@Peter that makes sense. Mh4u has that actual skill level with the different weapons, versus Gen you can do flips and shit with so many of the different weapons and I prefer the Mh4u game bc of that
The tip about "don't quit after 2nd cart" is good. I was online with 2 other people and we were fighting a virus Tetsucabra and Zamtrios and they both left me after the second card. I kid you not did I power through that thing and completed the quest my damn self. At the end all I had was a dung bomb and like 7 paintballs, but I made it.
+Vrais23 Had that twice. Once against a black Gravios, once against a Rathalos/Rathian Quest, while I just got HR4. That Black Gravios fight is still to this day one of my favourite moments in the game. Had two other game like that against a Brachidios and a Brute Tigrex... Wasn't as lucky/skilled then.
Same happened to me, but with my first g-rank gore magala. Had 5 minutes left when the quest ended and had to run back to the base to heal cause I run out of potions haha.
Wait a second when you get kicked it tells you that you had a disconnect error? As someone who has terrible internet, I wonder how many of those disconnects were actually kicks...
Just a heads up for all you new hunters watching this video. The tip at 2:36 about not attacking monsters when someone else has mounted it doesn't apply in MHGenerations. In Generations you can safely attack a mounted monster without interfering with the mount process. In fact it's encouraged that you do attack it while it's mounted as you can help the meter fill up faster.
Bobbytpt It is discouraged if you can’t attack the monster without losing sharpness, or if you’re going to get hit while attacking because you don’t do HP damage just mount damage.
+Sand Katze Lots of training on the monsters and reading their abilities and when to dodge using weapons fit for certain monsters makes you a skilled hunter... just dodge enough... play alone and figure it out, or play the previous monster hunter games and build your skill... lots of hours worth it...
Heinro Henderson I know, I've been playing solo all the time. I've only started using multiplayer two months ago, after about 680 hours in MH4U. I love this game.
I'd like to add, don't kick a person just because they cart once in a fight. Everyone carts eventually, especially if *you're fighting a Lv140 Teostra*. Happened with me, and if your hunter's name is "Whitney" and you have a shoutout "yall suck ass", well I hope you read this one.
TitoKeytarHero Don't get sour about specific players, you're wasting your time. If they actually take the time to make jackasses out of themselves on MH4U, they're 100% worse in real-life. Unless you get paired with Void. That's an entirely different story. If you get lobbied with Void, just leave the room. He's literal cancer.
I have 2 shoutout one with "THIS IS MY PERFECT FORM!!!" and the other with "Stupid Boy" I allways use when Zamtrios goes into fat mode, the first when he transforms and the second sometimes during battle quotes taken from omegaevolution/octaneblue videos... also BROOKLIN!!!
***** Gaijin understands that GS are an exception. He means not to constantly sheath if ur a lance, SNS, Horn, etc. user, then just run around waiting for someone to knock the monster down. If ur a lance, just back hop a few times. SNS, Horn, and DB already travel fast enough with their weapon drawn. GS is an exception, due to sheathing is its playing style.
Alexander Wloka I'm an insect glaive user and I sheath when I need high vintage points since I like keeping an eye on a monster and check it's movements when I know how it moves I dive right in and only sheath for sharpening and healing, also climb to jump and mount since I have no L&R so no pole vaulting or kinsect using for me. :(
Eshy If new players had to watch this they wouldn't want to start playing the game at all in the first place. Given that most of these were elitist nitpicks.
Al0neStillAlive None of these are elitist nitpicks because they harm the hunters more than the monsters! I'm a hammer user and there's NOTHING worse than some stupid bug staff tripping me while I try to KO the head. There's nothing worse than undergeared shit hunters either.
Niall Reid And weapons with a really strong or helpful sheathing attack, like DBs (lots of hits, lots of damage, lots of forward momentum, and then there's the fact that DBs sheathing animation is short enough to make walking towards the monster unsheathed slower than sheathing + sprinting to the monster). I know that X+A does the same, but the higher movement speed is pretty helpful if the monster just ran to the other side of the map.
By the way. If you fall in one of these ashaming and (hopefully) rare situations when you faint 3 times, there are some things I recommend to do. -Tell the team how sorry you are (you should be) as soon as possible. This is hard since they most probably are mad at you. -Use a gourmet ticket before anyone eats. You will serve your teammates a better meal. -If possible, set the quest again unless it was an urgent quest, specially if it was one of these quests that appear randomly. If you don't have it, then go reset you quest list. -Bring life powder, traps, light bombs and other support items. Give a hand to your teammates. And do your best. I think it's a productive way of telling your team you are sorry.
Agree, 100%. I think nearly every hunter has probably died 2 or 3 times in 1 run (It tends to happen to me against Rajang, Teostra, and S. Zin,,,), and yes, I agree with your points. Some more points for whoever reads this comment chain: - The worst thing to do is to die three times, then quit the gathering hall. By doing so, you've just wasted your and your teammates time and items. - If you've fainted two times, and you don't want to a third time, try not to be so aggro. Attack the monster, but not as fiercely as before. Try to help out by throwing flash bombs, and setting traps as well. Be safe, and make sure you're still contributing. - If you're having trouble against a certain monster with a certain weapon, try a different weapon. Ex: Even though CB is my fav and most-used weapon, I find myself doing better against Tigrex with SA instead.
I'm not using aggro to imply "agressive". I meant it as in "less reckless". For instance, if you were a Lancer, and you tried to hit the monster whenever you could, causing you to die twice (Lancers tend to get hit a lot), I'm quite sure it would be a good idea to be more careful. Hanging back when the monster is in rage mode, and set traps so you and your teammates can knock it out of rage mode. When I tell some people to be more careful, they just hang back and do nothing, and it pisses me off. My main point is that when someone is trying to be careful, make sure he's at least contributing.
***** I suppose there could be something worked out. If the monster's knocked down, that's always a good time to refresh a song though. Just be careful not to smack around the hammer bro if you're playing on the head.
Generally I agree. I usually play with the same few people so we know our roles and what areas to aim for pretty well. When my buddy uses a hammer, I let him go for the head. That being said tho, If he gets knocked away or is off healing or something and I have the opportunity to hit the head, I'll take it. I think as long as your not interrupting people, its ok. and I used to use SnS in a group of GS and LS users, so i know how frustrating interrupts can be lol!
I'm a DS user so I always go for the monsters legs. I don't know if that's where I'm supposed to be, but I have the feeling that I make monsters fall on their butt a lot P.S.: And then go get them Hammer bros! :D
It's even worse when they get pissed at YOU, saying you are the idiot in the situation. I post "any" as hunter and low ranks try to think I will get them all the way to g... KICK SPAM ACTIVATE
I don't care if i lose zenny, if you yell at me during a hunt you're dead. these games are to have fun and piss you off, dont yell at the people who may save your life. Or else they may do a little *kick*
Sure I do as well but asking really only works for gunners and you can't cut off parts, otherwise a message like 'let's break its head!' Is best not 'plz break head'
I know right, so i always set the sentence "let's break his .....!" Be cause i use ig, and i mount very often the monster, so when he falls i say "Let's Break his .....!!!"
An idea about online etiquette involving weapon usage for potential video. Just listing a few most common seen ones. - GS users should wait for opportunities to land full lvl3 charge slash combos on monsters during windows such as when monster is tripped by mounting.Instead of going full suicide by attacking at all times.( ppl without proper GS armor skills get carted a lot by attacking blindly) Pls do not spam X+A in a combo to ruin other players......unless u r certain u can launch a player so he/she can get a mount on the monster. - LS users should not interfere while Hammer users are trying to focus on head, or players with weapons that doesn't have super armor ability while attacking. (I am glad this video pointed that out....so annoying) -Hammer users.....pls be careful with your ground pound....as a GS user I got knocked flying a lot when monster was down from mounting and I try to land lvl 3 charges on head. (monsters like Diablos take very little impact dmg on head, so leave to the GS users to break the horn) Same apply for some Horn users though I appreciate their contributions to the team so I rarely complain. -THE MOST ANNOYING IMO. If you decide to be the IG user on the team, pls try to MOUNT the monster instead of just attacking after getting the buffs. When SAFE opportunity allows IG users should always try mount the monster. I went through games with IG users constantly attacking, w/o constantly attempting mounts. As a main IG and GS user I find this very annoying. 1) As an IG user I find this very unprofessional, since IG w/o trying mounting is just another LS as jump attk is IG's greatest privilege. 2) As a GS user I am not provided with the best opportunity to deliver massive dmg to the monster thus making the hunt for other teammates longer and more tedious. Nice vid and keep up the great work. Srry for the long text I mainly just wanna point them out since they annoy me.
DERPYPHYSCH No, IG users will try to output the most damage while having triple up. i always go full out constant attack while in triple up. 2min is very short and why would i wast my time trying to mount? i only mount during triple up when i just got or know that i will most likely get the mount. Other than that, i mount to get the remaining juice for triple up. Just cuz someone has an IG doesnt mean he has to mount, its a very strong and fast weapon
Some other tips: Sleep Bombing = everyone attack the monsters as soon as possible when it's asleep (even with weak weapons). It works since the monster just woke up and won't even know what's hitting him. Evade Lancing = constantly evade instead of guarding, don't even attack, just continue evading (it works since it confuses the monsters so your teammates will beat him up easily) Guard Lancing = same thing but with shielding. However make sure you have mega dash juices and guard skills, the monster will continue targeting you trying to take down your shield, but you won't ever flinch, making him an easy target for your teammates. Tripping = hunters are actually into S&M. Hitting them makes them trip, but also heals them, so tripping is a good strategy to keep your party alive! LS is the best support weapon in that regard so if you notice there's not one in your party keep going at them! (especially if there's some Lance players! They need the healing since they get hit a lot!) Carting = sometimes, especially when the monster is almost dead, you should get until your hunter faints. Two cats with a cart will come for you, but if you time it right, they'll crash against the monster dealing a ton of damage!
To an extent i disagree with the "dont ask people to break parts" rule. Dont SPAM them, but if you are a hammer/bow user and you need a tail, i can say from expreience, you basically NEED to ask randoms to cut the tail, or else they focus on the head and act like the tail doesnt exist. Its especially annoying when you are the one who made the room and thats the ENTIRE reason you made it was to get a tail.
sooo, your answer is to play a weapon that you dont enjoy or know how to play, make an ENTIRELY new set of armor (that you need tails for usually) so that you can use that weapon, Instead of making YOUR OWN room, and asking politely "please cut the tail, i need it" When the people who joined your room could have EASILY made THEIR OWN room, instead of wasting YOUR time. Right.
I actually had the inverse problem a few times; some monsters like Teostra are really hard to break the horns of, and using Teo as an example last night I fought about 3 and only broke the horns once when I hard focused on it the whole time. The tail though? It came off like it was paper. So yeah, ask, don't spam is a good guildline. And people are generally understanding if you're not a dick.
