- Cub Cadet 1250 hydrostatic setting for 20 years setting under a barn shelter had to pull it out with another tractor. Now we will see if it will run and even drive. We wasn’t expecting the result we got.

Very nice! I have a 1450 that still mows like new after 48 years. Check the rubber engine mounts. You can use stud type shock bushings to replace them. That was a wear item that usually is never replaced.

I picked up A 1971 international cub cadet 129 2 weekend's ago and it sat for over A year untouched and I put A new battery in it and some fresh non ethanol gasoline it started immediately and drives beautiful it's also A hydrostatic let's just say it's one of the very first hydrostatic cub cadet's that were available.

Just picked the exact same model 1250 for $75.00 with a great deck but not running and had been stuffed into an old chicken house where the owner thinks it's been sitting for 18 years or more. Cleaned it all up replaced fuel line, spark plug etc and I got it to fire up but as soon as you release the key from the start position it loses fire and shuts off. I suspect I have some sort of wiring issue.
Long term plans for it is to do a complete disassemble, sandblast everything, paint it and make it look new again. I had one about 25 years ago and have regretted selling it since. Just a great garden tractor.
Congratulations! So glad you was able to pick one up! Check the solenoid it has a run side and a start side if it runs as long as it’s in crank position the starter solenoid run side could be bad I would definitely check it out! Thanks for watching
@@AllPistonsGarage Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to check that out. I also ordered a new ignition switch, it had no key so even if that's not the problem at least it'll have a key lol.

I believe the 1250 1975 most of the people I know hoard their spare parts I’m not sure where to pick up a pump but have you considered having your pump rebuilt at a repair shop assuming you have a old pump?
I could not see in the vid but how do I take the fuel hose off

There are part websites if you can find one that has parts in stock, I recommend parts tree but they don’t have much

@@GeorgeMcintyre-q7d nvm I managed to figure it out, I got this tractor from my grandpaw and it had not ran in about three or more years so I’m doing a restoration project on it, so far I’ve figured out that it will crank and the starter works so I cleaned out the gas tank and then I’ll see if she will start
