Onetigris Cosmitto tent ⛺️ leaking
มุมมอง 1679 หลายเดือนก่อน
Testing tent in 3 days and 2 nights of non stop rain. Cosmitto tent leaks at the main fly seams along the vents. A simple job to seam seal those seams. I enjoy this tent and prefer the vents on top over the Cosmitto 2.0 version tent which has them in the doors.

    Can you tell me what freewheel or cassette setup you are running on the Sprint group?

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a modern narrow Sunrace 7 speed 13-28 freewheel on the original Suntour hub and a 9 speed chain . It mostly runs perfect but should have narrow 9 speed jocky wheels to be perfect. An easily avaliable dropout extender from ebay is fitted so the Sprint derailluer has a 28 cog range. I wish I could keep it all original but I ride in long steep hills here.

      Thanks for the quick detailed response. I am in the process of refurbishing a 531 frame made by a local builder with the sprint groupset. It gives me food for thought…

    is this the old cosmitto or the newer one? the older ones were notorious for leaking through the vents but OneTigris refused to stop selling them. The newer ones are meant to have fixed this problem though.

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it's the old version. The problem is related somehow to 3 layers of fabric stitched together along the vents where everywhere else it's 2 layers of fabic joined together. I've simply seam sealed the outer fly along those vent and fixed it. It's a great tent and prefer the vents on top over the 2.0 tent that has vents in the doors.

    To what depth does the device see as much as possible

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a hard question to accurately answer. It depends a lot on the density of the ground, soil type and folage or leaf litter. The type of metal, size and depth. As an example a .05 gram or less piece of gold in soft clean on top soil could be found within 2 or 3 inches.

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you viewed. The first time I visited this town there was a note inside the door window of the post office left there as the owners closed the door behind them for the last time dated 1994. The worst thing the buildings face since then is people vandals passing through. The post office is smashed to pieces now. People would have been leaving town before 1994.

    A question, i have seen a few of your vids in the ranges, have you seen much Quartz in the general area?, in my mind there must be great potential for detecting nuggets at least in some areas yet the bastards have locked us out, who are these bastards and what right do they have to do this?, as long as one fills in his holes, we leave next to no trace of even being in any given spot, just go to Jupiter creek or anywhere in Victoria after heavy rains the ground looks like it hasn't been touched, i mean it just pisses you off when you have these greentards controlling what we can and can't do, by what right?

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello yes it's illegal to detect in the Flinders. The governments missing out on tourism dollars here across the state, much of the land in the Flinders is private stations also but permission could be sort for that at least. Yeah in the Flinders there's pockets of quartz and old timer diggings where I've found gold-silver. Topographic maps can be used to find them but getting to them cross country is another thing, one can walk into these ranges and never be seen again. My ex boss knows of a patch in the lower Flinders on private land he brings visiting overseas distributors and finds decently large nuggets. The mine in this video I'm not sure what they were mining, I have samples to be looked at. Not copper? and certainly not gold.

    • @beergold
      @beergold ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbcprolightning Cheers!!, "decently large nuggets"?, now you have me salivating LOL, like in ounces large you mean? Have you approached any of these stations and if so how were you treated? I know there is a land website here in south oz where i think for a fee you can get access to the land owner with some details probably a phone number and or email, topo maps?, didn't think of that LOL, and i'm usually pretty cluey. I have a 1m mono coil which i made all of it except the actual windings, man, would i like to hit some of the areas in the Flinders with that, but if not Victoria will have to suffice, there is still some deep chunks in Victoria and hopefully one with my name on it!!!

    • @jbcprolightning
      @jbcprolightning ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beergold Well think finger nail or half finger nail size is decent lol. Most of the station owners are approachable and already cater to tourism for 4x4 and off road motorcyclists. Angorigina Moolooloo Oratunga to name a few. The southern Flinders is all private tourism like B&B type accommodation for the soft city folk. The stations I mention are around Blinman. I do have an interest in the far north Gammon Ranges which is all National Parks so detecting there at own risk, the terrain and geology look more appealing for gold there.

    • @beergold
      @beergold ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbcprolightning Thanks for that info, yeah you could go deep into the NP and hope u aren't seen, what kind of punishment would one receive?, a large fine?, confiscation of detecting equipment? or both?, one could take an old detector, like one that if you were caught with, wouldn't worry you losing, i have a 5000 and an old SD2200d, but then again the SD is a very deep machine on larger objects so not a machine i want to lose, i found out the owner of a newsagency in one of the nearby towns owns a cattle property up north, next time i see her i;m going to have to ask her exactly where, i might just get lucky who knows!!!

    I worked for the commonwealth railways in Tarcoola in the mid 1960's. The days when there were gangs of men every 50 miles or so, I seem to remember a pub being there. Our accommodation were old railway carriages converted into small rooms. So hot in the summer and no air conditioning. Back in the UK now.