Phoenixaflame17 if you don't know how to cut a tail with a GS, you probably cant play G-Rank. they even say its easy to learn for beginners in the description. Again, Just because you are the room leader doesn't mean jack shit, they are joined to hunt a monster. The tail is your personal goal. If they need a tail too, dandy. If they need the horn, its on you to get a tail. You are the one wasting your own time by relying on others. And again, just because you are the room leader, you are not suddenly important.
+Lars Heijman What do you think of this set: Weapon: Waxglare Wand (Switch Axe) with Spirit Jwl 2 Helm: Reglos Helm X with Spirit Jwl 2 and Physique Jwl 1 Top: Star Knight Mail with Spirit Jwl 1 Arms: Regious Vambraces X with Spirit Jwl 1 Waist: Grand Divine Ire Obi with Spirit Jwl 2 Legs: White Fatalis Feet Talisman: Sage/Miracle with Edge Master +4
Sounds good... but why do you ask me this? Honed blade and challenger are pretty good about the set... constitution is nice and steady hand is mind's eye with razor sharp right? Yeah, pretty nice set
The "wuss" thing. ehhhh. I'd prefer a weaker player not get merc'd and kill the rewards, or cart 3 times and lose the quest. If they are running around, chances are they will kite the monster at some points, allowing the more competent players to get off some damage. So I can't really agree with you on that. Though, it wont work if the whole group is doing that.
Idk I too am on the side that if you’re not very good I prefer you still try rather than do nothing, that’s how you improve, I know I once snapped in a lobby because we failed 7 times in a row the level 136 teostra ( while I was able to beat it solo, although in 40+ minutes and with 2 carts ) and started being mean to everyone, they must’ve seen me as an asshole, and I regret I did that... But recently when playing GenU I was trying to kill a crimson fatty with randoms and we failed again like 7 times in a row, people would just leave whether they were the ones who died or they were mad at the others for dying. Except one guy, tbh he was pretty bad and a lot of the times was the one that carted the most, but he stuck through and kept trying, and it was cool when we finally succeeded... All that to say, let people suck, we are all there at some point, and not letting bad players participate will leave them at their level forever
Here's a handy piece of advice for people who need to sheath a lot. If you're near a ledge, sheath your weapon as you're going off of it as this will cut out a lot of frames and get you moving quick almost instantly. 😃
Regarding 'Don't constantly sheath': What if your weapon of choice doesn't allow for agility, such as Lances or GS? Just makes sense to me to sheath for the purpose of moving around after or away from the monster.
The difference is sheathing when the monster runs away from you and sheathing just because you don't know that dodging or blocking exists. Most large monsters actually don't move that far or often and can normally be reached with one or 2 dodges if you don't feel like walking. And as for crit draw, well you probably also have the faster sheath skill therefore you aren't losing nearly as much time. Basically he was saying don't sheath like an ass. Only do it when you need too or your build is made around it.
Pretty sure he knows and respects that, same as any other hunter with half a brain. If your weapon is extremely low mobility and the monster just went across the map, of course sheathe. Or if you are using a Crit Draw / Punish draw setup. Also a valid reason. He is more referring to people that are sheathed and milling around the monster rather than constantly hitting wherever possible.
Hahaha lance not allowing for agility, its the fastest moving weapon as long as you aren't just walking around, but anywho its obvious the sheath thing is more talking about when someone is pretending to play especially doing this with something like sword and shield...
Oh good I thought you actually went in and pissed off a ton of randoms in the making of this, but I guess not. Props to those guys for the help though. And props to making this video, because I was hoping to find a guide for online etiquette. really helps to just have something you can say "go watch this" and be done with it. As for the actual offenses themselves, I've luckily only done a small few, like the "not skipping the cutscene". And I just did it twice anyway. Though I've seen a few of these others, especially the "posting your own quests" thing. I'm actually kinda ticked off because I keep getting people who derail the room from the posted monster to hunt like a Rajang or Gold and Silver or their urgent or their key quests or what have you. Granted I've usually gone along with it and SOMETIMES I enjoy it, but a lot of the time it just ticks me off. And I don't wanna be rude and disconnect, yet I also want to put my foot down. Oh, and there are a few others like the tripping and the sleep bombing things that happen, although I forgive them for that as long as it's infrequent because that can take some learning, and sometimes accidents do happen. I know that my hammer's superpound has knocked away quite a few other hunters on accident, and I try not to but I'm not that good at it yet. Anyway, thanks so much for this. Much appreciated and all that.
I mostly agree with all though I think that about sheathing is supposed that special cases like GS those aren't included as it is part of the weapon gameplay. About fainting there are cases when if someone cooperates a lot but faints 2 times it may be better for it to stay in base so the quest doesn't fail, even more when the quest is about to end. I really would like to see a video about Etiquete for Pros and things they shouldn't do, mentioning things I experienced, without being at fault of anything like entering a room I was silver crown at the moment but I had around 900 def and resisted the monster element but either way got kicked and I didn't even do a quest with those guys before, that was an ass move by the room master there were plenty of player slots. Another one was a guy got carted twice but I had the bad luck of fainting in a situation that I couldn't literally do anything else as I was getting up from an attack that happened the instant I got up and a lifepowder could save me. After the quest fail I got kicked out instead of the other guy eventhough I rarely faint.
As DS user I actually sheathe a lot, I should get Punish Draw sometime... Ok seriously, I prefer to run around to the monster instead of walking towards it with my daggers drawn; and have my item (Lifepowder) or superman dive ready to use in case of trouble.
flamingokai I only attack with CqC arrows alone when using Bow but for dps I prefer throwing stones, just kidding. Seriously, Sometimes If my team has a hard time against 140 GQ instead of blaming them (when they're good players) I get combo books + stuff to make life powders ( max of 13). Sometimes you can't prepare it but even less if you are thrown against a wall as the monster tackles you specially Teostra which is too fast when running or a combo of Roar+Virus trap from Shagaru magara.
I sheathe a lot as a SA user because Sword mode has a painfully slow walk, and manually transforming to Axe mode is a waste of time. Plus it allows me to quickly run to a nearby ledge to do an aerial reload which is faster than other reloads. Of course, all of this changes as soon as you get an Evasion/Evade Extender set. At that point you can pretty much keep your weapon out forever and dodge roll everything.
i had that problem. i was trying to get bratch hammers from its arms and i keep on getting hit by pellet shots. pellet shots are for offline, not online
Drew Potvin There are almost no parts that you can only break with blunt weapons most stuff can be broken with a sword though it might take a few more hits then with a hammer. A hammer or other blunt weapon( there are hunting horns, shots as well as insect glaives that do blunt damage) can not cut a tail. So keep hammer guys up front to break heads and claws. Pellet shot has a pretty wide spread and it trips up melee fighters sure they can break stuff too but when you're playing online you should try to avoid knocking down the other players. Unless you are trying to do great sword and hammer launch mounts that can be pretty funny if you get it.
Thomas Davis well ya learn something new everyday. I never said bows couldn't cut, they do slashing damage I have seen a bower get tail cuts but it is a pretty rare occasion. As for the hunting horn the mechanics of the weapons have changed from game to game so much it's scary. Never really know what to expect from them. Though most would not expect a hunting horn user to be trying to get a tail cut. When I use a hunting horn rather then try to take the job of a LS or GS wielder, I give them buffs and stay out of their way. So sure they can do it. But it's rather uncommon. And it doesn't change where you stand while attacking a monster. Also I just said that HH was a weapon that did blunt damage. go back a read the comment. I simply gave examples of blunt weapons, I never said anything about the bow or even that a hunting horn could not cut the only thing I said that couldn't was a hammer and as far as that goes I have never seen that. I said some insect glaives as well yet you don't question that one and if your wondering look up mindstick.
Thomas Davis HH is a great weapon takes some getting use to though.I have found most HH users when they are good are really damn good. But I also believe every weapon has it's strong points. I think that the game has something to fit everyone and no weapon is better or worse then any other it just simply depends on the person using it and overall play style. Try all the things I say.
Another tip: Talk. Say Hi when you enter a room, talk with the people around. If they are worth spending time with they will be way more leniant with failiure and/or mistakes. I've seriously had way more fun losing vs a monster with a team that laughed their ass off afterwards than winning with a team that just entered the room, tripped me 20 times and left afterwards. A fun player will not be fun if the rest of the team is silent/toxic.
This This right there Exactly And in GenU it’s the worst it’s ever been, half of people don’t even say hi and a ton of them don’t even answer when you talk to them directly, like whatever it is you’re asking they just don’t say anything, and it’s hella *depressing*
Also, if a lobby specifies a Hunter Rank below G, DON'T BRING YOUR G RANK GEAR. I don't care if you're G Rank, as long as you use gear appropriate for the lobby. I want a fun hunt, not a cakewalk.
This, absolutely. As an aside; I'm seeing tons of HR4/5 hunters with low end (mostly incomplete) gear. They've caught the G-Rank tide and rode it into rewards and not skill. We should call then HR surfs, or maybe G-Spotters.
Man this video helped me out so much, I was so embarrassed when I realized I was just running around like a madman with incomplete sets gaijins videos honestly made me the player I am today, nothing but appreciate and gratitude for that man lmao
I hate when I try to refresh the quest by setting a gathering quest and EXPLAINING WHY I DO IT, and then the hunter leaves, fully assuming I set a Raging Brachy room to do some gathering.
The other day I joined a room that was farming zinogre, mainly doing an hr 5 zinogre quest, and I was hr 4 at the time. The host for some reason didn't like that I was doing a quest one rank above me even though my armor was almost a full zinogre s armor, only missing the gloves. He kept telling me to do quests that a "noob like me" shouldn't be hear. He said that he loved this game, and people like me disgust him. The other two guys in the room, both in g rank, started calling him out on that. The guy was swearing like a freaking sailor at us, and the three of us shared our guild cards, quit, and made our own room. I found this incident really odd, as everyone that I had played with before that had been pretty chill. Yes, there was the occasional person who did something you said not to, like whine or beg to do a certain quest, but at least I've never played with a guy so rude since.
Ending via subquest is OK, if the situation requires it. For example if something happens in RL and you just have to quit, or if you made an capture quest and no one brought own traps and the one from the basecamp was placed wrong by mistake. But one not-to-do thing you forgot about is hitting people who are carving at the end of the quest, because you dont need the materials or someone was leaving the area to heal or sharpen and came later when you have already finished. Especially with big elder dragons as Mohran or Fatalis where it is difficult to get all the carves in time this is one of the most unsocial things anyone could do...
+Darthplagueis13 i dont really know... but when you kick other Hunters midway trough the carve, they get the loot and can skip the "get-up"-animation. It should make carving quicker. I saw it successfully done in some Let's plays. But you need to know the timing...
