Everything was perfect for the clothes, the wings, the details, the actors. Nothing was left of details, to the point you the viewers are thinking was you witness was from the Royal family or the Firm.
The last few seasons of The Crown have been a perfect example of an end result that is less than the sum of its parts. The amount of work, skill and talent that clearly goes into it is astounding and yet, outside of the odd moment where everything manages to come together just right, on the whole it still somehow ends up falling flat.
It was great because some was based on what happened. As we seen n the news or clippings whether where the fabrication lays, we know some bared the truth like names or places. Maybe some wording but in general we can see how hard it is to be a royal, how they do have their own issues and like any family someone bares the crown of whatever. I hope people cannot leave them alone. I think there is enough insights to learn it is never easy to be in any type families whether with importance or non importance. It is always issues some where.
All very well done. However, so much of the season dealing with the tragic Diana and Charles story, has been done again, and again, and again. Yes, it was a very significant event; yes, Diana was remarkable, yes, poor Diana et al. However, with dozens of books, dozens of documentaries, dozens of tv movies all on the exact same story - it just feels so redundant. What are the story writers saying that hasn't already been presented literally thousands of times?
They should continue with season 7 and 8. Up to the death of the Queen. But focus more on her, Prince Philip, her sons, daughters and mainly Prince Charles and his remarriage and how that went down. Then concentrate more on Kate and William. Their courtship and wedding. Then their married life and tours, and kids. Her getting used to Royal life as the first member of the Royal family that is a senior working Royal and how she managed that. Learn more of the Middleton’s who have been wonderful. And then obviously add a snippet or two of Harry and Meghan since they don’t want to be part of the RF. Include them but in a very fast way just to make sure they are there, but their story not really told since they might sue for anything. Also maybe tell us more about the new senior royals. The Princess Royal and her new husband and her kids and her work. Since she’s so amazing!!! And also more on the past Earl of Wessex and Sophie Countess of Wessex and kids. See her close relationship with the Queen. See how Fergie got back in good graces. See the wedding of Eugenie and also see a lot of the wedding of Beatrice since we got stripped of that from Covid. See how and who came up with the ideas of the dress, tiara and etc. See more of the York sisters in action without Andrew. And see more of Zara Phillips and her brother as well. See more of the grandkids and great grandkids stories, the new generation. See how they dealt with Covid and obviously the death of Prince Philip and how the Queen dealt with that. And then how the Queen found out about her terminal illness but gracefully carried on with her duties and how she passed away. But make it beautiful and memorable for all those who love and admire her. And I think it would be great to end it with her funeral etc. I wouldn’t add the new Kings coronation. That’s a whole new story and not something that should be with the crown. If anything about Harry needs to be added, make it short and unimportant. Hit them where it hurts. Make it the known and annoying issue, but the not talked about issue in the series, because you know that would annoy the crap out of them. Lol Please don’t end the crown with the Golden Jubilee. She’s the longest reigning monarch in England and you want to cut the series short? Not fair for Crown enthusiasts. And then start a new series with a new name and with the story of Charles being coronated King on his coronation day. Make that the first episode and first scene of the new series. Start it off with him waking up and getting ready for his big day with Camilla. And them being so excited and anxious to be there that they even got there a few minutes earlier than they should have. Because William and family got there on time but later than the King. So make that even a funny little thing to add to the scene. He waited so many years for this day that it couldn’t come soon or fast enough. Lol Please listen to the viewers. We want more of the crown and a whole new series starting with the coronation of King Charles III.
+ what is with this view of being able to direct the entire series & just coming up with the rest of the series on your own & thinking they'd just run with it. This is so so weird
I sometimes wonder if Charles wanted Camilla so bad because everyone was against her with good reason because she was already married. Lord Mountbatten was against her.
while casting was actually not perfect -- Imelda Staunton would've been better as old Queen Mother etc -- the actors did their best and... well, it is enough. and truer words have never been spoken than ' when you create well known person, you have to create silhuette'. i've always felt that way when watching shows where an actor plays well known public figure, like, an actor or politician or whatev. and best result is always when they do not overplay. just silhouette, and viewer fills in details they know. but when actor loses it and imagines themselves to be that person they play, it can be painful and embarrassing to watch.
@@paulinegauthier1867 well not to me!! Her acting don't achieve any shadow of the Queen. ! I see and I don't believe at all. Sh can not show Her personality.
Imelda is good for playing mean people because her face says she is mean and she indeed is mean...No, I didn't watch Harry Potter and I don't see her as Umbridge. She has zero warmth in herself, which the late queen had. So she is the worst possible choice for playing the queen.@@paulinegauthier1867
She is an Excellent Veteran Actress from my Own Point of View. During your Own Free ⏰, You Should Watch "Nanny McPhee", Both "Maleficent" Movies and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (in Which She Gained International Fame for Playing a Supporting Villianess).
why did they choose a woman that has nothing in common with the late queen? no resemblance, completely different vibe. The production was so very expensive, to recraete the clothes, the style, the settings and the situations, yet the actors had nothing in common with the real royal family- the vibe was not there at all. Just empty manequines, on purpose made to look mean and heartless.
Oh, yes. I agree. Her looks were a little, sallow, compared to Princess Diana. Princess Diana was another Princess Grace of Monaco, a beauty unmatched. Dianas looks were radiant.
Charles also has his qualities. He really cares about the environment, many years before it became fashionable. The English parliament even drew his attention because he is meddling too much in environmental policies in the United Kingdom. And he seems to enjoy helping young students. But people like to just focus on their personal relationships.
She’s a wonderful actress and did an extraordinary job with lots of emotional subtlety -- but QE2 had the most distinct beautiful smile that is not possible to replicate via acting or make up.
The costuming department deserves huge pay raises, they got the outfits spot on.
Stop it, it will come at a expense to our wallets lol
The crown, has always been a show i've looked forward to for new episodes. The level of detail and cinematoraphy is unmatched.
Everything was perfect for the clothes, the wings, the details, the actors. Nothing was left of details, to the point you the viewers are thinking was you witness was from the Royal family or the Firm.
Elizabeth debicki played Princess Diana spot on and nailed her mannerisms
yes, agree, but for me she distracted me with her thinness. PD was thin, too, but not bony
Professor Umbridge did an amazing job portraying the Queen.
No, Imelda Staunton did an amazing job of portraying both.
this makes me want to watch the whole series again from beginning to end ☺
Same
Same here... I want to watch all over again😃 Cant get enough of it!!! What an incredible journey it was.

