I think so too. I'm not super into Audis but there's absolutely nothing else like it. I'm shopping for one :)
Been a dream car of mine for a while. The dream might come true! We'll see after a test drive.

I have the 2010, but unless you're a top mechanic yourself, this car is expensive to keep! Just got quoted $4k to replace the radiator fan assembly ($3k in parts and$750 in labor because the whole front end needs to come off to get to the fans...), which kept running until it drained the battery. Also got quoted $2k for carbon cleaning of the air injector system, which throws error codes so far won't pass emissions... Nice to drive, when it works, no doubt.

Just bought a 2009 manual. Got it 4 weeks ago… it’s been at the shop for 3 weeks, bought it for 16,500$ and got quoted 5000$. I own one but I’ve never really gotten to drive it…

I have the V-6 A5. I added a intake and got one of the larger throttle bodies, like the ones that IE and APR makes but you don't have to have a tune for this one, and added a tune and got like 25 hp out of it. I have not done anything to the exhaust yet but they do make long tube headers for for the V-8 S5 and the V-6 S5 that add 20 - 30 hp. They are stupid expensive but they make them. The V-6 S5 headers fit the A5 3.2 as well. Don't add a supercharger to this the way some people say because the compression ratio is to high. 12 or 12.5:1 I think. And you don't have forged internals. So if you add forced induction you are just waiting to throw a rod through the crank.

Keep us updated with the S5 👍🏽 . I’m gonna be getting one in the near future. Armytrix is claiming 400+ hp with their exhaust and tune. I have heard them with a muffler delete and they sound pretty good as well.

    • @kalvinsmith5723

I've done the cutouts right at the bottom of the header, it was nice but over doing it. I after about 6 months went to a straight pipe all the way back with a X pipe and added some nice tips. Sounds lovely.

I just did my valves and it was WAY worse than yours. I used walnut shells to clean mine and it worked like a charmed. Still have a misfire on cylinder 2 but I found oil on that plug. So I will changing the valve cover gaskets because I also a oil. I already replaced the oil filter housing gaskets, which is common. I have the Borla exhaust and get compliments on how well it sounds all the time. It is not obnoxiously loud but has a great rumble and sound accelerating.

Perhaps a nicer touch would be the RS5 front grill with gloss black and not chrome surround. Also do the same for the fog light grills with a honeycomb look and gloss black trim rings around the for lights instead of chrome. The only chrome you want to see on the front is the Audi rings. This would be a perfect toucj for the black S5.
Perhaps take it one step further with CF mirror covers and CF rear diffuser?
Oh, and replace the woefully weak rear B&O sub with a nice 8ohm 10" sub. There's plenty enough power from the oem B&O amp to drive it.

Hi there! My name is Calvin and i own a 2012 Audi S5 and i changed the exhaust and was kind of hesistant going with a Flowmaster but man it gives it a deeper and meaner sound. I have the the RS look at the tips the oval single 3inch on each side. Changed the piping from catalytic on back for better airflow. Flowmaster sounds great on the S5

I have Armytrix, hands down best sounding you can buy. But I think it takes second place in most expensive exhaust offered. I'm sure you can custom fab a brilliant exhaust for a fraction of what I spent. I get headaches easy, so a valvetronic exhaust was important to me. Open valves my car sounds the business. But on long drives the drone gets to me. It's nice to have the ability to close the valves or set on auto function(rpm controlled). I'm interested in seeing a custom valvetronic setup. May be great content for your channel. You should think about it lol. Your car is my ideal spec, very nice! Enjoy!

    • @hanifsimpson

They say an oil catch can really helps slow the build up of carbon, as well as a oil change every 5K instead of 10. My car has never been done, I'm at 108K now. Going to do a clean this weekend. It's definitely in worse shape than your S5's. Maybe I'll do a video on mine as well

Not sure I’d soak the valves unless they were closed...each at TDC on the compression stroke. I don’t think having that solvent in cylinder for a long period is a good plan. Thinking it may wash the cylinder and cause scoring.