It depends on the weapons. Heavy ones that can send you flying as greatsword, switchaxe, chargeblade or hammer ill certainly make carving slower since you have to go back to the carving spot. Normally carving time is always enough, except from maybe Dalamadur and Fatalis but even there it can be done. I´ve made the expierience that most people will fail the timing and stagger you right before you obtain the item...
I mean I don’t think that’s the advice this video needs, if people hit you while you’re carving ( and it’s not in good fun like with your friends and such ) then they’re always doing it maliciously, and know fully well that they’re pissing you off. Telling them that it’s annoying wouldn’t do anything, because they know it and that’s why they’re doing it
I think he meant that is annoying to see somebody draw the weapon and doing nothing. Sheathe the weapon is good if you hace attacked and need to run, recover, set a trap or make an attack that is better is it doed by unsheathing the weapon (sry for bad english tough hehe)
I think he meant like " you're unsheathing for nothing, from the start down to the last second of the quest " You can't help but to make an unsheathing attack to a monster especially if it is very fast, because you need to dodge and roll for your life, I think your team mates will understand especially if you will make charges throughout the game because there will always be an opening for charged attacks :)
The resupply meds+? i've personally never seen someone run back specifically for them but yes it is courtesy to leave it for someone who faints, If they did faint they probably take large hits and go through potions like crazy XD. (No i don't know this from experience....)
You should also leave whetstones for people like DB users who kill sharpness. Helps prevent the chance they forget to restock on whetstones or gives them some if they did forget
FerociousDiglett The average randy player's mentality is "nobody should need this because nobody should die." That and I'm pretty sure not a lot of the new players really get that it maxes out HP.
FerociousDiglett Yeah, I've seen some people get MAD AS FUCK over someone carting once, and usually it's "it can't be helped" sort-of situations where you just can't actively do anything to prevent your death. Besides that, everybody makes mistakes. Sometimes a lot of them. Sometimes less. But the occasional cart shouldn't matter.
I'm a G2-rank hunter (HR89), and I STILL see players in high-rank and G-rank lobbies doing all this crap! The problem is well-seasoned veterans are carrying the less-experienced players through low and high-rank quests by plowing through their key & urgent quests using G-rank armor & weaponry; and that eventually gives the anchor of the group the privilege to join the better lobbies to expect veteran players to carry their inexperienced ass to victory! For example, I did a 5-star quests with three HR5 players, who with all their mixed-armor sets combined would still equate to the Carnivore ability to one of them. One of the players got lost in the Sunken Hollow, and was never seen; and the other two triple-carted. It's a miracle they made it past HR3 the way they played! Capcom needs to implement a tutorial on how armor sets, abilities, and decorations mechanics work for Monster Hunter X. Also, if you're a veteran player, have a high and low-rank equipment set put aside in case you ever want to hunt with lower-rank players. That gives them more of a chance to be better at the game rather than a G1 player doing 90% of the work and allowing them to advance to higher ranks without doing their share of work.
+Simon Levenston that's true, but there are a lot of monsters in hr7 to hunt for armor to make you strong. I tried to go on that quest with my high rank Zamtrios armor; and I for bitched at by some 999hr player for "being so lazy on not grinding better monsters." In a case, he was a dick, but had a point that the armor was better. 😕
rn I'm grinding Arc set because it has Mind's Eye like my old Regios set so it can work with the Akantor CB (which has shitty sharpness) plus the armor looks badass.
I don't know how many times I've seen Sword of users hit face while I'm playing hammer, I either launched them into the air so they can do air slashes, or I just do a level 3 charge & simultaneously move them out of the way and stun the monster...
I know that there is a difference between begging and politely asking (and in your video, you were referring to begging) but is it really that bad to kindly ask someone to aim for a specific monster part? Multiple times I've gone online, hunted with random hunters to grind a specific monster and they needed a certain drop so they asked if we could aim for a specific body part and I always happily obliged. Breaking monster parts give you better probabilities for certain drops, so why not break the monster's parts and aim for the part that people kindly ask for? In regards to sleeping monster's I completely agree with what you said. But in practice, I've almost never found hunters who utilize the sleep status. Even the hunters with the sleep weapons will keep attacking after the monster goes to sleep...
Conor McDonald Of course it's fine to politely ask. One time, I needed 6 Gogma Offenders, so I needed to break the wings. I joined a hall. Waited for them to post the quest. Then asked, "Can you guys help me break the wings, I need them." They all obliged kindly, and the wings ended up breaking. I think Gaijin meant not to spam.
once and done should be fine. Unless it involves bombs. With our current community, you should probably have an inst-chat set up to warn people you're putting down a bomb before you actually do.
***** Is it a nerscylla weapon? Cos these are sooooo broken. Awesome sharpness, awesome affinity, awesome elemental stats, decent enough raw, Only downside is the lack of spots for decoration but still. They are retarded. Nerscylla Weapons are IMO the third most broken weapons in the game after Gores and Dahren (these are ridiculously OP IMO)
Conor McDonald To try and alleviate some hunter's pain, I like to announce to/remind people that I or somebody else has a sleep weapon and to bring bombs if they are able to. I check for that shit yo. I ain't gonna miss out on a ~5 minute reduction to a quest in free damage :D
Hello fellow hunters! Today I'm here to share a vital information to all the people who like to join Guild Quests, especially the apex ones(LVL 136+)(But I think it can help you in the entire game, so please, PLEASE, keep going). I'm here to discuss the importance of the canteen (or felyne food, as you wish). As I am noticing since I started the guild quest life, most people use the food combination just to get their HP and Stamina bar maxed out, totally forgeting (or they just do not know) the benefits of the food combination. I'm tired to see people getting "Felyne Firestarter" to a lvl140 apex deviljho. Seriously? Or people getting "Luck cat" to try to get better rewards (wth??? If you just finish that quest you will already get really great stuff..stop to be that selfish). The results are obvious: fail, fail, fail, fail...sigh. So, let's go: What are the useful food skills to those cases? Well, you can invest on Felyne Defender (Hi), for example, which will greatly reduce the damage taken in the entire quest, or, if you have a Defense honed weapon you can choose Felyne Moxie, which will prevent you from the death once (if you have more than 40% of the total amount of life). Anyway, that was just an example. I'm posting here a link, with all the food combinations and it respective descriptions, so please take some time to read and study it, because I can guatantee to all of you that it will make your hunts even better, not to you alone, but for your entire party. Monster Hunter is not just about take down a monster with brutal force. It is a Hunt. It envolves a lot of strategy. So stop to just copy the mixed sets that someone told you that would be great and try to actually understand what you are doing. Also, take a look on the monsters ailments, so you can choose a felyne food skill to boost your resistance (or nullify your element weakness), on single hunts, or to stack with your armor skill "guts" and your defense honed weapon, for example. I'm sure that all of this will make your dedication worth. Thanks for your time and your pacience. I'm sorry for all the english mistakes. You can correct me anytime. I live in a country who does not speak english as a native language. See ya guys! (monster hunter wikia)/wiki/MH4U:_Canteen
Well I pick Lucky Cat/Exchanger/Caravaneer when I'm confident we'll win... like when G-ranks farm some high rank stuff (unless it's High Rank Molten Tigrex, lel)
I think quitting if you get two carts is very beneficial: if you get one more cart, you lose all the potions, all the ammo, all the zenny paying for the above and more including meals, bombs and traps. Not to mention your prize money will be significantly reduced, making your profit not as good. But if you quit, you get all the items you used in the quest back, you can chat with your friends to work out a better strategy, switch out gear, bring better items, etc, and this time win with 0 carts and get a better reward. The only time I would discourage quitting after a second cart is if the monster is in the red: limping and going to its rest spot, because there's a low risk of getting a third cart, and you might as well make sure your time wasn't wasted.
+mega sean I can see that working, but only if your hunting with friends of similar mind, and only if you have means of communication other than the stupid chat box. Don't do it with randoms, they won't know why you quit and trying to convey a strategy through the chat is hell.
Mohow Always. Always Always Always!!!!!!! If they asked, "Can you help me next?" Say, "OF COURSE I WILL!!!" Ugh you have no idea, how many times. I helped people finish their urgent only for them to bail on me :(
Is it me or are there 20 times more Europeans than Americans playing 4u online? I'd be lucky to ever find someone that speaks english. I don't have a problem with them, they're mostly good players lol.
the only reason you need to run into another map while others are fighting the monster is if you need to heal, eat meat, or sharpen your weapon and don't want the monster to hit you while in mid animation
Okay everybody i want to discuss about not attacking mounted monster at 2:40. I think why the teammates attacking you while mounting because in their world ( POV) the mounting animation is finished but in your own world is not finnished so that's why they attacking it. Maybe internet connection is the problem what do you think guys?
Could you add that when doing a Morhan run, don't just use the gong when the monster isnt doing anything and will probably not be doing something for at least 1min and don't take the yellow binder is you don't plan on using balista or just don't know how to use it. I got the starting balista ammo stolen (most of them) and the yellow when i was on balista duty with my Artillery God set.
As a switch axe user I don't see what is so wrong with sheathing your weapon often, if the monster moves away from me I can get to it much faster by running instead of slowly hobbling up to him with my weapon out
One thing that pisses me off is when im doing like HR4 quests to get High Rank armour but then some G-rank hunter comes and I faint 2 times doing his HR6 quest and after the hunt he says im bad. Like, im HR4, i know im bad, calmeth the down.
Where's the option to kick people? Because the amount of people I've seen with mixed armour sets like head and gloves from rathalos, chest and legs from goa and waist from brachydios :/ 20 skill points into nothing. So annoying
Then they aren't competent at skill-aquisition, but they may yet be skilled at the hunt... If anything, those who rely on skills alone are the true nubs xP
Buttered Funnybiscuit True, it's possible that they may be skilled hunters. Generally though, those who have a random mixed set with zero skills don't know what they're doing because a competent hunter would take advantage of the opportunity to have skills on their armor.
@gaijin hunter 0:48. I remember this vaguely. I didn't kick you due to round robin, that or me and the other hunters were just to laid back. That and on occasion if I'm taking a break from grinding I don't mind giving some hunters a boost. The only thing I wouldn't have tolerated was a "total turns takeover" or if you just kept wasting all the carts seemingly on purpose. (had a few hunters like those in the past) But as long as your skill measures up and your polite I let a lot slide.
