    This old piece of Cherokee wisdom never gets old. It summarizes how life is a constant struggle, not only against forces around us, but above all against our own 'ego'.
    "Just as the earth attracts everything to the centre of gravity, and every object thrown upward into space will come down, so also material ideas and worldly thoughts attract man to the centre of self. Anger, passion, ignorance, prejudice, greed, envy, covetousness, jealousy and suspicion prevent man from ascending to the realms of holiness, imprisoning him in the claws of self and the cage of egotism. " ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
    Freeing ourselves from our inner-critics is a challenge that we all experience. And arguably feeding the right wolf leads to a happier existence.
    How do you feed your wolves?

      Dear Shade, need your help in this scenario. A junior has responded to a query saying " we have already discussed this multiple times". Email is cc'ed to 3 of thesenior managers. Now it has only been discussed once with me and I might have been available in another call where it was discussed with client. I do not remember. But how to handle this situation? I feel it's a petty issue. But when managers start considering feedbacks I know they will raise this point . I can neither say -" no . It was not discussed multiple times " in a written response as it looks useless amongst all other works nor can I ignore it. As it not only passes a bad impression to my manager but also gives d liberty to junior to treat me lightly in future communications.
      Pls help
      Thanking u in advance. 🙏

    • @ShadeZahrai
      @ShadeZahrai  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you for the question. Without knowing much about this situation - I suggest that you respond to the Email thanking the junior, share your side of the facts and proactively offer a solution to avoid this situation repeating itself. In that way you do not appear to be defensive, you don't hurt the junior's feelings and the managers will notice that you take initiatives and responsibility. Hope this helps or at least offers you some ideas to work with.

    It's important to highlight that emotions like anger, etc aren't always negative traits. Being angry against injustice for example.
    What matters is how we direct the energy of these so called negative emotions and also the intent behind the expression of these emotions.
    I may show anger at a child for ignoring my warnings of staying at a safe distance from danger, like avoiding going close to a fire. This anger is out of care and concern.
    Anger and other such emotions have a place in this existence. Just don't OD on either side of the spectrum.

    • @ShadeZahrai
      @ShadeZahrai  ปีที่แล้ว

      To clarify, hatred, injustice and envy are the absence of love, justice and contentment - just like darkness is the absence of light. It's interesting that in our reality you can't know one without the other. We can't know the concept of light without darkness. Perhaps we need these 'darknesses' to help us appreciate the value and importance of good qualities of kindness, confidence, excellence, dignity and truthfulness. However, seeking to have a balance between both doesn't serve anyone and only leads to mediocrity.
