One thing that stands out to me as I watch this series is that you can see how well these children are being raised. It stands out because it’s such a rare thing to see.
I just binge-watched the entire season, and I’m blown away. As someone originally from Namibia and now living in South Africa, this resonated with me on so many levels. It wasn’t just the adventure that captivated me but also the genuine human connection. The way you reflect on your emotions, communicate, and raise your children is something truly special-something we don’t often see anymore. It was both heartwarming and inspiring.
I love it! You got to see one of my favourite places in the peak flower season, it looked like a dream! Thank you for visiting us, and sharing your passion and hardwork with us all! Keep it up! See you again soon!
The two major things Clay and Torfi said that stood out the most was when they mentioned Time. Bringing your kids with you and mentioning how time marches on with or without you, and how you think you have all this time but you really don't. That gave me goosebumps, brought tears to my eyes, as I have a 6 month old boy that I want to give him the life all the boys have. This has really pushed me to finish my overland build. I probably feel like Clay did in the beginning of XO. Financially is it smart to build an overlanding rig, God no, but it can it lead to the best experiences this world has to offer, yes. Clay, Rachelle, XO Team, be on the lookout for a serious 4th Gen 4runner build in the near future. Maybe a rig worthy enough to tag along with your team.
I have followed most, if not all, of your series and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I used to do many 4x4 trails and over landing trips with my family but alas no more. So following yours is somewhat nostalgic. As a South African, I had been to many of the places you went in this series and it was great to see them all again through your eyes. My very first overland trail was the Namaqua Eco trail. I did feel like pointing out some great places you missed on your route, but then there simply wasn't enough time to see everything. As mentioned in the episode it felt like you had a lot of time but you could have spent a year on this trip. Thank you so much for sharing all your trips with us. Wishing you safe travels back home and many more adventures.
I know you guys hear this often , your films have made the overland community what it is today , thank you, as always very much enjoyed this series wonderful to see you incorporate the kids like you do.
Another Saffer here- I have fallen for you guys… love your channel, the team work, the attitude and pure positivity. Would love to meet you guys one day!
Here are some Campsites for next trip to South Africa : west coast ,Trekoskraal Beach Campsite , Birthday Bay , Cedarberg Crystal pools Campsite , Visit : West Coast Fossil Park . Lesotho Highlands ,Katse Dam , Sehlabathebe National Park , Maletunyane Falls , I have counted 50 + waterfalls just on one mountain pass . You can Wild Camp in the Highlands ,Highest Pass 3251 meters about sea level. Just some extra info for you guys. Enjoy your work .Regards Justin Stark, Cape Town
Truly amazing, awe inspiring, and an epic journey. Thanks for the amazing cinematography and sharing this truly one-of-a-kind experience with all of us.
Binged watched the series over a weekend sitting here is South Africa, what stunning people, footage, landscapes and storytelling, loved every minute & so glad EO had an awesome time too!
Africa episodes 1 to 10 just epic. Watched every episode. Learnt alot as I enjoyed much. Well knit family and I admire how you bring up your boys Clay.Well in.
Very nicely done guys! As a South African, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Clay, the relationship you have with your boys and the entire family dynamic you have is something special. Makes me look forward to starting my own family too one day. Thank you once again.
This is how I want to travel with my family and friends, especially my kids. This episode had my eyes watery. Great content....I will be amongst those who wait to see more of Africa from this channel. It good to see my own country and continent from an eye of a foreigner, makes me want to Get out and Go!!!!! I though the Nordic Series was the best, and now this. Behind my own back yard. Respect Mr. Croft and The Team.
I came across an episode of this channel, I don't remember which one, BUT I have watched ALL AFRICA episodes after!!! Very well prepared, very informative, very family friendly, WE ALL WATCHED at home, VERY inspiring; I cannot wait a time I can train up my son like Croft's; THAT is how to raise young men! This channel is really everything OVERLAND EXPEDITION. I felt I was in the trip, and that is all a film should be. THANK YOU XOVERLAND! THANK YOU❤
Kids... you are so lucky! I am Ethiopian & and I wish I had a time well spent like yours when I was at your age. And I can see you have been well raised. Great job parents.
15 mins to go, already can’t wait for the next expedition. Hope Ryder and Eli will join the team again, loved seeing them for the first time this series. They should be on all future expeditions in my opinion 😁. Bring on XO Series 7 🙌🏻🙌🏻.