The casting nailed Diana spot on… hands down the best character cast for the last 2 seasons
I love how these people are narrating it.....
Edit:... So beautifully, thoughtfully
I love all three actrice of the queen they did all a great job❤❤❤❤
Thoroughly enjoyed every series. Great production
I love The Crown!!! ❤❤❤
Is 2:25 from a deleted scene or will it be seen in season 6? I saw a picture with her striped trousers, but didn't recognized it in season 5.
It’ll most likely be in S6! I’ve seen photos from set
Her majesty 😭😭😭
Is so Good How They Changed Them To look Like The Royals
Extraordinary series and achievement
Compliments from the Kingdom of the Netherlands! 🇳🇱
Admiracion total a toda la producción.

Yes. I come from a family of six. Always issues.
Thank you for sharing
They really have done a phenomenal job❤💯👌🏽 Extremely interesting
Wonderful!
valio la pena? valio cada bendito segundo
Eliz.Denicki did a great job, but she was way too thin--for me , it was so distracting. PD was thin, but not the same .
and i am watching season 1 again.....
🤗těším sa
Is that…. Professor Umbridge?😮
No, it is Imelda Staunton. She also played Umbridge. She is an incredibly amazing actor and singer.

S5 and S6 seem so unnecessarily rushed.
But why didn´t Dominic West wear blue contacts ???
Interesting for sure

Somehow this impassioned fascination with a monarchy that brought nothing but suffering to the world is quite embarrassing....

This last queen is not good !!!! All of the other actress are so amazing and I could belive itm, with this actress no!!!!!
I agree. She really didn't do a good job.
I think her acting is excellent; it's the writing that, at times, made her look mean, clueless and even silly, all things the Queen was not.

Princess Diana was much more beautiful than this actress. Shame they didn't get an actress who would do her justice.
she was way too thin--it distracted me

O'Please! Not More of This Deluded Tosh.
A horribly inaccurate show.
I wish they'd stop trying to make Charles sympathetic, it doesn't work and makes one hate the show lmao (costumes are great tho)
He clearly is a man who cares for people. You just don’t like him for whatever reason.
Charles also has his qualities. He really cares about the environment, many years before it became fashionable. The English parliament even drew his attention because he is meddling too much in environmental policies in the United Kingdom. And he seems to enjoy helping young students. Dominic West was more handsome and has more charisma so Charles is even upstaged by the actor who plays him.
Imelda is awful. Nothing real behind the words. She had zero award noms for s5 and that says everyone agrees
She’s a wonderful actress and did an extraordinary job with lots of emotional subtlety -- but QE2 had the most distinct beautiful smile that is not possible to replicate via acting or make up.