Subquest quit happened to me today vs g rank Elder dragon kasho? I can't remember it's name the wind one, I tried to finish it up cause it was limping failed, when i got back to elder hall I asked "why did they leave" he goes "Subquest, wasn't it obvious"... so naturally I called them out cause i was carrying them, who tries to use LS online at hr 111.... clearly they've just been carried to hr 111 being worried about a massive -15 hr points oh no. When I was sharpening my glaive they'd kick me n stuff too, next match I used hammer and just sent them flying the whole time until 3 cart, never thought "trolls" could get so mad.
huh, I thought great sword's whole thing was powerful draw attacks. why wouldn't you sheath it if that's one of the most powerful/effective things it can do? what, you expect the great sword user to slowly walk across the zone to the monster instead of sheath, run and chop off the tail?
Bruh you gotta read all the words in the comment lol. I said "Not getting any hits in" I can understand missing a lvl 3 charge here and there, but if you constantly miss it just doesn't contribute much to the fight.
But what if that guy is the cool hunting horn player that buffs everyone, stuns the monster and just overall carries the run with his pure, unfiltered badassery and skill, or that refined lance player that knows exactly what to do in every situation and never gets in the way of others but is always there when you need him? /\ I always strive to be that __| guy
You should also add on that everyone should bring Lifepowder. If they don't have the resources then they should farm at least one of each offline then put them in their Wyporium. There's hardly an excuse for not having Lifepowders at this point since they're so damn easy to make. EDIT: I will, however, agree that it is forgivable prior to High Rank. Lifepowder farming before then is pretty difficult.
I hate being the only one with lifepowders and dust of life and having to heal the ppl who don't follow this etiquette who are also dumb... 400 armor fools with blue sharpness on G3 teostra... ;-;
***** The only exception I would say to this is if a gunner needs to bring combines (and enough combo books to guarantee success) and won't have the space to bring lifepowder. If someone is using HBG and can get more of an elemental shot the monster is weak to, for example, I would prefer they bring that extra DPS even if they have to sacrifice space for utility items. Anyone with space should bring lifepowder, though. And dust of life if possible.
PenguinLord10 of course, gunners being the obvious exception in certain cases. One more thing to add, it should be proper etiquette to read what the lobby host wants before joining them. I'm a Gold Crown and I still need to farm High Rank Arena coins so I go online, post a lobby saying I need Arena Players. Every time I do this, my lobby fills with HR4 players who want to do Gravios or an event quest because I'm Gold Crown and can do it easily with my gear. It's already been said in this video to not pull that online, the whole "I need this, but don't want to make my own lobby for it" crap, so adding this to that sentiment would probably help improve proper etiquette for online behavior.
You might wanna point out that when it comes to the LS and glaive tripping issues, it's the lancers and the hammers who have the hardest time. I main both, and I've found that while the hammer can grant super armor with the sideways hit (as you've explained in the hammer guide), the lance really doesn't get that benefit. Countering off teammates works, but not often enough as your teammate strikes you from behind.
mushroom310 Yeah I play IG and Lance. When I use IG I try to position myself away from others so everyone can combo. I hate it when I play Lance and don't even get a chance to attack because my hunter can't get up!
in this game i had tons of people come into a room thats farming one monster and instantly pick their advanced or key quest that has nothing to do with the monster we are farming then just start begging to do the quest, most of the time people with dalamadur will do this
I tried hunting with random people once one person left at the first cart and the person with the highest hunter rank tried to capture a Teostra instead of hitting it with his GS... I haven't tried hunting with random sence
You forgot a really important thing I notice a lot: DO NOT CLOG UP SPOTS! If you are farming for something, know what you need. There's nothing more infuriating, than somebody who just hangs around the smith looking at weapons, decorations and then quitting after 5 minutes. If we had the knowledge you would leave, we could've kicked you and looked for another person. Don't just wait in the room and mind your own business, for the safety of "uh, I don't know if I already have enough materials, I'm just gonna start crafting, oh hey, finished my new armor, gonna put in decoration, oh wait, I have everything I need, oh, wait need to change the colours." Or people who join your guild quest room, notice your gq is only lvl 134 and do not bother leveling it those 2 levels... SOMEBODY has to level them >.
3:13 as DB User I accidently woke up some Monsters, because Kombolock (Ore Frenzy, I never can decide if its sleeping ore actuvating Frenzy). Its pretty annoying, and I appologice for it most of the time. But yea, its not exactly rude too use bad Armor, some folks are just not good in the Game. Battlequarter Teostra whit someone who had 250 Defense... I didnt checkt his armor first... 4:42 yes plz, I had enough of Dalamadur, Gog and white Fatalis. I allready see it enough, so plz scip!
With this surge in popularity, this mh has the most newcomers yet. There's a lot of vets that don't take kindly to greenhorns so I'd watch out. I've been playing mh since Freedom 1 and I hate to admit that I too get annoyed by the new guys. But remember, everyone has to start somewhere and for them this is the start. Make mh4u a better place and help teach these greenies how things work instead of kicking them out to go torment another room; that doesn't help much at all.
Lord Deviljho Very true. The more inviting the community, the easier it will be for people to spread and share MH. I want to see this game become even more popular in America.
Lord Deviljho Even as a fresh G3 hunter, I still go and join rooms labeled 'Noob' and try to help new players learn their weapon and earn new armor. I once remember helping somebody that wanted to try Hunting Horn, so I loaded up with my S.Zin HH and went hunting a few times with them. They then realized it wasn't their cup of tea, so I recommended hammer. They said they loved it's simplicity, and then I helped them get a set of Gore armor earlier and the materials to make a quick Fire Res jewel so they could learn bout skills and get some decent starting armor. I think I played with that guy, just the two of us, for like four hours... Good times. I like to put myself into the teacher role a lot. ^^
I understand about the wanting to skip the cutscene, but have you considered they may not have seen it and only want to see it firsthand and not on youtube?
Alexander Whapples If you want to watch the cutscene, go in solo or rewatch it later at the housekeeper. Else you're just wasting peoples time. Plenty of opportunities to watch it.
Alexander Whapples You don't have to be online to submit and start a Gathering Hall quest, you know? When you do this for the Dalamadur quest, the cutscene will play as normal. And again, if you've seen the cutscene even once, skipped or not, you can always rewatch it at the housekeeper.
Alexander Whapples "What if it's not available in solo?" well you still can go to your house and ask your housekeeper to play the cutscene again, unless you're some sort of glitchy hobbo that didn't make it to the caravaneer's team I guess :l
I'm just curious if this would be considered rude. I joined a room for Teostra farming and I happened to prep for the quest a little late cause I was arranging my box. Now, this wasn't the urgent Teostra quest in the battlegrounds, so I asked the guys if they wanted to do the Guild Quest for Teostra I had which could give us better things like distorted charms. I was rejected, but the guys were nice saying we could do it afterwards. Was that rude on my part to ask them to leave the quest when they were still in the Elder Hall and hadn't headed for the quest?
I once had a G rank Hunter join my High rank party and she/he was the most polite stranger I have encountered on an online game yet. All that patient monster farming really makes people see the game in a different light.
starfcy One thing that gripes me is people who DO NO'T read the guild hall description like. "Elder Hall, G-Rank, Azure Rathalos, Need Rare Materials" Random Hunter joins and goes "Hai gais where goin do my Chaos Magala kay?" or some other monster that they want or key quest, same as what Gaijin said but if your hall is made for a specific thing and they do that it's slightly more annoying.
I had one guy come in to my hall, I told everyone the plan was to clear all the low rank and high rank quests. We do a couple of quests and then he runs up, grabs a quest he wants and says ''we've done loads of your quests, now we do this one''. Having none of that, kicked his ass straight out.
Heres a good example of how not to act on mh4u. So i was in a room with 2 friends and we're all low rank trying to grind gore magala for armor and this g rank named hector joins. He accepts the quest and eats a meal, stands up, and just stands still. so i emote greet to see if he afked or not and 15 seconds later he runs to the quest start ands says "is he stupid or something" my response was to knock him off his mount when the monster was 2 hits from death and he says "its official you suck" and tries to hammer launch me to keep me from carving which he fails at. After that hunt he left a bad taste in me and my friends mouth so we decided to stop hunting that day. DO NOT be a hector.
+I A G O oh wow look who's here.. trying to justify the fairness of being F ing 'Hacker'.. other people try their very best and put so many hours to hunt a damn monster and make a bloody set.. while you A holes just using power save and 'manipulate' our 'time' and 'effort'... you don't even deserve the spot for this game. We just don't hunt monsters for loots or any other stuffs...we cherish our improvements for ourselves and we seek 'unity' as 'hunters'.. and you so called 'fair user of power save hackers' do not have those.. shame on yourselves.. shame on your pride for how selfish you can be by telling these hunters 'being hector(hacker) can be fun'...
lJlPhantom lol, I was making an FE7 reference. I don't use hax (2 ez 4 me), nor do I plan on it, and I got to G Gold a while back ago. Shake that salt more. Hackers, whether we like them or not are here to stay. (a friend of mine has done hacked quests and has fucking rare G Special stuff like Conquest Spheres and White Fatalis stuff and he's only G1)
I A G O you just made a proved fact that you admitted yourself to be one of them..and the whole reason why I was saying is that your ignorance of how selfish you can be is stupid enough to tell every hunters that you don't even care about this game... sure you might get the loots..sure you achieved something.. but that's it.. you still got nothing to prove... you might defend your friends and yourself who's hacking in this game and other games as well... and you still see nothing... you're just a little frog trapped inside a little pond thinking that it's your whole world..foolish one.
When your in a party, (Leader or not), and you end via subquest, does it end for everyone? or just you? Also me and my few friends always had a rule for getting 2 carts. Some monsters i'd be really good at fighting while another wouldn't, so if for example the same person got 2 carts, we would tell them to either stay in another area away, or play 99% defensive while the more adept player(s) would continue fighting. I doubt this would happen online but we were friends playing locally so carrying or "thieving?" (leeching) whatever you want to call it wasnt an issue.
End via subquest only counts for you. However if you end a hunt-a-thon quest by submitting the ticket, it ends for everybody. Got kicked learning the hard way :s
TheKingSwamper Yeah, once I was leveling up my Shagaru GQ and I parad Shaggy, as I use Gobul SnS, and this idiot sets up a trap, because he thinks I shock trapped him. Like WTF m8
Lol i'll tell you guys something. I was looking for a room to farm kusha parts and then we went hunting (g3). This guy (leader of the room) set up traps trying to cap the Kusha and after the hunt ended.. I said: You cant cap elders.. Leader: yes i can, i pro I just laughed.
My personal hate is when you want to farm a monster (let's say G rank Teostra) and even though you have a high defense and (in my opinion) are very skilled at the game, people boot you for no legitimate reason other than the fact that I'm still bronze crown. Side note: if anyone wants to farm any monster with me just say.
There's this group of people who have been going around online called the "Ruiner Mafia" and their only purpose is to join random rooms and harass players with a HBG. They're the reason I can't trust really high ranked G Rank players.
