    Always useful to see exactly where the spatula goes to get the case off, I managed to find enough space in exactly the same spot, appreciate your work :)

    Really hate that they hid the screws under big rubber strips that can easily break

    Hi Ricks Tech, Many thanks for the vid very informative and extremely helpful. Questions how much was the HD and what was the the part number for the one you replaced. Also as mine is brand new but runs slow would it benefit from a ram upgrade to 16gb and assume this is also an easy replacement in one unit. Also the reasons for it running slow are a mystery top me but when running my video editing software Wondershare Filmora9 it can not run at full frame rate I again assume ram capacity. It has no issue running the vids straight from the drone mem card. Thanks in advance

      Hi, sorry for the slow reply
      replace your internal sata hard drive with any "2.5" Sata SSD" if you have an i3 or faster in your machine you will notice a huge difference

    I have hp 14s dq3026tu. I have some questions i hope you answer
    1. The Task Manager shows it has 2 ram slots.. i have 4gb ddr4 in it. The Tast Manager shows Slot 1 out of 2 in 4gb. It means my laptop has 2 ram slots but when i opened my laptop it has only one Slot. Kindly guide me
    2) i want to install 2.5 hdd or ssd in it. There is space but no Bracket and Flexor cable. I am not able to find it. Can you please give me any link from where i can get and which cable wi support? Thank you

    I literally don't have anything to pry it with...In the end I gave up upgrading my RAM because I couldn't get it to open completely.

    Hey Rick I have the exact same laptop, I’m trying to find the cmos battery but can’t see one do you know where it is?? Cheers

    • @rickstechrepairs
      @rickstechrepairs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      just looking at the board in the video at 4:06
      im going to assume since the battery is built in, that if you disconnect it for a few minutes it may reset the cmos.

    Thanks for this video, Really informative.
    Anyway I have the same laptop here however, Because of the hot weather in the morning, the fan sound is loud when it's hot and the screen in the middle starts to have dim light, I usually shut it down and let it cool whenever it happens. I'm really worried what should I do?

    • @rickstechrepairs
      @rickstechrepairs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You open it up and blow the dust of the cooper cooler, also replace the thermal paste
      Otherwise there isn't much else that can be done

    We have the almost same laptop, mine is ryzen 5 with nvme but the laptop itself is crap
    Overheats so quick due to the poor cooling design(small vents) and when i pry to open it and change the thermal paste i was surprised on its cheap plastic build chassis is. Quite dissapointed and even the cooling system was bad.

    • @rickstechrepairs
      @rickstechrepairs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly there isn't much i can suggest to improve this.
      i agree the cooling is not good enough

    Hi. I've got HP 14-dk0008 which looks almost identical inside like this one from the video. My one is dead. When power on just the fan will go on and off every few seconds also power light do the same thing - Few sec on and off. I've checked DDR's and they are fine. My next aim was to take the CMOS battery out. And here you go. WHERE THE HELL IS THE CMOS BATTERY? :-)

    • @rickstechrepairs
      @rickstechrepairs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the cmos is battery back uped by the internal laptop battery.
      So disconnect the internal battery and give it 30 seconds
      Then see if you can power up the laptop using only the power cable
