Traverse vs Acadia - Size Comparison

- In 2017 The Acadia was redesigned and built smaller than the previous generation Acadia while in 2018 the all new Traverse got slightly larger. In this video I just wanted to highlight the difference in size which is mostly different in the 3rd row and the cargo area behind the third row of these two vehicles.

I fell in love with the 2015 Traverse when it came out. I tried the Durango & the Acadia. The traverse outdoes the other 2. I ended up getting a 2013 Traverse smaller cargo in the back but the 2nd & 3rd row is very spacious. 8 people fit nice in it. Added a TV with Roku & a custom audio system. I feel like my Traverse is like a 2nd home for me. Love It!

How did you add the TV (where) and how reliable are they?
@@caylee3277 i bought an aftermarket radio that has A/V input and bought a Roku+ with the RCA jacks cause they also have the HDMI option of Roku. So i plugged it into my radio and i normally turn on the hotspot on my phone while going on trips. I still have the truck and everything works great. I love cars so i take really good care of them. Im just about to reach 100K miles on it.
@@caylee3277 now the screen for the TV i bought it off a friend its a 16inch screen that folds up and down. I removed the middle row ceiling lights and used that to power it up and ran the wires to the head unit. Wasnt that much of a hassle if you know what youre doing.
Trying to buy an Equinox brought MD here as they don't have enough space or comfortable ride for my aging bad back. Hard to chose and this comparison is great.

What is the towing capacity between the traverse and the acadia? And the difference in gas?
This is the best video. I just watched the Traverse vs Tahoe. Tahoe is my dream car but I'm on a teacher's salary, so one day. I used to have a GMC Envoy and was convinced I'd get the Arcadia bc I like boxy looking cars, however, I ran across the Traverse and think it's the direction I should go. You sitting in the different seats were so beneficial. I'm tall so I like to sit in other seats as well to check leg room. I'll check to see if you have any other Traverse videos but this comparison video was perfect.

Very interesting comparison. Omg the pollen here in New Brunswick Canada is awful. It's hard to keep my black Malibu looking clean haha.
Yea, the dark colors are the hardest to keep clean
Hi Dave love your videos. Just wondering about the second row captains chairs, are they removable in the traverse or acadia?. I have a 120 lb dog I need to haul around, he's old and has arthritis in the rear legs so he needs the space. Thanks

Hi Kate. The 2017 Acadia and the 2017 Traverse are very similar. They do not have the ability to slide the seat with a car seat in it. That feature was added to the 2018 Traverse

Which is better 2019 acadia v.s 2020 traverse for buying
I am 13,000 miles over on my lease.... what can the dealership do to help my situation. Looking to lease another new car but with more miles allowed....
That's a tough one.. if it is a GM vehicle at .25 per mile you'll have a $3250 charge. GM used to waive 500 over miles ($2000) but stopped a couple months ago. All a dealership can do is try to work it into the next deal so you don't have to come out of pocket with the money

Drove a 2019 traverse and absolutely love it . Question I’ve had a lot of things go out on my traverse before 60 miles . Water pump, fuel pump , rack n pin steering , radio , fuel sensor relay to name a few . Has the technology gotten better with the new traverse ? That’s the only thing holding me back from buying it again . I contacted GMAC to send the receipts to try to recover the labor at least . I got shot

Sorry to hear about your issues. I can say that it's not the norm as far as my experience in selling them. The new 2019 are more advanced and our best seller maybe second only to the Equinox. My clients love them
Roy's Place , same thing happen to my 2010 Traverse, water pump, O 2 censors, catalytic converters, ac(twice) and the transmission was failing too, in the first 2 years of having it I end up spending over 2k to repair everything that went back, so I switch to a 2018 Acadia so far is good but I still miss the space in the Traverse, I wanted to get the 2018 traverse but I was afraid and I was told GMC is better than Chevrolet

No Sir, from the back on the center console to the rear door is 90".... 2x4 may fit diagonally

How large is the gas tank on a GMC Acadia in 2018.
The front wheel drive is 19 gallons and the AWD 22 gallons... 2.5L 4 cylinder is 21 city 25 highway... V6 is 18 city 25 highway
Hi, I'm a bit confused, how many passengers on the 3rd row fit on the acadia? I thought the 3rd row is for 3 passengers that is why is an SUV for 7 passengers total...
The New Acadia (2017-2021) always has a 2 passenger 3rd row but the second row you can get with buckets (6 passenger) or a bench seat (7 passenger)...... The Traverse is always a 3 passenger 3rd row so depending on the 2nd row it is either 7 or 8 passenger.... they are both great vehicles. If you want more room and size I'd go with the Traverse.

No, the Acadia is still the smaller of the two vehicles

@@rookiemvp2008 smaller, transmission problems, electrical problems, don’t get the 4cyl. It’s very underpowered and slow. The car is too heavy for the size engine. I do like the look of the Acadia more than the traverse. Everything else, I would give to the traverse.
@@DPLZNT I bought a 6 cyl acadia around Nov 2019. Loved the car since 😀 haven't had the issues you speak of, hopefully don't run into them in the future 🙏

I just bought a 2019 Acadia. I love it but use to my van and more room. However I no longer have little kids. My brother bought a 2017 traverse. I like the style of that traverse better than the 19 and 20 style. So I wanted newer and got the Acadia. The new black traverse reminded me too much of a hurst. 😳

I have a 2009 Chevy traverse and have had 2014 Dodge Grand caravan for my company vehicle the traverse is a better vehicle all around

3600 overhead cam engine is a pile o crap. burns oil, timing chain issues, cam phazer fail, throw rods ect ect
