    Kenton Lake in the beginning? As a Tennessee resident, I’d rather go up to Wayne Forest than go to the Smokies 😅. It’s way, WAY overrated in my opinion. People ask me about coming down and I usually just tell them not to, it’s just a tourist trap mostly. Hopefully you still had a good time though.

      Yes! I found that spot using the iOverlander app. Decent spot for a night!
      We’ve always enjoyed going to the Smoky Mountains. There are definitely areas that are just a tourist trap, but it’s not too hard to avoid a lot of that if you want. Sometimes it’s fun to be a tourist too!

      I’m probably biased because I live here and take it for granted truth be told. I’d recommend Linville Gorge Wilderness and the Old NC 105. I think you and your family would really enjoy that.

      @@Appalachianventure I’ll add it to the list! Ive lived in some beautiful places and have taken them for granted, it’s hard when that’s your everyday.