Another fantastic series of films. As a wheelchair user, I know what you are doing is near impossible for me, even for the petrolhead that I am, but am loving seeing what you do and how you go about doing it. Living every step through your eyes and those of your cinematographers. Now looking forward to your next series.
Thank you for visiting us in Southern Africa and South Africa. Looking forward to your return. More of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique all await your return. Wonderful series. Thank you team X!
I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning. I have to say, wow, this was amazing. Really cool to see how far you have come and what you have accomplished. Truly inspiring!!!
@6:03 everytime you get like that just remember what your doing, it's not just about getting to the destination, its the journey that makes the memories. You're doing and seeing things most people can't.
This is incredible. I want to thank you for making me explore the world through you guys. I have always watched all your episodes and to be honest, you are the best expedition overland group ever. I am eagerly waiting for the next series. much respect. Thank you for visiting my continent Africa.
Such an enjoyable series this has been. The family comradery adds a new dynamic making it so easy to imagine the quality adventures to come. We'll done Team and guests!
Fantastic episode…You have seen much than many locals. As a South African , watching your boys made me so nostalgiac for the first time my father entrusted me with loading the vehicle for the trip…and heading up to the Northern Cape and Namibia…the first time I got make the fire and cook on it whilst sleeping in a tent in the garden aged 8 When there is a special occasion we light a fire and cook on it😂😂… My boys now say to me…” imagine living somewhere where you have not smelt the neighbours braaing chops and wors” 😂 and then popping to the shop for some meat and lighting your own fire.. the special bond that weeks on the road brings to a family is inexplicable and that is visible with you guys.. These experiences more than make up for any school days lost… Your editing and mood are fantastic. Well done… First one of your videos I have seen…pressed Subscribe 5 min in…
I by chance came across this channel while you were still waiting for the vehicles to arrive, followed and watched the whole journey. I have loved every video. As a novice overland i have learnt a lot from you guys especially how much preparation is needed, the teamwork needed to pull off such a big undertaking BUT what really stood for me is the talk between father and sons in Namibia on top of the mountains on the Van Zyl pass, that was absolutely heartwarming.. ❤️❤️
Awesome video as always XO Crew. This as been a of the most epic series in XO history and now it’s time to wait patiently for the return to Africa series in the Fall of this year. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
This has really instilled in me the fire to see the areas around me. What I like the most is the simplicity in narration, clear to the point. It is just pure storytelling and very relatable and it makes us want to follow suit with the simplicity it shows yet immersing.
I can't wait to have you back in Africa. Hope you get to experience more of our South Africa. There is just so much more to see. Such a plwasure to watch your videos. Thank You

This was such a great series, you guys did a great job capturing all the beauty Africa has to offer and the story telling was above all expectations! I was on the edge of my couch during the final clip of the video, excited for this Fall!
Team XO did it again! This was your best series yet. You sure taught the rest of us about the importance of the little things like extra bolts and washers and the importance of checking gear and not ignoring that bump and rattle that didn’t sound normal. Thank you for sharing your travels with us and for making us feel as if we were in the trucks with you. Can’t wait until your next adventure. Great job to everyone, especially the boys who really stepped up.
Greetings from Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, South Africa I really enjoyed your Africa tour. It was interesting to see well-known landmarks through your eyes.. It is just a pity you didn't go to Kubu Island at the MakgadiKgadi salt pans in Botswana. It is really a magical place. It is also a pity that you didn't show any footage of the trip down to Cape Town as well as the trip from Cape Town to Aghulas. ( I do understand that there is a limit on the footage you can use ) I'm also curious about whether you took the scenic route via Gordon's Bay and Hermanus or via Caledon and Bredasdorp to Aghulas? As a South African, I'm also curious about your opinion on our Boerewors sausages and biltong ( your jerkee) and droe wors ( dry sausages) On you next Africa trip you must visit the Kruger National Park, then enter Mozambique at the Phafuri border post in the northern tip of the Kruger, then travel along the bush road via Mapai ( you can only do it during our winter months when the Limpopo river flow is low enough to drive throw the river, as there is no bridge to cross the river) to Vilanculos and take a dhow trip to the Bazurotu Islands, from there via Beira and Tete to Lake Malawi or if you are adventurous, which you are, , via Caia and cross the Zambezi on a faery or the Railway bridge just west of Caia I can't 1:wait for your next trip. You were an excellent ambassador for Southern Africa.

Can anyone please let me know @29:20 Where can I find those black round jerry cans that are placed in the spare tire wheel well? Do they go on factory toyota spare wheel chain or need to upgrade? I have 100 series 05 Land Cruiser.
