    Your wedding video samples are the best I have ever seen from Sony camera. What post processing software would you recommend for amateur videographer for fun?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, I really appreciate that Stanley! I use Final Cut Pro X, so if you're a Mac user, iMovie is a great starter editing program that is basically a simplified version of Final Cut. Though I think Final Cut itself is fairly intuitive and easy to learn. Davinci Resolve is also free and cross platform, but might take a little time to learn (but very powerful).

    Great looking footage. How do you go about colour grading your footage?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Most of these shots here are S-Cinetone with some moderate corrections in post to exposure, white balance/tint, hue/saturation and contrast, but really not too far off from what was shot. I'm planning on covering some of my color grading process in a future video.

      @@andrewsaraceni Wow! Did not know that s- cinetone can look this good. Whenever I try working with it my footage comes out cartoonish. Thank you for taking the time to reply will definitely be keeping an eye out for that.

    Thank you Andrew! Great tutorial! When do you use S-log3 or S-cinetone (Auto ISO)? Do you use S-log3 in mixing light situations?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No problem! S-Log3 I use in more controlled shooting situations, or where there's more ambient/artificial light in general. In darker/run-and-gun situations, that's where in-color profiles like S-Cinetone really help. I'm usually always manually exposing though, and not using auto ISO.

      @dovklein7721 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@andrewsaraceni Thank you. At the dance party at the wedding when the lights and the intensity of the lighting changes all the time. How is it possible to use S-cinetone in a native ISO of 125 or 500. Is this sensitivity enough?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dovklein7721 It depends, with a fast enough lens (e.g. f/1.8, f/1.2) it can be, but often times I can get away with even going above the high ISO. I talk a bit about that in the video in the Low Light Performance section.

    • @dovklein7721
      @dovklein7721 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewsaraceni Thanks Andrew! At minute 4:04 it was shoot at S-cinetone ISO 2500 /3200 /4000 ?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dovklein7721 Yep, those shots you're seeing were all in that range. So I think you can get away with shooting above the high ISO in certain situations if you need to.

    Unless I missed it... Question. 4k60 crops at full frame. So does it crop again in 4k60 apsc mode(the 4k60 crop+apsc crop)? 🤔

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, in this case, you can only shoot 4K 60 fps in APS-C crop mode, so it automatically kicks you into crop mode when you set the record settings for 4K 60 (but you can't activate crop mode beyond that).

    for weeding videography what kind of focus do you use?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For video, typically autofocus - AF-C in a wide area, sometimes manual for a locked off shot to avoid things getting out of focus.

    very nice tuto. Interesting to see you are using a 24-70 (heavy isn't it ?) and 16-35 (new PZ F/4 ?). being newbie in sony and video, I would be very interested to see you in action in a wedding... (street photo also helps !), handheld, changing AF-C to manual focus in some cases,...
    I am now going to look your other tuto about your recommended video settings
    -which ND filters do you use ? magnetic ?
    - which software ?
    - which smallrig case would you advise for a74 ?
    - are you sometimes using a gimball ? I am looking the new rs3

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I'm actually using the new 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II (it's smaller/lighter than the original GM) and the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM. I'm a Final Cut Pro user; I have a number of tutorials on my channel around editing with FCPX. Definitely planning on covering a lot more of your questions (e.g. ND filters, gimbal, rig build with SmallRig cage), and my process for filming weddings this fall, so subscribe and be on the lookout for those videos. 🙂

    Cine 4 movie profile has about 2 more stops of dynamic range than s cinetone give it a try

      Interesting, yeah I use Cine4/Pro color on my a7 III to match with S-Cinetone on my a7S III and a7 IV. Can't say I've noticed a huge difference DR-wise though.

    About overheating .. it is a real problem actually. Yesterday wedding - 22°C, sunny weather. Camera lasted 17 minutes in 4K 50p and then it went off due to overheating. I can t imagine how will we shoot on the hotter days upcoming.

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's odd to happen (even in 4K 60p) that quickly at a lower temperature. Direct heat/sunlight on the rear of the camera can also effect the recording times though, if that was a factor.