One thing I've discovered, though, is that if tripped by an upwards attack, that can help get mounts. only annoying part is telling people in lobbies that every time you join a new one and/or a new person joins the current lobby.
I may be super late here. But to any new online players, If you have a Gunner in your Party. Please pay attention to where they are. You can body block their shots, flinching you and wasting their ammo. And for Gunners, pay attention to where your group is. Crag and Cluster shots can knock them backward. If you are going to bomb-shot. Aim high on the part and carefully when the monster is down.
Jared Juarez Think that's bad? I double carted to a high rank Dah'ren Mohran last night. No excuse for that other than me being bad. There's always someone worse than you, you should feel good about yourself.
Jared Juarez Well your performance was terrible if you died twice but it does happen and don't let it get to you. Sometimes shit happens and people cart. I usually never die to Gog but just yesterday he had me in a corner and laid me out with a combo. Just keep your head up and keep swinging. That guy probably had a hemorrhoid bothering him and you helped out by being an outlet :)
gaijin hunter Same. It was the Event Akantor. Thing was, it literally only aggro'd off me a grand total of three times. The entire time was pretty much me running and cursing out Akantor. XD
I know LS can trip people. But, I'm sorry, but as a (mainly) LS user, I have been flinched, tripped, blasted or thrown across the screen by *literally every other weapon* in the game (bar maybe Dual Blades) at some point, and this happens on a regular basis, *all the time* (even when I try to avoid the person entirely). And yet, people act like LS is the worst tripper/interrupter. At first, I was *extremely* courteous with my LS, but frankly, I no longer care. I still try my best not to be a nuisance when LSing, but if you get hit, tough shit. I'm not going to not gain meter because you might get flinched by spirit combos or fade slashes, while its perfectly okay for you to launch me across the screen with your hammer upswing, GS backswing, Lance sprint charge (beacuse that's a smart move to use with people in front of you who are clearly preocupied) GL Wyvern's Fire or CB super/ultra charge, or flinch me with your rapid fire Bowgun pellets for half the fight. Also, there is a new tripmaster in town - the Insect Glaive. I was tripped 4 times consecutively in 4 seconds by some moron who twirled it right in my face. And this happens a lot if its not a user that's doing something useful like vaulting instead of running right into me and a-swish-swish-swishing. I don't mean to sound bitter, but it's infuriating that everywhere I go outside the actual game, many MonHun fans seem to treat LSers with an extra-large doseage of disdain, when they themselves are all just as bad.
I think its beause LS has the most trip moves. I've been using it lately and noticed the range is huge and not precise. Doesn't feel to me like a weapon for cutting tail or breaking head.
Aaron K. I honestly find Insect Glave users to be the worst trippers in the game anyway. LS users have a very good reason to want to get in there and get their attacks in at least, IG could easily not trip people if they gave a damn.
tripping is annoying with LS i understand but those goddamned swith axe users and their infinite pressing of the A button and that finisher just sends me flying
if a player is conscious enough and does their best to not be a huge hassle most people don't really care. players that bitch every time they get nicked by another player are far more annoying than those they're getting hit by. it's not like you're taking damage, fkn deal with it. the video example was extreme, though, and would be annoying as shit.
gaijin hunter Could you could say something about being specific on gong or ballista first in a Dah'ren Morhan quest in your part 2 video? I remember in 3U I was fighting Jhen with these 3 random guys. I asked if we hit gong first or ballista first. One said gong the other said ballista so as I hit the gong the other guy hit the ballista. Then the leader got pissed at me even though they didn't make it clear. We argued the entire battle, I'm surprised neither of us were carted.
*My Standing on Long Sword users.* As a Long Sword user, I try my best to stay out of other people's way, it's not exactly easy, and yes, I do occasionally trip when someone runs up, but to be fair, the monster isn't exactly going to not notice me hacking away at it's tail/legs/whatever, and we must realize that people do move around while fighting. If I see the Hammer/Charge Blade/Great Sword coming up, I will try to get out of his/her way. It is frustrating being tripped while attacking. An occasional trip is expected, because sometimes it just can't be avoided. If it gets stupidly common, I get a bit annoyed with the tripper, then if I can determine if the person tripping has no idea what they're doing, I will first ask if they are new to the weapon, if they are, I will share some advice, if not, then I promptly express my annoyance. (I've been using the LS since MH3U, I know how to use it, but I do not claim to be a professional, please, if you better Long Sword users have any advice, share it with me please.) *SUMMARY:* 1. Tails, Legs, Ears, and Underside(Some Exceptions here) are your targets, Long Sword. 2. Stay out of the Charge Blade's, Great Sword's, and Hammer's Way. 3. Don't aim for heads unless you *ABSOLUTELY CANNOT HELP IT*, and even then, apply point 2 First. *My standing on Mounting:* Yes, if someone mounts, don't attack it. Set up bombs, traps, heal your ass, sharpen your blade/reload your gun/play your horn on the air/whatever it is you do. It is annoying getting knocked off of a mount because someone flinched it. Personally, I will make exceptions for Pierce LV3. Chances are that the Pierce LV3 will do much more damage than myself, I will also make exceptions for Kinsect attacks, because they rely on it to be effective outside of Vaulting. (Which is already pointless because I'm already mounted at the moment, so it's just another attack.) *My standing on: Carting* We all cart. It happens. Hell, I've triple carted before because I was underpowered, It sucks, I know. Even worse is apologizing to the team you just screwed over. If you do triple cart, then you should at least say you're sorry. If possible, unless the quest is an Urgent, or an Episodic Quest, you should pay for the next quest, and for bonus, use a Voucher to make sure everyone gets the point. If you cannot pay for the quest, use the Voucher, I like to try to do both, or at least the Voucher. I don't play G-Rank yet, so I can't say how it feels to screw up there, but the feeling should be the same, if not worse than Low/High Rank questing, mostly because A: You are no longer considered a beginner hunter by about G3 quests. B: A lot of G-Rank Hunters take hunts seriously (Who wouldn't with stats that good. and C: You shouldn't have to triple cart. Once or Twice I can understand. Don't rip someone a new one because they cart, I'm pretty damn sure you've carted too. (I wanna see someone do a No-Cart play through of every village quest, so they actually can't die, (Rules being if you completed every quest in a category, you could have 1 extra life. If you manage to do this, then you can go for bonus and attempt the Online Quests, and for here, each rank completed is 1 life. At G-Rank, each rank completed is 2 lives. You also cannot use Multiplayer Hunting unless you challenge it with one other person.)) *My standing on: Leaving* If you die twice really fast, go ahead and leave, you're out of your league, but if you manage to survive quite some time before carting, PLEASE stick around for the remainder of the quest. Chances are, the monster is almost dead anyways. If you die twice and aren't sure if you won't die again, and the sub-quest is finished, take it and go, the rewards for main are better(Granted, I'm a bit annoyed that only 1/3 of the reward Zenny is left, plus the cut you forfeited is gone, so it's more like 1/6 1/9, 1/12, depending on the hunter count.) *My standing on: Stamina Usage* I must also add that people PLEASE keep their stamina up, Nothing saddens me more than watching a fellow hunter run tiredly around when the monster is in the area. It's annoying watching the monster go over to bully the tired hunter into carting. If you are running out of stamina, find and kill something that has Raw Meat, bring your spit (I never leave base without my BBQ Spit), and cook in the other area. I'd rather you spend 10-20 seconds cooking your meat than carting because you insisted on going ham on the monster. If you have Dash Juice, USE IT. Save your energy drinks for when you get the sleep status, if the monster can deal it out. If you can't do that, dawdle around out of the way long enough for your stamina to return. As the intro loading screen says: "All play and no rest makes for a dull hunter, nya!" (Never thought that I'd use the don't play all the time warning to prove an in-game point/tip from experience.) *Closing Statement* We all must realize none of this actually matters if your team is flat out not effective or doesn't get along very well (Experience proves that if your team doesn't get along, you're more than likely not gonna win.)
one day, a person fainted 3 times that wasn't me. I was attacking and trying hard. Then the guy said I had no skills and kicked me. Blamed everything on me. That was my first person on my ignore list.
I was fighting a Redhelm in MHGen get parts right? After I fainted once in the quest (2nd cart) two of the hunters did they're Thanks call.. It's obvious they where doing it out of spite & then abandoned the quest.. The Room owner was a rude bitch too.. Acting high & mighty when she was the same rank as me.
I'm going to throw down my own tip based on personal experience. It's really obvious but people do it all the time anyway. Ahem. DONT GET IN THE GREATSWORD/ HAMMER USERS WAY! This bugs the hell out of me so much. In so many games I have played, the hammer player has been knocked on his ass because that dual blade player just HAD to get his hits in on that head. Or some idiot tripping a Great Sword user who is charging his weapon. They both have obvious tells to their attacks and have a specific job to do. You are not going to do it better than them. Get out of their way. I don't play either (I main lance) but its something I notice a lot.
You never get in the way of the GS user, not for their sake, but for your own. If you don't care about hitting the GS user, the GS user won't care about hitting you, and when GS users stop caring about hitting you.. you learn how birds feel about windmills.
I'm so annoyed too by this. Goddammit, leave me the head! Now I don't care anymore, if anyone is still hitting it when the monster is down for the second time, I send them flying, too bad. Jeez.
Honestly good tip. I use daul blades so if there are people on my team using hammer or longsword I do this thing where I just attack from under the monster. Suprisingly effective.
The one caveat I'd like to mention regarding incomplete sets is to make sure to check their skills first. It's entirely possible (and in fact quite likely) that someone may be bringing pieces from multiple sets to min/max. At least I know this was the case in MHFU (many of the best end game builds did this, GS using some rajang pieces for the unsheath crit, for example.). I'm not familiar enough with the armor in 4U yet to know if this is still as likely, and the addition of charms in the previous generation does open your options up greatly.
I just came back from a Shagaru Magala farm in which two of my party members quit after the second cart. One of them even did it everytime there was a second cart. The worst part is that everytime they quit, we still completed the mission, albeit more slowly (I thought they wanted those broken wings, but apparently not). As someone who was using HH at the time, it was very annoying and it feels like I shouldn't have been providing buffs.
In G rank quests, bring along max potions in case you die or for those emergency situations. Dying is ok, but if you die again because you didn't have enough hp to survive a hit anymore, that just annoys everyone. Making max potions is easier than any game in the past. It's super cheap and very useful. No reason to not bring them.
OTAKUMAN884 Mega nutrients + dragon toadstool. All the materials are easily acquired from the Wycoon. I've been on many runs where a player dies a second time or even triple carts because after they die the first time they keep their hp at around 80-90 because their max has dropped to 100 and they don't have the defense to survive the heavier hits when their hp is that low. I also recommend filling in the gaps in your crafting list.
