The first season will forever be one of the greatest seasons of any television show I've ever watched. Truly riveting. A perfect period piece. Essential viewing!
This show is probably the best show ever made. So good, mesmerizing, so beautiful, touching, and interesting! I can't remember how many times I've watched scenes from The Crown as it is always a pleasure to watch it again. Thank you for bringing one of the most interesting CV of a monarch to millions of watchers worldwide!
There are shows you feel like one or two characters 'carry' the show; This isn't one of them. Everyone was brilliant, from the younger ones to the epic Helena Benham Carter, the character I loved the most. It showed the good, the bad, the difficult, and the beautiful in a perfect way!
Not that far back, but there is a miniseries of their meeting and then marriage called Bertie and Elizabeth. The movie, the King's Speech, is very good too
The casting was so amazing. You have veterans and newbies in a single show. They could've chosen to get veteran actors only but they took a risk and the whole cast was just perfect👏👏
as someone who is not British, I think it's one of the greatest tv shows of all time. every aspect of it is flawless. the performances are compelling and the soundtracks are brilliant. thank you for producing such a detailed series .
A quality production that brings together a stellar cast and so much talent behind the scenes. I too miss The Crown. More historical stories are yet to be told, Netflix …. Please bring us more like this.
Words can't express my deep appreciation and love for this show. It was so familiar right away with the large number of actors who had been on "Midsomer Murders" over the years, some of whom were just starting in their careers. Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Imelda Staunton, Marion Bailey, and Veronica Hamilton are just a few who were on it.
The sets, the costumes, the music, the sounds, the props, the makeup, the camera work and along with the other various backstage works, all perfectly complimented the beautiful characters to create this extraordinary series ❤ kudos to everyone involved in making this possible for all of us to enjoy 🎉
*The story of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor would make a nice follow up, from his Younger days to his sad death* a rather interesting life. Especially with the Sussexes in Vogue
Remember when they announced the first season? I remember watching it for the first time - I was amazed by the acting, the costumes, the music, the history...all about real people. Definitely a special production.
Great series! Seems the popularity did dwindle in later seasons but I thought the quality never declined all the way to the end. I personally don't believe in monarchies but the show was a beautiful & compassionate (and fictional) portrayal of the royals.
Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Olivia Colman... absolute 💯 quality acting. .... also the actors who played Winston Churchill, Tommy Lascelles, all round addictive watch, sorry, i could go on & on! Just top 👌🏽 draw.
i love this show so much and the end of episode one is like cinema. hooks you in immediately. its all cinema but that moment really is everything really sets it all up.
THE CROWN CREATOR PETER MORGAN DEVERS TO BE NOMANTIED AT THE GLODEN GLOBES AWARDS IN 2025 FOR HIS EXTORENDERY WORK ON THE CROWN PAST SEASONS AFTER SEASON 6. ENDED NEXTFILX HAS ANNOUCED A NEW SEASON OF THE CROWN ON 2025. SO EXCITED ABOUT WATCHING IT WHEN COMES TO NEXTFLIX IN 2025
I am drawn to great writing, if by chance the script were ever published and I could watch along side it would be in heaven. The way the actors interpret that script would be a master class in acting. I am on the third time watching the six seasons.
500 years from now we will know this era from "The Crown." This is just as most people know Richard II, Richard III, Henry IV Henry V etc., from Shakespeare.
Do please leave your feelings aside and give it a try.... I resisted for a long time, (I am not a monarchist) but found it to be well considered and respectful. I haven't fallen into the trap of thinking it is all gospel truth, but bear that in mind and have a look at season one. Good Luck!
And i think they did a great job by adding only" here and there " drama bits and held it mostly accurate. PS: mostly example= william gives autographs in school, in real they are not allowed
Didn’t like how they skip the death / funeral of Phillip, the pandemic, they go from talking about her & phillips funeral arrangements & u don’t even reliaze it thenBAM ur at her funeral not a good way to end the series, it was like they was hurrying up to finish it !!
Hate to say this because I love the show and the talent...but the one scene that stood out was Emma Corrin as Diana. Her facial contortions were creepy in the engagement scene. It still sticks out to me as a horrible choice in edit. That said, Corrin is so incredibly talented and did so well aside from that scene.
I love the authenticity of this show and other ones like Anne with an E, but I sadly cancel my subscription because a lot of the shows now just lack that authenticity I loved so much :(
First 4 seasons where impeccably done, other seasons merely interesting over all Great series of the British Monarchy. Will be missed but going further would be gossip and not history
I resent the producer for not giving the series a proper ending. There's simply a 20-year gap missing in the story of Queen Elizabeth. Sure, the ending was very emotional, and it couldn’t have been done better at that time, but there was definitely far more that could have been explored. Especially the state funeral, the rifts between Harry, Meghan, and the Royals, the death of Prince Philip, and even the early days of King Charles would have provided enough material for at least one or two more seasons.
I am really sorry they didn't decided to do Seasons 7&8, coming to nowadays and show the continuity of THE CROWN. The show started with one ruler passing it to the next, it would have been amazing to show the next transition, further emphasising that the story will depict the amazing life of Queen Elizabeth II and her importance on modern day Britain, but not forgetting that the institution is much bigger than the person itself. Would have loved also to see the creators interpretations of everything that happened between 2000-2024... But who knows, may be in an year or two they will decide to do it! Let's make a petition :)
I wanted it too. The platinum jubilee happened, simply the greatest thing in the history of the monarchy, it would be beautiful to have a farewell showing the last years of the queen and the world until 2022, so many things happen
they dumbed down diana, they never captured the truth about diana or the way most of the UK actually didnt like her, she would do anything to stay famous and in the papers all the time. she was like a 1990s vacuous social media influencer jumping on any and every bandwagon to make herself look good, can you imagine if a famous person today said "i only want to be queen of peoples hearts" total cringe.
The Queen of England and Mr Phillip and mi5 and mi6 should of had a flie on king Faisal and king Faisals daughter that always back though the back door of Buckingham Palace with Ron eupstine or Jeffery eupstine from somewhere in the Middle East that new Sadam Hussain that was king Faisals plane loads of kids that took the busses to the back door of Buckingham Palace as king Faisals took the front door with Her Majesty the Queen of England
They should have kept going a couple more seasons with the Pandemic the death of her husband and could have ended with her death and Charles taking the Crown there is so much more of Elizabeth story to tell
True, I feel they skipped over too many stuff, like Phillips dying &. His funeral , I didn’t like how they went from Charles and carmillas wedding to her death ( it took me awhile to figure out that was Queen Elizabeth death / funeral scene. Didn’t like the ending at all!!😊
Some of your historical facts are wrong and do not involve the relationship between The Queen of England and king Faisal and king Faisal daughter that visited Andy and Charlie and Anne and Edward and Mr Phillip
I miss this show, and I love that they had all three iterations of Elizabeth share the screen for the first time.
That scene made me cry!
I’m watching it the second time on Netflix.. just love it….
The Crown is now and forever will be one of my absolute favorite shows!
The first season will forever be one of the greatest seasons of any television show I've ever watched. Truly riveting. A perfect period piece. Essential viewing!
Perfectly said
This show is probably the best show ever made. So good, mesmerizing, so beautiful, touching, and interesting! I can't remember how many times I've watched scenes from The Crown as it is always a pleasure to watch it again.
Thank you for bringing one of the most interesting CV of a monarch to millions of watchers worldwide!
I waited with bated breath for each season. Quality history lessons.
No one else could have played Diana the way Ms. Dibicki did, it was like I was seeing Diana herself back from the dead!
Tithe very last scene of the last episode was pure magic! It brings tears to my eyes every time I see it. Best scene ever filmed in my opinion
Same here. It was beautifully shot, deserved the Emmy nod for directing.
Debicki is astonishing as Diana.
THE CROWN MUST WIN MUST ALWAYS WIN!!!!!!
One of the best television shows in history. ❤
The very best of British actors were in this series and I enjoyed EVERY moment watching them.
Best show ever made by mankind.
Such an incredible show. I miss it so much 😢 Love Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton, they really capture every nuance.
This show was my happiness for the years we had it. I just adore it.
There are shows you feel like one or two characters 'carry' the show; This isn't one of them. Everyone was brilliant, from the younger ones to the epic Helena Benham Carter, the character I loved the most. It showed the good, the bad, the difficult, and the beautiful in a perfect way!
I would want a series showing King George VI and Queen Mother young days from childhood to first meeting to marriage
Not that far back, but there is a miniseries of their meeting and then marriage called Bertie and Elizabeth. The movie, the King's Speech, is very good too
Helena Bodman Carter is the queen mother/ then Duches of York in The King's Speech.
The casting was so amazing. You have veterans and newbies in a single show. They could've chosen to get veteran actors only but they took a risk and the whole cast was just perfect👏👏
This makes me want to rewatch the series for the like hundredth time
as someone who is not British, I think it's one of the greatest tv shows of all time. every aspect of it is flawless. the performances are compelling and the soundtracks are brilliant. thank you for producing such a detailed series .

