You’re the only one of the many…many videos I’ve watched for the pocket 3 that gave a recommendation of which sd card to use. Appreciate that as a first time buyer of a camera like this!
Thank you for this review! I've been looking at this camera for a while and watching a lot of videos... this feels like the most honest review I've watched. I appreciate you filming the majority of the video WITH the Osmo P3 so we can see both the out of the box footage as well as the d-log.
I think it is quite worth the money spent for the capability of the camera.. i would definitely go for this just because of easy to use, small in size, light and the quality of video is pretty amazing. Excellent review👍👏👏👏
Great video! I just received my Pocket 3 with Combo Creator kit yesterday. My bday gift to myslef.😊 I was looking at the Sony ZV's and Canon AE's, but was drawn to the size and portability. I want to film my kids activities and this will be easier to carry around. Haven't got into the nuts and bolts yet, so I have been watching reviews like yours to get some tips. Thanks for your honest independent review!
Thank you it means a lot, I’ve messed with the ZV1 a bit because my wife had owned one & I did like it but this just does so much more. And it’s a much more compelling product that serves way more use cases.
I pre-ordered this as a birthday present 🎁 for myself as well. But i have to wait fir another month since this dji pocket 3 creative combo is sold out now in my country
Good review! To me your footage seemed overexposed or washed out. Wondering if a -.5 or 1.0 exp. Comp. control might have helped? Or do you think it was not overexposed?
There are definitely a couple of shots where it is because of my choice to shoot in complete auto for the video. I think a 1.0 exposure comp would have def saved the image and not have blown out so many of the highlights. I’m also really tempted to get the ND filter for it.
@@valismindThanks. I have the pocket 2 and it tends to overexpose highlights by a stop or so quite often. If I was shooting my face against a bright sky as you were doing in this video, my face would be underexposed and dark.
I’m not sure you’re right about needing to purchase a receiver if, down the road, you decide to add the Mic 2 to the ‘basic’ kit. My understanding is that the ability to receive the Mic 2 audio is built in to the camera not part of the extra battery or any other module. Further, for anyone hoping to record, for instance, a two-voice interview, the Mic (1) might be a much better purchase, offering on-board recording, remote control and pretty much everything the Mic 2 offers, except for 32-bit floating audio.
Sure, why not. But remember you are tied to one (wide) lens which is less than ideal for close-ups. Combined with a smartphone, it could be great. But the real question is whether it will do much more than you can already do on a phone. (Great for b-roll, unusual angles, run-and-gun shots), but you might find the constant wide angle gets a bit boring and limited if you’re shooting anything other than wide open spaces. Pocket 2 and 3 footage of landscapes and city streets etc always looks great - but you won’t see very many films with actors making use of them.
I was using a ZV E10 with the 35mm f1.8 lens and love it so much but still decided to purchase the OP3 creator combo. I love it. I was kinda expecting it to replace my E10 but the lack of background blur / bokeh effect slightly disappoints me. I mostly shoot in 9:16 for reels and shorts of workout videos so i need that extra background blur but it lacks that feature. For the landscape video though, it wins in every aspect hands down. Thanks Val for this video. P.S: (unrelated) i started subscribing to your channel when i first saw your video about your frustration in your iPhone 14PM. We had the same issues on an iPhone (im still frustrated with my iPhone to this day and decided to switch to S23U full time). So what made you switch back to the dark side?

Honest question, should I sell my old camera gear for the osmo pocket 3? for reference I currently have the Canon M50 with the 12mm samyang wide angle lens. Aside from that, I also have the 22mm canon lens and the 50mm. I could really use the extra money and it might be impractical to own 2 cameras?
It depends, technically speaking the M50 will give you a better image, if used right - but the versatility of the Pocket 3 makes it worth actually carrying wherever you go n
I'm literally in the same situation lol M50, with a cage, 3 lenses, and rode wireless mics. More than likely selling that and my Osmo Pocket 2 for this.

When use a smartphone screen or PC watch video with moving objects on YT or FB, do you see the differ between 4K, 6K, 8K or 10K? YT and FB and your home cable or cellular provider severely compress the signal which means information has been removed.