+Chad .Steeves , ok, thanks a lot, I've been doing more stuff and found solutions. Still trying to farm for drops though, that stuff takes a lot of caravan points haha
OTAKUMAN884 a stack of ten days for each of those gives you enough to last for a quite a while. It's possible to make your max potions last a long time.
Chad .Steeves Holy fuck thank you! I'm at HR 5 and I'm still using mega potions. I knew there was something better but didn't know how to craft it. Also do you know how to make Healing Horns?
Another disagreement. Dude, if two carts happen way too quickly into the hunt, I'm going to quit. I'm not wasting any items on a hunt that's going to end up in failure. It's not about "dying while trying". It's about not wasting your shit.
I'm new at going online, I usually go by myself and my cats (offline since MHFU), at other times, me and my boyfriend, honestly, I didn't know anything about these etiquette, but I'm happy to know that I'm a good fellow hunter, I do these things (good manners) if I don't know anyone in the room, I simply think that I need to be a good team mate, if I could support them (blow horns or kick them while stunned if I could and be in sync with their trap/bomb setting) while I smash/slice the monster's head, I'll do it. Thanks Gaijin Hunter :)
actually it is advised you attack a monster that is mounted. it fills the mount gague quicker so it is easier to topple. it is a gamble because of the flinch, but it is still better to keep attacking
I find the no constant sheathing part to be wrong. What if the monster is constantly moving and is far away? What if you need to do a Superman Dive? So just slowly jog/walk around with your unsheathed weapon most of the time, instead of sheathing weapons to sprint towards the far-away monster? Imagine the whole team doing that. How much will they accomplish doing that?
the amount of times i've been in a hall with my friends and random people have showed up begging us to do ukanlos urgent as we are all g rank is ridiculous... hope people pay attention to this, love your vids btw and your tutorials helped me branch out my weapon choices, keep up the good work and happy hunting! :)
You should also see the hall description and see if they have a specific monster in mind before you post the quest. It gets really annoying if your hall is listed as zinogre, but everyone comes posting the urgent quest
The most annoying thing online is that you wait like 5-10 minutes with a party of 3 and as soon as the quest starts someone joins.
Tell me about it...
@Peter you posted 4 weeks ago, you mean people still play MH4U???
@Peter that makes sense. Mh4u has that actual skill level with the different weapons, versus Gen you can do flips and shit with so many of the different weapons and I prefer the Mh4u game bc of that
@@midnightracerplayz sweet I just got MH4U this week! Glad to hear online is still going
@@DOSPenguin nice bro, I still gotta get a 3ds and get the game
The tip about "don't quit after 2nd cart" is good. I was online with 2 other people and we were fighting a virus Tetsucabra and Zamtrios and they both left me after the second card. I kid you not did I power through that thing and completed the quest my damn self. At the end all I had was a dung bomb and like 7 paintballs, but I made it.
Congrats m8 I've been there too many time myself but you gotta stick it out!
damn straight!!
great job.. you've made it^_^.
As someone who has terrible internet, I wonder how many of those disconnects were actually kicks...
samr
I mean its kinda so that so if the person rejoins he cant ask you why you kicked him.
pretty much all of them.
Well now that you watched this video hopefully none of them will be kicks from now on
Brayden Schwartz haha not likely
Just a heads up for all you new hunters watching this video. The tip at 2:36 about not attacking monsters when someone else has mounted it doesn't apply in MHGenerations. In Generations you can safely attack a mounted monster without interfering with the mount process. In fact it's encouraged that you do attack it while it's mounted as you can help the meter fill up faster.
Bobbytpt It is discouraged if you can’t attack the monster without losing sharpness, or if you’re going to get hit while attacking because you don’t do HP damage just mount damage.
i know a guy that goes on lv140 guild quest wearing nothing but a jaggi S armor. We call him Mr. Jaggi
+Should we Play? Does he survive?
yes, he's very skilled.
That's badass.
+Sand Katze Lots of training on the monsters and reading their abilities and when to dodge using weapons fit for certain monsters makes you a skilled hunter... just dodge enough... play alone and figure it out, or play the previous monster hunter games and build your skill... lots of hours worth it...
Heinro Henderson
I know, I've been playing solo all the time.
I guess they take after the gym leader when they don't get their way.
diortem emirp As much as I love Whitney, that made me laugh. xD
I have 2 shoutout one with "THIS IS MY PERFECT FORM!!!" and the other with "Stupid Boy" I allways use when Zamtrios goes into fat mode, the first when he transforms and the second sometimes during battle
quotes taken from omegaevolution/octaneblue videos... also BROOKLIN!!!
Goomjob he must be pretty bad for you to deliberately contradict yourself xD
As a GS user, I'm offended by the no constant sheathing statement...
***** Yeah I don't think he meant us slow moving GSers
so SA users are no exceptions? I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THIS!
Kizuki Narida exactly we move pretty slow too
Alexander Wloka I'm an insect glaive user and I sheath when I need high vintage points since I like keeping an eye on a monster and check it's movements when I know how it moves I dive right in and only sheath for sharpening and healing, also climb to jump and mount since I have no L&R so no pole vaulting or kinsect using for me. :(
Can they just install this video into the game and force everyone to watch it before they enter multi-player for the first time?
If only XD
Eshy everyone's a beginner at some stage
Eshy If new players had to watch this they wouldn't want to start playing the game at all in the first place. Given that most of these were elitist nitpicks.
Al0neStillAlive None of these are elitist nitpicks because they harm the hunters more than the monsters! I'm a hammer user and there's NOTHING worse than some stupid bug staff tripping me while I try to KO the head. There's nothing worse than undergeared shit hunters either.
Robin Hall Well I obviously don't disagree with all of them, getting tripped is the most annoying thing ever for sure.
5:55 ADDENDUM: If you are a hammer or a greatsword user, this kind of behavior is absolutely acceptable and expected.
Dr. Fun And gunlance.
And Lance at times as well.
I know what he is getting at with that advice but I think he could have phrased it a bit better.
Not Hammer! That thing is *insert green hill theme*
Some more points for whoever reads this comment chain:
- The worst thing to do is to die three times, then quit the gathering hall.
My main point is that when someone is trying to be careful, make sure he's at least contributing.
lol the gourmet ticket made me laugh
Mark Arias well, gourmet voucher. English isn't my 1st language xD
Ranzord95 I think he meant the idea of doing that for a lobby as an apology. I've never thought of that before so I also got a kick out of it.
Lol, one time fool had -40 fire resistance and wanted to fight Akantor
He want a HARDCORE expirience XD
The World 😂
Yes but any fire attack from him with -40 is a bad day!
@@SaionjiWorld did you just reply, on your own 5 year old comment? I'm astonished, I thought you'd be past monster hunter by now
Hell nah, hunter for life!
Rule #1 of playing with a Hammerer:
The head is theirs, with limited exceptions.
hunting horn users also want the head but i never can superslam cause everyone is on the head :S
*****
I suppose there could be something worked out.
David Coutts
I have to sympathize with that last point.
When using SnS, I end up getting tripped a lot.
I'm a DS user so I always go for the monsters legs. I don't know if that's where I'm supposed to be, but I have the feeling that I make monsters fall on their butt a lot
P.S.: And then go get them Hammer bros! :D
Every time someone I don't know joins my room and IMMEDIATELY puts up a quest a part of me dies.
It's even worse when they get pissed at YOU, saying you are the idiot in the situation. I post "any" as hunter and low ranks try to think I will get them all the way to g... KICK SPAM ACTIVATE
OTAKUMAN884 Whats even better is to hunt akantor and push them into the oath of a roar. multiple times! (*EVIL LAUGH*)
+Th Rei , LMAO HAHAHA going to do that now xD
I don't care if i lose zenny, if you yell at me during a hunt you're dead. these games are to have fun and piss you off, dont yell at the people who may save your life. Or else they may do a little *kick*
number1bacon me too bro......me too.......
I never beg, but, if i need a part of the monster, of course i ask: please can you help me breaking this part?
Sure I do as well but asking really only works for gunners and you can't cut off parts, otherwise a message like 'let's break its head!' Is best not 'plz break head'
I know right, so i always set the sentence "let's break his .....!" Be cause i use ig, and i mount very often the monster, so when he falls i say "Let's Break his .....!!!"
gaijin hunter Only? yeah i have my hammer let me cut his tail
(I am glad this video pointed that out....so annoying)
-Hammer users.....pls be careful with your ground pound....as a GS user I got knocked flying a lot when monster was down from mounting and I try to land lvl 3 charges on head.
Some other tips:
Sleep Bombing = everyone attack the monsters as soon as possible when it's asleep (even with weak weapons). It works since the monster just woke up and won't even know what's hitting him.
Evade Lancing = constantly evade instead of guarding, don't even attack, just continue evading (it works since it confuses the monsters so your teammates will beat him up easily)
Guard Lancing = same thing but with shielding.
They need the healing since they get hit a lot!)
Carting = sometimes, especially when the monster is almost dead, you should get until your hunter faints. Two cats with a cart will come for you, but if you time it right, they'll crash against the monster dealing a ton of damage!
Oh you.
***** tbh I expected the video to be something like that since it's April Fools, but maybe it's already over in Japan
Nincalamako Just to make sure, please for the love of god no one take what this guy is saying seriously.
Lennon1398 Lennon!?
is it you?

Blood Yagami Yeh it's me whatup. What's your ingame name?
The not skipping intro happens to me 99% of the time when fighting Dalmadur.
Ikr it's so fucking irritating
crimsonskydeath yeah me too I mean I can solo it now and it still pissed me off when ppl do that because of how much of an ass ppl can be 😎
when i did it for my first time, i couldnt skip it...
Probably want to make a gs or Ls set bud. They joined your room for their own reasons, ur not entitled to jack shit.
sooo, your answer is to play a weapon that you dont enjoy or know how to play, make an ENTIRELY new set of armor (that you need tails for usually) so that you can use that weapon, Instead of making YOUR OWN room, and asking politely "please cut the tail, i need it" When the people who joined your room could have EASILY made THEIR OWN room, instead of wasting YOUR time. Right.
I agree and I should have used the word spam that is what I was trying to convey
And again, just because you are the room leader, you are not suddenly important.
ugh... i once saw a nice mixed set from someone else... 10 slots, and the only skill he had was auto guard from the talisman... as a ls user
+Lars Heijman dude, i've seen people with full lr jaggi set at g rank xD
+Lars Heijman What do you think of this set:
Weapon: Waxglare Wand (Switch Axe) with Spirit Jwl 2
Helm: Reglos Helm X with Spirit Jwl 2 and Physique Jwl 1
Top: Star Knight Mail with Spirit Jwl 1
Arms: Regious Vambraces X with Spirit Jwl 1
Waist: Grand Divine Ire Obi with Spirit Jwl 2
Legs: White Fatalis Feet
Talisman: Sage/Miracle with Edge Master +4
What are the skills?
