  • New JL Wrangler Spidertrax Wheel Spacer Install on the Jeep. Hey guys, this is the install video of my new Spidertrax wheel spacers! These wheel spacers are USA built and very high quality. I went with the JL Jeep Wrangler specific 1.75" spacers. I added these to help widen my rear axle to more closely match my wider front Dana m210 (Dana 44)out of a Rubicon. I think they make the Jeep look more aggressive and give it a nice stance. This was a vary easy install and anyone could install it in their garage or driveway. I am installing a new bumper soon, so don't forget to subscribe!!!

    Ok, Thanks for sharing your experience. I get it that you upgraded your front Dana 30 to Dana 44 Rubicon. So what axle do you have in the back?

      I had the Danna 44 in the rear as well, it was a max tow with limited slip and narrow width. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

    Nice video...now the rear tires stick out an inch further than the front...which is bigger than the 3/4" difference before the spacers. Wish there was a way to get the wheels at the same width.

      Matt Strunk yeah now it’s a bit wider, but honestly I like it better than the sunken in look.

    Great video, can you let me know if I will or should notice any difference in the way the Jeep drives once I've added the spacers. Thanks!

      Thanks Brian, the only difference I notice was it handled a little better in the corners at speed. I didn't get any weird pulling or anything. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

    Hi great video! My new JL came from the dealer with 35 inch tires and a 2.5 in lift. The tires already stick out about 2 inches from the stock fenders. I’ve seen some marks where the tires rub when turned completely left or right. I’d like to run wheel spacers on this mega babied mall crawler but the “truck guy” at the dealership said it would ruin my warranty. He criticized me for wanting a wider look yet. I’d love an even more untucked look and would like to run wheel spacers. What to do? And if I do what size 1.75 or 2 inches? Seriously the little old lady on her way to church only on Sundays passes me and gives me a dirty look for holding her up! 🏎 thx

      Thanks man, I’d get the 1.75” Spidertrax’s. It’s the minimum needed to clear the lugs, plus it should be plenty of poke. The dealer is lying to you, wheel spacers will not void your warranty. They say stuff like that all the time to get you to buy their stuff. With spacers it does require a little more maintenance from time to time but worth it if you’re trying to avoid rubbing and a certain look. One thing to note is they do put a little more stress on ball joints and what not, but if it’s on the road most of its life it’ll be fine. Let me know if you have any more questions!

    Thanks, good video. Did you check the torque setting after 100 miles on the spacer lugs? I worried I will break the red locktite!

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did and a recheck at every tire rotation, I torqued to 128 ft lbs to not break the Loctite. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

    Why would anyone put spacers on just the rear? Measure from outside tire to tire front and rear and you’ll find they are the same width.

      I had a Rubicon front axle at the time, it’s about 1.5” wider than my stock rear. Thanks for watching the video!

      That brand only comes in that blue color so I didn’t pick the color. It doesn’t bother me, they are hard to see with the wheel mounted.

    People spend so much money changing suspension I don’t understand why they can’t just purchase a Rubicon to begin with

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a great option for some people, others like to build their Jeep up for their specific use case. A stock Rubicon is quite capable but does have limitations on harder trails. For me this is my 4th Wrangler and I go into the build knowing I’m going to swap axles and change suspension to fit my needs. If your planning on leaving it stock then the Rubicon is the way to go, hope this answers your question, thanks for watching!

    • @Ben-sv9op
      @Ben-sv9op 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree if someone has a very specific or aggressive build 100%. But it seems like most people over time just try to turn there wranglers into basically what a Rubicon is initially .

    • @FROSTBITEOFFROAD
      @FROSTBITEOFFROAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ben-sv9op more or less but being able to hand pick your mods over just factory offers a lot of performance and customization that really makes the Jeep your own. Everyone has a different idea of what they want to drive and there are many roads to the same outcome. Knowing what I know now I’d still buy a Sport S or Willy’s and build it up from there. Check out Elevens Dirt Life’s channel that is an awesome build on a non-rubicon JL.
