cable reel (target backstop) not being perpendicular to the camera. A) The shooter is perpendicular to the target (most important) B) The camera is expensive, and can not be in the line of sight, so it is moved off the the left or right for such shots. I hope that answers your concerns.
@@AirGunScientist Thanks for the reply. As a retired photographer, (30+ years) I understand what you are saying, but with your experience I'm sure you could back up the camera and zoom in a bit and not risk the camera. As for the option to use it left handed I was wondering if the magazine would get in the way of my left cheek? Thanks again.
I am considering the FX Impact M3 in .30. I want to set it up as a slug gun. I like the rear monopod you have. Glass is always a challenge and I also like the higher power scopes.
Agree on both points!!! I love the monopod in the rear (I set up my personal Impacts with them, which eventually customer pry out of my hands :-) ) Good glass is a MUST! I put a Titan on my rifles!!!
The consensus now is that slugs are more accurate past 75 yards especially if there’s a breeze and the slugs, hold more energy when hitting a target. Many of the FX gun pros are exclusively, shooting slugs now. I can’t seem to find any kind of test showing exactly how much energy a slug will produce compared to a pellet at 50 yards or 75 yards. Is it 25% more energy is it 50% more energy?
Thanks for a very informative video. I just got a Maverick in 22 cal and was thinking of setting it up for slugs but don't think I'll have to for the distance I'll be shooting. Will try different hollow points to see which one will work best. 👍

Nice video Joe. You know the Hybrids need to be shot at 960 FPS. I was shooting my Impact M3 .35 caliber yesterday at 50 yards and it was shooting the 68 Grain Hybrids at 960 FPS, and I put the 18-count magazine in one ragged hole that was about 1/2" CTC. I am wanting to shoot my .35 caliber in the Magnum Power Challenge at RMAC this year. If is shoots better than my Texan LSS .457 out to 300 yards, then I will use it. My Impact MK II 700mm barrel .30 caliber in the 100 yard benchrest, & speed challenge. My Impact M3 .22 caliber 700mm barrel is for the Precision Marksman Challenge. The slug that performed the bast out of the Superior Heavy Liner was the NSA 31.2 grain. I am fine tuning it at 50 yard zero to shoot no more than a 1/4" CTC. I am almost there with it. Aim Small, Miss small. The Hybrids shoot out of the standard superior liner and shoot amazing. My Impact MKII .30 Caliber is my most accurate, and consistent FX Impact. My .35 caliber with 47 shots yesterday in a shot string I did has these results. High: 970, Low: 953, AVG: 962, Spread: 17 FPS, STD Dev: 3.4, All my Impacts have as average STD Deviation of 3.0 or so FPS.