Lars Heijman Challenger +2
Constitution +1
Steady Hand
Honed Blade
Sounds good... but why do you ask me this? Honed blade and challenger are pretty good about the set... constitution is nice and steady hand is mind's eye with razor sharp right? Yeah, pretty nice set
The "wuss" thing. ehhhh. I'd prefer a weaker player not get merc'd and kill the rewards, or cart 3 times and lose the quest. If they are running around, chances are they will kite the monster at some points, allowing the more competent players to get off some damage. So I can't really agree with you on that. Though, it wont work if the whole group is doing that.
I'm disappointed he didn't make the comment "if you want to do that, grab a bow."
The old cat technique
@@lightbrand_ exactly.
Something like this should come as a non skip tutorial before the online play.
Yeah, like once you begin online, this clip should be shown.
Should start off with "For all of you who haven't gotten to caravan 4 and lvl 2 canteen, TURN THE FCK AROUND. Now, onto your feature presentation..."
Here's a handy piece of advice for people who need to sheath a lot. If you're near a ledge, sheath your weapon as you're going off of it as this will cut out a lot of frames and get you moving quick almost instantly. 😃
Sweet thanks ^^
I get kicked Everytime I enter a room cause no one knows how to edit their room name, star requirements restrictions and etc >:T
Regarding 'Don't constantly sheath': What if your weapon of choice doesn't allow for agility, such as Lances or GS? Just makes sense to me to sheath for the purpose of moving around after or away from the monster.
yeah what about those using CritDraw?
Yeah that is more iffy for a point in this video. It all depends really.
5 years later and this video is still relevant to even the current games
Ok seriously, I prefer to run around to the monster instead of walking towards it with my daggers drawn; and have my item (Lifepowder) or superman dive ready to use in case of trouble.
flamingokai Same here, unless I'm using Hammer, Lance or HH with speed movement boost then I'd rather just sheathe, better safe than sorry.
flamingokai I only attack with CqC arrows alone when using Bow but for dps I prefer throwing stones, just kidding.
***** Good to know that others use the SA like a GS...thought I was the only one XD
Hammer up front, long sword and greatsword in back, duel swords, and shield users right under, gunner far away and please no one have pellet shot.
i had that problem. i was trying to get bratch hammers from its arms and i keep on getting hit by pellet shots. pellet shots are for offline, not online
fatzach09 don't they break monster parts broken by blunt attacks?
Drew Potvin
There are almost no parts that you can only break with blunt weapons most stuff can be broken with a sword though it might take a few more hits then with a hammer.
Thomas Davis
well ya learn something new everyday.
Thomas Davis
HH is a great weapon takes some getting use to though.I have found most HH users when they are good are really damn good. But I also believe every weapon has it's strong points. I think that the game has something to fit everyone and no weapon is better or worse then any other it just simply depends on the person using it and overall play style. Try all the things I say.
Another tip:
Talk.
This
This right there
Exactly
And in GenU it’s the worst it’s ever been, half of people don’t even say hi and a ton of them don’t even answer when you talk to them directly, like whatever it is you’re asking they just don’t say anything, and it’s hella *depressing*
Probably they don't speak english, but saying hi or hello as a basic word of english language isn't going to kill them.
Also, if a lobby specifies a Hunter Rank below G, DON'T BRING YOUR G RANK GEAR. I don't care if you're G Rank, as long as you use gear appropriate for the lobby. I want a fun hunt, not a cakewalk.
eh? but... i die with my g-rank armor against a friggin rathalos sometimes at low/high weird that i can do that fucker at g-rank difficulty xD
Shadk The armor is more or less acceptable. The weapons need to be swapped out. Early High rank monsters die in a few seconds flat to G-Rank weapons.
This, absolutely.
As an aside; I'm seeing tons of HR4/5 hunters with low end (mostly incomplete) gear. They've caught the G-Rank tide and rode it into rewards and not skill. We should call then HR surfs, or maybe G-Spotters.
+Robert Blanchard so why do people always complain about the difference bewteen g rank and normal armour?
Lars Heijman The effects, I guess? Or just the advantages against Low/High Rank monsters.
*do quests that a "noob like me" can handle, and that I shouldn't be here
Pardon my grammar
Gaijin with the coming of rise please make an updated guide for new players
Telling them that it’s annoying wouldn’t do anything, because they know it and that’s why they’re doing it
This is my first time really playing Monster Hunter in an online environment. I thought 99% of these were common sense.
Same for me, but you know... there are these people... and they are who this video is geared towards
What if you constant sheath a Greatsword so you can get that running charge?
I think he meant that is annoying to see somebody draw the weapon and doing nothing. Sheathe the weapon is good if you hace attacked and need to run, recover, set a trap or make an attack that is better is it doed by unsheathing the weapon (sry for bad english tough hehe)
+shadowabiss well if you have critical draw for GS
also unless pulling special unsheating move with sns, you can block and use/set items without sheathing^^ awesome if you have lifepowders to use.
How about leaving EZ Max potions in the supply box at the tower in case people cart? Is that common courtesy? Should it be?
The resupply meds+? i've personally never seen someone run back specifically for them but yes it is courtesy to leave it for someone who faints, If they did faint they probably take large hits and go through potions like crazy XD. (No i don't know this from experience....)
You should also leave whetstones for people like DB users who kill sharpness. Helps prevent the chance they forget to restock on whetstones or gives them some if they did forget
FerociousDiglett The average randy player's mentality is "nobody should need this because nobody should die." That and I'm pretty sure not a lot of the new players really get that it maxes out HP.
Proboscis If carting makes a hunter bad, nobody is good. Some people have a hard time grasping the fact that carting happens sometimes.
Sometimes it's pretty necessary if you don't want to take down Daladamur with a team of shit HR 7s (that got carried up there)
+Simon Levenston that's true, but there are a lot of monsters in hr7 to hunt for armor to make you strong. I tried to go on that quest with my high rank Zamtrios armor; and I for bitched at by some 999hr player for "being so lazy on not grinding better monsters." In a case, he was a dick, but had a point that the armor was better. 😕
rn I'm grinding Arc set because it has Mind's Eye like my old Regios set so it can work with the Akantor CB (which has shitty sharpness) plus the armor looks badass.
cmndrkool321 The guy who told you so is an idiot, I thk ever monster except Raptor ones is a big deal. You should grind what you fit and want to gear.
I don't know how many times I've seen Sword of users hit face while I'm playing hammer, I either launched them into the air so they can do air slashes, or I just do a level 3 charge & simultaneously move them out of the way and stun the monster...
i say sheathing is ok if the monster keeps moving which they usually are or you have crit/punish draw
For rare stuff Dahren is the worst. You litterally need stygian gems for almost ALL weapons and hes a bitch and a half to fight!
Awesome!
Don't forget about wystones. If you try to join my lvl 140 dual apex rajang quest without wystones your getting kicked instantly. No Exceptions.
mlevsky Of course! Thanks for the reminder.
I always do the Wine and Veggie food set for Moxie and Bombardier, that combo helps a ton!
Well I pick Lucky Cat/Exchanger/Caravaneer when I'm confident we'll win... like when G-ranks farm some high rank stuff (unless it's High Rank Molten Tigrex, lel)
I've put 220 hours into MH4U so far and I still feel like a complete noob.
600 and i feel the same xD my best solo was "advanced: bad hair rajang" with lance and it took me like 45 minutes xD
Etta Spust I am at 1100 Hours now, and I got 100% of the awards, and I STILL feel like a noob lol.
I'm at 700 hours and I still know I am an "above average" player at best
Hit HR in Gen, trying out Bow & failing miserably.
I'm at 250 hours, still a noob as you XD
+mega sean just 2 words ... LEARN TO NOT DIE that was 4 yeah but i divide it by 2
+Inuyashaya8 I don't die, n00b hunters die and I have to cut my losses on them.
@@megasean3000 that’s a hella toxic attitude, let people suck, we’ve all been there at one point or another
Tip: if you got triple carted and lose all your items, quit load the game but do not save.
What about when you post your urgent and 3 others join and help you complete it? Are you supposed to stay and help with all 3 urgents?
Mohow I'd say yes if its a raise HR room (unless obviously when you can no longer play), they helped you so you should help them as thanks.
Is kinda rude when someone' s Urgent is completed, they talk to the gathering hall elder for the new line, and then leave.
Yes, it would be nice. If they helped to complete yours, you should do the same for them.
Mohow I'd say yea. Plus, it gets you free materials, free Zenny, and possibly a rare drop or two.
Mohow Always. Always Always Always!!!!!!! If they asked, "Can you help me next?" Say, "OF COURSE I WILL!!!" Ugh you have no idea, how many times. I helped people finish their urgent only for them to bail on me :(
Je suis monte.
This comment made me laugh
Ruben98RaptoR too bad nearly noone understands the joke xD
Is it me or are there 20 times more Europeans than Americans playing 4u online? I'd be lucky to ever find someone that speaks english. I don't have a problem with them, they're mostly good players lol.
BozZz Machete It was even worse in the demo, as soon as I saw that sentence I knew we were doomed.
Lord Deviljho I think I get more English speakers than anyone else.
the only reason you need to run into another map while others are fighting the monster is if you need to heal, eat meat, or sharpen your weapon and don't want the monster to hit you while in mid animation
I remember this one time someone joined a G-rank hall with Gore Magala equipment.
LOW RANK Gore Magala equipment.
Let's just say it didn't end well
Sphyr why jus why... what is wrong with that guy?
Sphyr HOLY SHIT HAHAHAHAHAHA
*G rank Shagaru sneezes on you accidentally*
*dies*
LOL
Sphyr Didn't I end up killing the monster on that one?
As a switch axe user I don't see what is so wrong with sheathing your weapon often, if the monster moves away from me I can get to it much faster by running instead of slowly hobbling up to him with my weapon out
Chosen One 41 same with gunlance
One thing that pisses me off is when im doing like HR4 quests to get High Rank armour but then some G-rank hunter comes and I faint 2 times doing his HR6 quest and after the hunt he says im bad. Like, im HR4, i know im bad, calmeth the down.
Hope you got better
Where's the option to kick people? Because the amount of people I've seen with mixed armour sets like head and gloves from rathalos, chest and legs from goa and waist from brachydios :/ 20 skill points into nothing. So annoying
It's in the start menu, second page, towards the bottom.
Before you kick them, size them up...they may actually be competent. Skill points are not always necessary in MH.
Buttered Funnybiscuit They're not competent if they are wasting armor like that.
@gaijin hunter
(had a few hunters like those in the past)
But as long as your skill measures up and your polite I let a lot slide.
