I like the idea of warming up the car for 10 minutes and then let it cool down for 5 minutes. That is clever! And indeed the torque wrenches are for sissies. Tighten until squeak and you will be fine.
Stay safe. Axle stands might be a good idea 👍
Always wise to check the plug gap before installing..in this case its 1mm.And ' just tighten up' (spark plugs) should be torque to 22Nm Always refer to a workshop manual!
A good tip is to put a flattened cardboard box under the car that will catch any spilt oil from the catch can keeps the ground clean. Axle stands should be used not a good idea going under a car just on a jack!
thanks for the detailed explanation! the oil looks disgusting though, this should have been done 20000km ago. poor lil UP! :(
Before anything take dip stick out and filler cap, Fill qith oil and cap and stick back on and start engine till oil light goes off and then check oil
Always replace the sump plug crush seal
only spark plugs have a sort of crush seal
Very comprehensive video... but 360P quality in 2023? 😳
i made the service on my skoda citigo, cabin air filter, air filter, oil, oil filter, drain plug - only 75 Euros for the stuff 🙂
You omitted the pollen filter. And a check on brake pad thickness and disc/drum condition would be good...
Very good tutorial, if you could do a cam belt change video that would be great. I have a 62 plate VW UP Black and it is a very reliable car. All the best.
Thank you, I don’t have the car anymore, I just do the odd bit on my own vehicles
Great video. I'm going to give this. 🤞
Much appreciated
Thank you!
You did not locate the hook on the air intake into the rubber bush next to the dipstick.
Thanks.
try to doing a service on my car. No airfilter cleaning into the car?
How do you remove stubborn coil packs which hand pressure alone cant do
Good question, pliers and a flat head screw driver. They definitely can be stubborn to get out sometimes.
Heres a tip - get a cordless drill with a torx bit for the airbox. Also, for the oil filter, use a small G-clamp for your oil filter, instead of punching a screwdriver through it. Less messy
Is there a website where I can find the service parts for the VW Up? Looking for one but I not live in the UK
That’s a good question, I’m not too familiar with the store names in other country’s, you could always try eBay/Amazon or ring up VW themselves and get them to order the parts in🙂
@@AlphaEngineer2022 thanks I’ll try doing that!
@@AlphaEngineer2022 Found everything except the spark plugs. What’s the code number/size for those that you used?
@@destaneydanay3470 hi, I’ve sold the car now so it’s difficult to recall,
I think the following should be ok
ngk plugs: NGK Part No - ZKER6A-10EG
Bosch plugs: Bosch Nickel Spark Plug
NGK Part No - Y7LER02
@@AlphaEngineer2022 ok great, thanks!
Beats going ton an Arnold Shark
Forgot the cabin filter then?
It's a right fiddly job.
@@MickyG1152 I did it today first change in since new 10 years ago!
Music not required! You've ruined an otherwise OK video with useless music.