I am so so proud of this production ❤❤ 🇿🇲 it's will definitely stand a test of time!!!
This movie is somehow a symbol and part of the British monarchy
I gobbled up all 6 seasons in 2 weeks 😭 it was way better than I thought it would be
I also want six seasons of Tommy Lascelles life hehe
Words can't express my deep appreciation and love for this show. It was so familiar right away with the large number of actors who had been on "Midsomer Murders" over the years, some of whom were just starting in their careers. Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Imelda Staunton, Marion Bailey, and Veronica Hamilton are just a few who were on it.
I have watched this series over and over. It was even more captivating when QE 2 quietly passed in Balmoral. The decades long mystery of this era.
The sets, the costumes, the music, the sounds, the props, the makeup, the camera work and along with the other various backstage works, all perfectly complimented the beautiful characters to create this extraordinary series ❤ kudos to everyone involved in making this possible for all of us to enjoy 🎉
Thank you!!
Peter Morgan... you succeeded!
Oh my God, that was stunning
*The story of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor would make a nice follow up, from his Younger days to his sad death* a rather interesting life. Especially with the Sussexes in Vogue
I watched the whole season within a week it's just like addiction, so much information learned from this masterpiece ❤ I already start missing it, ❤
I cried watching this.
It's so beautifully done.
Imelda, you are Queenly. Congratulations.Bravo 😅