*clap clap clap*
I know it's very annoying when that stuff happens, but why do you criticize the longsword? Even in 4u it still a good weapon.
huh, I thought great sword's whole thing was powerful draw attacks. why wouldn't you sheath it if that's one of the most powerful/effective things it can do? what, you expect the great sword user to slowly walk across the zone to the monster instead of sheath, run and chop off the tail?
I think you misunderstood, what he means is not getting any hits in and constantly sheathing and only attacking when there are large openings.
again, isn't sheathing and attacking when there are openings exactly what the greatsword is for? :P
Bruh you gotta read all the words in the comment lol. I said "Not getting any hits in" I can understand missing a lvl 3 charge here and there, but if you constantly miss it just doesn't contribute much to the fight.
yeah, I'm just messing with you for nitpicking.
my one rule of online etiquette: dont be ''that guy''
But what if that guy is the cool hunting horn player that buffs everyone, stuns the monster and just overall carries the run with his pure, unfiltered badassery and skill, or that refined lance player that knows exactly what to do in every situation and never gets in the way of others but is always there when you need him?
/\
I always strive to be that __| guy
You should also add on that everyone should bring Lifepowder. If they don't have the resources then they should farm at least one of each offline then put them in their Wyporium. There's hardly an excuse for not having Lifepowders at this point since they're so damn easy to make.
EDIT: I will, however, agree that it is forgivable prior to High Rank. Lifepowder farming before then is pretty difficult.
I hate being the only one with lifepowders and dust of life and having to heal the ppl who don't follow this etiquette who are also dumb... 400 armor fools with blue sharpness on G3 teostra... ;-;
+PenguinLord10 , You are in a bad enough situation already if you are having a gunner get hit, or just plain up fighting something insane anyway
***** Yes, you have to advance through caravan quests past a certain point to get access to it though.
Christ... How do people reach G3 without learning that YOU CAN'T CAPTURE ELDER DRAGONS
One thing that I want to say is remember it's just a game don't get mad at someone because they can't play the game as well as someone else can.
true
You forgot a really important thing I notice a lot:
DO NOT CLOG UP SPOTS!
If you are farming for something, know what you need.
There's nothing more infuriating, than somebody who just hangs around the smith looking at weapons, decorations and then quitting after 5 minutes.
If we had the knowledge you would leave, we could've kicked you and looked for another person.
Don't just wait in the room and mind your own business, for the safety of "uh, I don't know if I already have enough materials, I'm just gonna start crafting, oh hey, finished my new armor, gonna put in decoration, oh wait, I have everything I need, oh, wait need to change the colours."
Or people who join your guild quest room, notice your gq is only lvl 134 and do not bother leveling it those 2 levels...
I allready see it enough, so plz scip!
the little dance number at the end there was beautiful. This video is a gem among gems, thank you so much for this!
NoNameC68 that would mean handhelds gaining popularity. Might be difficult.
Waffersforever I just love to do it to help and feel like a badass
Th Rei lol ikr i love going into an hr 1 room and killing a g. jaggi in 5-7 hits
I'm pretty sure I have OCD because I don't like having an incomplete set and even if its mixed I sell the one that doesn't look good *Sassy Snap
What if it's not available in solo? Like the Dalamadur?
Alexander Whapples You don't have to be online to submit and start a Gathering Hall quest, you know? When you do this for the Dalamadur quest, the cutscene will play as normal. And again, if you've seen the cutscene even once, skipped or not, you can always rewatch it at the housekeeper.
Well you win, I'm out of bullets.
Alexander Whapples "What if it's not available in solo?" well you still can go to your house and ask your housekeeper to play the cutscene again, unless you're some sort of glitchy hobbo that didn't make it to the caravaneer's team I guess :l
i will never skip cutscenes if i haven't seen them before. i don't care what game it is nor do i care if people hate me for it
I'm just curious if this would be considered rude. Was that rude on my part to ask them to leave the quest when they were still in the Elder Hall and hadn't headed for the quest?
greenhillmario There's never a problem with asking as long as you're courteous, even if you're turned down.
I once had a G rank Hunter join my High rank party and she/he was the most polite stranger I have encountered on an online game yet. All that patient monster farming really makes people see the game in a different light.
First thing you talk about and I was wondering if it was in, really grips my shit when people come in and do that.
''Urgent pls!''
starfcy
One thing that gripes me is people who DO NO'T read the guild hall description like.
"Elder Hall, G-Rank, Azure Rathalos, Need Rare Materials"
Random Hunter joins and goes "Hai gais where goin do my Chaos Magala kay?" or some other monster that they want or key quest, same as what Gaijin said but if your hall is made for a specific thing and they do that it's slightly more annoying.
That moment where you set the room to "any" cause you plan to hunt more than 1 and everybody picks their fav quest o.0
Thanks Corrin
But being a Hector is fun, especially when you're a tank with the best legendary weapon in the damned game.
KrazyKanzo also helps to eat for Insurance
There needs to be a new version of this for Generations Ultimate, because people don't seem to have gotten the memo!
You forgot to mention don't use traps on elder dragons or even think about capping them, cause it won't work
TheKingSwamper Yeah, once I was leveling up my Shagaru GQ and I parad Shaggy, as I use Gobul SnS, and this idiot sets up a trap, because he thinks I shock trapped him. Like WTF m8
Pit DarkAngel lol
Alexander Wloka It isn't funny, when the guy almost dies, while standing behind the trap like an idiot
Pit DarkAngel its funny cause hes stupid
Lol i'll tell you guys something.
I was looking for a room to farm kusha parts and then we went hunting (g3).
This guy (leader of the room) set up traps trying to cap the Kusha and after the hunt ended..
I said: You cant cap elders..
Leader: yes i can, i pro
I just laughed.
Some guy called me terrible when I died 2 times fighting a sliver rathalos
Bah it happens. I've triple carted an entire team before ;p
Jared Juarez Everybody carts. Don't feel bad, just do your best!
LS users have a very good reason to want to get in there and get their attacks in at least, IG could easily not trip people if they gave a damn.
you did a pretty bad job of not trying to sound bitter
tripping is annoying with LS i understand but those goddamned swith axe users and their infinite pressing of the A button and that finisher just sends me flying
if a player is conscious enough and does their best to not be a huge hassle most people don't really care. players that bitch every time they get nicked by another player are far more annoying than those they're getting hit by. it's not like you're taking damage, fkn deal with it. the video example was extreme, though, and would be annoying as shit.
One other thing that annoys me is when someone uses the gong on the boat FOR NO REASON AT ALL OR the dragonator
Ahahah in saving that for part 2 along with the idiots that do that with traps on apex monsters
gaijin hunter Could you could say something about being specific on gong or ballista first in a Dah'ren Morhan quest in your part 2 video?
I remember in 3U I was fighting Jhen with these 3 random guys. I asked if we hit gong first or ballista first. One said gong the other said ballista so as I hit the gong the other guy hit the ballista. Then the leader got pissed at me even though they didn't make it clear. We argued the entire battle, I'm surprised neither of us were carted.
gaijin hunter Also add the idiots who try to Flash Bomb Gore.
People do that? XD THOSE IDOTS!!!!! X'D
I'm confused about mounting, some people say it's okay to attack the monster, but videos say dont...
*My Standing on Long Sword users.*
As a Long Sword user, I try my best to stay out of other people's way, it's not exactly easy, and yes, I do occasionally trip when someone runs up, but to be fair, the monster isn't exactly going to not notice me hacking away at it's tail/legs/whatever, and we must realize that people do move around while fighting. (I've been using the LS since MH3U, I know how to use it, but I do not claim to be a professional, please, if you better Long Sword users have any advice, share it with me please.)
*SUMMARY:*
*My standing on Mounting:*
Yes, if someone mounts, don't attack it. (Which is already pointless because I'm already mounted at the moment, so it's just another attack.)
*My standing on: Carting*
We all cart. You also cannot use Multiplayer Hunting unless you challenge it with one other person.))
*My standing on: Leaving*
If you die twice really fast, go ahead and leave, you're out of your league, but if you manage to survive quite some time before carting, PLEASE stick around for the remainder of the quest. Chances are, the monster is almost dead anyways. If you die twice and aren't sure if you won't die again, and the sub-quest is finished, take it and go, the rewards for main are better(Granted, I'm a bit annoyed that only 1/3 of the reward Zenny is left, plus the cut you forfeited is gone, so it's more like 1/6 1/9, 1/12, depending on the hunter count.)
*My standing on: Stamina Usage*
I must also add that people PLEASE keep their stamina up, Nothing saddens me more than watching a fellow hunter run tiredly around when the monster is in the area. As the intro loading screen says: "All play and no rest makes for a dull hunter, nya!" (Never thought that I'd use the don't play all the time warning to prove an in-game point/tip from experience.)
*Closing Statement*
We all must realize none of this actually matters if your team is flat out not effective or doesn't get along very well (Experience proves that if your team doesn't get along, you're more than likely not gonna win.)
one day, a person fainted 3 times that wasn't me.
If you don't care about hitting the GS user, the GS user won't care about hitting you, and when GS users stop caring about hitting you.. you learn how birds feel about windmills.
i remember i screwd this ls user who tripped me during the previous quest... he left after that
I'm so annoyed too by this.
So we just gonna ignore everyone online dates in this game?
No.....?
Ok...
yeah it’s so weird lmao
But idk how to, made it through with grit and EZ
Chad .Steeves
Holy fuck thank you!
This video is for MH4U though, not MHX.
ah
I find the no constant sheathing part to be wrong.
What if the monster is constantly moving and is far away? What if you need to do a Superman Dive?
So just slowly jog/walk around with your unsheathed weapon most of the time, instead of sheathing weapons to sprint towards the far-away monster? Imagine the whole team doing that. How much will they accomplish doing that?
That was fun. Hue. :]
-Zander
Yay for contributor! Huzzah! Good job guys.
Remember kids, you should always go for kickboxer to kick people off Dalamadur so they have more motivation
I kinda feel bad now since my main weapon is long sword.
Long sword can be a real basass just requires more care and technical skill to use that's all ^^
gaijin hunter yeah you're right I've mastered how to use It. I just gotta stay out of the way.
gaijin hunter Do you always see people trip or is there some animation latency where you can't see the 1:1 effects of your attacks as LS?
Andres H
The tail is your playground. And theres a looooot of space on that thing.
Tail and legs
the amount of times i've been in a hall with my friends and random people have showed up begging us to do ukanlos urgent as we are all g rank is ridiculous... hope people pay attention to this, love your vids btw and your tutorials helped me branch out my weapon choices, keep up the good work and happy hunting! :)
Edit your room requirements to avoid such situations, you can do it in 4U so it’s your fault if high rank people join
You should also see the hall description and see if they have a specific monster in mind before you post the quest. It gets really annoying if your hall is listed as zinogre, but everyone comes posting the urgent quest
