I worked for the commonwealth railways in Tarcoola in the mid 1960's. The days when there were gangs of men every 50 miles or so, I seem to remember a pub being there. Our accommodation were old railway carriages converted into small rooms. So hot in the summer and no air conditioning. Back in the UK now.
Wow that must have been harsh. Later on there were streets of transportable homes there all with aircon but all have been removed now. Another of my videos walks around in the pub/hotel
