    If you took the 4 screws holding the main board down out first, you can move the board out to the way, and then install the new board, and then move the wires one at a time

    So I followed the tutorial and got the board installed, and it is a night and day difference.. so far I have the all metal extruder, the Capricorn tube, pom anti backlash and now the silent board. Next is noctua fans and make it truly silent.

    Thanks once again Frank. Still relatively new with my 5+ but you have made the experience so much better. I'm just waiting for that Amazon guy to knock on my door with my silent board. Followed all of your upgrades so far and I couldn't be happier with them. This is my fourth printer and it is becoming my fav thanks to your help! Keep up the great work /vids, and I'll see ya on the next one.

Love your content, but definitely recommend a grounding strap or at least an anti-static mat to work on. Would hate to see one of your most excellent printers end up with a fried mainboard or something.

    It seems the link to the silent board from Creality is broken. All I get is an error message. How about addressing the Chinglish problem where all display screens are in Chinese and won't switch over to English after using the language selection screen. I've been looking for over a week and no one seems to want to address the problem. Dozens of comments on E5+ silent board upgrade videos mention the screen language locked into Chinese but nobody offers a solution. Want to be first? Thanks.

      Set of 4 pins towards top right if the drivers are facing you. To orient the board to how I'm talking about it, the usb should be to the left looking down at the board. The pins are left to right, 4 pins per row. 3rd horizontal row from driver side or 2nd row down from power connector side is where mine worked

  • @PWNHUB
    @PWNHUB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    3:24 no you need a new touchscreen if you're using a 3rd party board. I have modded firmware on all my printers, the configuration you setup is what matters. Similar to how you CAN swap an ender 3 v2 to a 3rd party board and use the v2 LCD but requires pin swapping in firmware and on ribbon cable. That being said creality boards use creality LCD's and have the pinout already.

    If anyone has the issue of bl touch not deploying after upgrade (lit but not actually deploying probe, bed crashing into hot end with Z axis raise) the stock 2.2 silent board I got required me to move from the 4th set of pins to the third set (counting away from the driver side). This solved the issue.

    • @ategevuma656
      @ategevuma656 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just want to say, AVENGERJCC YOU ARE MY HERO! I was having the exact same issue with my new Ender-5 Plus after installing the silent board (my printer had to move to my work office, so it needs to be as quiet as possible). With my heart simultaneously in my throat and in the pit of my stomach, I watched in silent horror as my printer bed crashed violently into the hot end. None of the silent board installation video guides or instructions I've watched/read have mentioned this issue or how to fix it. Based on the troubleshooting videos/guides, I thought I would have to update the firmware, which I'm hesitant to do right now since there doesn't seem to be a clear consensus on what version/software/guide to use and I'm a newbie to 3D printing. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • @raspberrypiploy771

    Its easier to swap the board then swap wire by wire. Your method is risky to say the least. Also removing the power supply is the better option because tilting the framework as you do can affect tolerances, not visible but enough to ultimately cause issues. Undoing the four bolts allows the power supply to be raised and moved next to the printer... easy

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why my method would be risky. Take a picture. Done: this way you don’t risk scratching or damaging something.
      Also if the printer can’t be turned or flipped over; you built it wrong lol

  • @davebooth9871
    @davebooth9871 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    FYI, I've found that a very small amount of isopropyl alcohol dripped onto hot glue will make it non sticky and will just peel off easily. Obviously maintain safe handling of IPA and anything hot/electrical...but its useful when removing hot glue on connectors and soldered joints.

    IMPORTANT!!! The ender 5 plus with PID on the heated bed gets rid of most Z-banding some users have problems with.

      Sounds like you got a defective, or possibly damaged in shipping board. Return it for an exchange, and you should have no issues. If you had no issues with your stock board, other than obscene amounts of noise, put it back in. If the original boaard still controls everything, you know your replacement needs to be replaced.