Just top 👌🏽 draw.
Lol it is hard to believe Winston Churchill was Dick Soloman.
@@peachygal4153 John Lithgow did play Soloman, but he was outstanding as Winston Churchill.
i love this show so much and the end of episode one is like cinema. hooks you in immediately. its all cinema but that moment really is everything really sets it all up.
I really wish where I could listen to this variation of the soundtrack (New Queen). I'm obsessed, please put me out of my misery.
hans zimmer's killer soundtrack shouldn't go under-appreciated.

THIS, this is how you close a show. What an end to an era.
I am drawn to great writing, if by chance the script were ever published and I could watch along side it would be in heaven. The way the actors interpret that script would be a master class in acting. I am on the third time watching the six seasons.

i never watched it but loved the cast

One of a kind show
I love the whole series but my favorite Seasons are 1, 3 and 6 💙🔥
No one, absolutely no one can out act Imelda Staunton, but the rest of the cast were marvelous too.
Agree.❤
The support structure for the show is perhaps what Diana sought for her position as a royal.
And i think they did a great job by adding only" here and there " drama bits and held it mostly accurate.
PS: mostly example= william gives autographs in school, in real they are not allowed
wish it went further with harry and will. Would've been nice
Waiting for the dvd release although rewatching it constantly on Netflix. I have the other five seasons already
DVD ?
Didn’t like how they skip the death / funeral of Phillip, the pandemic, they go from talking about her & phillips funeral arrangements & u don’t even reliaze it thenBAM ur at her funeral not a good way to end the series, it was like they was hurrying up to finish it !!

Claire Foy's little pixie lesbian haircut is absolutely giving me life
Thank you everyone who had a hand in making this series.❤
Imelda Staunton was far better as the older Queen than Coleman. Imelda was softer and smiled more imho
I did meet the Queen
Oh my god the Crown is back😎
I love the authenticity of this show and other ones like Anne with an E, but I sadly cancel my subscription because a lot of the shows now just lack that authenticity I loved so much :(
Finally.
80% of the crew, 100% of the audience.
It was miraculous💗
First 4 seasons where impeccably done, other seasons merely interesting over all Great series of the British Monarchy.
Will be missed but going further would be gossip and not history
I feel Charles Dance would have excelled as Prince Phillip.
❤

True, but they managed to finish it in a way that represented this in a respectful way, without needing a long passage of time.
A beautiful piece of work which will also be plagued due to the absence of a disclaimer- critical in an age of misinformation.
I hate that the story of Diana and Charles near the end made me stop watching. The performances overall were phenomenal.
Spinoff please netflix

And please bring back Imelda Staunton as the Queen.
Imelda Staunton is by far the best older Queen.
Imelda Staunton had that warmth and slight softness, not to say cheekiness of her majesty
Also she has the royal eye colour
I wanted it too. The platinum jubilee happened, simply the greatest thing in the history of the monarchy, it would be beautiful to have a farewell showing the last years of the queen and the world until 2022, so many things happen

Over ? What about the current drama ? And prince Andrew Scandal 😂😂😂😂

Yes, please!!!
Pin please
IMO the Diana actress was shockingly un believable
Some of your historical facts are wrong and do not involve the relationship between The Queen of England and king Faisal and king Faisal daughter that visited Andy and Charlie and Anne and Edward and Mr Phillip
The Diana in the second season sucked.
... in my opinion.
This stupid show should never have been made. Utter trash for the masses.
